I wonder what this is supposed to mean:
Quote:
They'd carry the universe if they could, and I bet they do.
This, of course, refers to that old (Buddhist, I think?) belief that the Earth (and pretty much everything else) sits on top of a turtle, on top of turtle, on top...
But it's strange that she says "I bet they do"

I was thinking the same thing. You might find something here: Turtle Symbolism

Just for information - Simon Le Bon is the lead singer of Duran Duran and Morton Hacket is the lead singer of AHA.
Aha's big claim to fame was the song 'take on me' but Duran Duran had a string of hits inc planet earth, girls on film, rio etc

Jeez, I hope that's not the connection, just about every song listed on that page has numerous references that fit with this game.
It'd take weeks to go through them all

[off topic]
The Ominous Seapods are a relatively "unknown" band that used to play a lot here in upstate NY (don't know if they still do)... They had a pretty big local live following.

I will tell you something more... In Beethoven.html she mentions Tabula Rasa. 'Clean (the ) Slate' but that is also a name of a band. And their lyrics also tie in quite nicely... (has a very paranoid matrixy feel to it) ON the top of their lyrics page it says "The role of Smith"...
Whaaaat?

Also, there's a lot of hidden text in their main page.
Someone please stop it!

When I looked at the picture, I immediately got the image of a clock from the coffee cup. Again, maybe just coincidence, but...
[edit] unfortunately, keeping it oriented as it is, it doesn't accurately portray any correct time... the minute hand is before 12, yet the hour hand is just barely past 5 o clock. [/edit]
The coffee cup looked familiar when I saw it too, and it clicked when, in another browser window, I was looking at a 360 VR of one of the Matrix toys from the link in that post...and the Quicktime logo popped up to play the VR....! Perhaps it refers to a Quicktime movie hidden on there, and maybe the C shaped coffee stain is the key to finding it? Not being great at doing anything even remotely techy, I will leave it to others to look...

What link are you talking about? Matrix toys?

Yeah, but that's not important - the important bit is that the coffee cup looks very much like the Quicktime logo. The spoon is at a different orientation to the clock hand on the logo, though, but I still can't help but feel that it's significant. Maybe leading us to a hidden .mov file on thenekodas site.
