Everyone on here PLEASE be careful while doing trades. I feel that I am in the midst of one currently that I am being screwed over on. If it does turn out that I am being taken advantage of I will be sure to post all the info here so that no one else gets victimized.

Again... be sure that you feel comfortable with a trade before making it. I felt a bit shaky and still went through with it. Now here I sit empty handed.

Hold on there dude! NO ONE IS BEING SCREWED OVER ON HERE! I've already sent out your bit today via regular mail and you WILL receive it in a few days! Just because you haven't gotten it yet doesn't mean I'm screwing you over here. GOD! Mad

As I said before, I do not feel that the care and time with which I shipped out your item has been reciprocated at all. No need to say anymore at this point. If I end up getting your "envelope" which you "sent out via your mailbox" then all should be fine. Personally though, nothing that has taken place to this point has given me any reason to feel confident that that will be the case. Hopefully I'm wrong and if so I will be right here to eat my crow.

You are getting your bit VERY soon. In the meantime, just CHILL. No need to make a big deal over this. I'm not screwing anyone over; you're getting what you want.

At the risk of mini-modding, I'd like to point out that this really isn't the place for this conversation. Looks like it's over for now, but if the issue comes up again please take it to PMs.

BAD TRADER WARNING!!

As an update to my earlier post, I just wanted to warn everyone on here NOT TO TRADE WITH STEVE KIDD aka MOVIELORD101.

A few weeks back this individual posted in this thread that he would be willing to trade a yellow Bit from the ARG for a Flynn Lives shirt size XL. Having been chomping at the bit (no pun intended) to get my hands on one of those things since hearing about them, I decided to offer him my Flynn Lives shirt from the Flynn's Arcade event at SDCC '09. This was one of the blacklight coded shirts, not the ones handed out at the screenings or Wondercon. Mr. Kidd jumped at the deal, but I guess I should have noticed something strange with the way he acted: demanding that I ship first, that I delete his shipping information from my hard drive once the shirt was shipped out (um... ok), etc. But I really, really wanted that Bit so my geek brain overrode my caution and the very next day I shipped out the shirt to Mr. Kidd's New Jersey address.

The day after I shipped out the shirt, I was contacted via PM by socalsteve, asking if I had made a trade deal with movielord101 for his Bit. I told socalsteve that I had and gave him the specifics of the deal. Socalsteve then informed me that movielord101 had been in the process of making ANOTHER deal with him for a set of items in exchange for the Bit, AFTER the agreement had already been made for the trade I had arranged with him for my shirt.

I contacted movielord101 (Steve Kidd) and asked him about this deal. He then started a song and dance about how he was confused and didn't know who to make a deal with. I stated that since I had already shipped out my shirt, that in the interest of fairness I felt he should continue on with our arrangement. He agreed and then started asking me to pass along messages to socalsteve about deleting his shipping information, once again raising my suspicions about him.

A week passed and I hadn't heard from Mr. Kidd. I PM'd him and asked if he had shipped out the Bit as USPS Delivery Confirmation on my shirt indicated that he had received it. He answered that he had my shirt and that "I'm going to be busy this week, but the bit will be sent out when I get the chance". I told him that I would like it shipped out in the next few days as I had shipped the shirt out the day after we made the trade. I felt this was fair to ask. I asked if he could please send it Priority, with delivery confirmation and insurance as I had his shirt and I also asked if there was a chance that he still had the original box the Bit was shipped out in and if so, could he please ship it in that. His response to this was, "I'll try to. ^-^". That was on the 11th.

On the 16th when I hadn't received it, I messaged him again asking about it and got this in return, "I haven't sent it out yet. I'll do so tomorrow via REGULAR MAIl. Ok?" I re-iterated to him that I would like it shipped Priority with DC and Insurance and informed him that I really would like it as fast as possible as I had a cousin coming in from out of town that I would like to show it to (moreso because I was beginning to feel at this point that I was screwed). Then, this, "I'm sending it out today, actually. Just printed out the shipping address and I'll be putting it in an envelope right now and sending it out via my mailbox. I don't think I'll be able to get a delivery code, but you can expect it to arrive VERY soon!". Only to be then followed by, "Nah crap. Turns out I deleted the PM with your shipping address in it. My bad". After he tells me he just printed out my shipping address and was placing it into an "envelope".

It was here that I started getting really, really angry and truly believed that this was a bad trade. I asked him how he would be sticking the Bit into an envelope for shipment and that I was afraid of it being damaged. No response. It was then that I took it to the forum because that seemed to be the only thing he was worried about.

It is now the 27th and I have nothing. I sent him a PM last week informing him that I would drop it all if he would just ship me my shirt back. No response and no shirt.

I feel that if anyone is burned in a trade that they should report their experience so that no one else falls prey to being screwed. Especially with these rare items that really do mean a lot to some of us. Even now if I get a Flynn Lives shirt to replace the one I have lost in this bad trade, it won't be the blacklight SDCC shirt. I may just end up ordering one from CafePress, but even then I'm out nearly $30.

I am sure that I am going to get blasted by a mod or someone else saying that I was stupid and should eat it or whatever, but I feel that there are enough fair and honest people in this forum (I've been contacted via PM's by some of you, and I thank you) that things shouldn't be ruined by these cheats looking to burn someone.

If anyone gets contacted by a member looking to trade that is from New Jersey and they feel strange about it, please PM me and I will check the address against Steve Kidd's, which I still have here.

Thanks and please be careful when trading. This was my first time and might be the last due to the outcome.

God's sakes, man, if you don't want anyone to trade with me anymore, JUST GET RID OF MY GODDAMN SHIPPING ADDRESS! If you don't, I'll report you to one of the administrators for hassling a fellow user! Is that what you want, punk?!

An apology and a returned shirt might be a more appropriate response.

Good God, man! Why is you turning on me just because the item I was trying to send you got bounced back in the mail?! This is unfair! I don't wanna give up my shirt! I tried to send you your item, it didn't go through, and I forgot to send the damn thing. You had your chance, bub.

This is your last warning, RustyMuffler: GET RID OF THE SHIPPING ADDRESS AND LEAVE ME ALONE OR I'M CALLING THE ADMINS HERE TO SETTLE THIS! GOT IT, PUNK?

Tell you what, Steve. Someone actually just gave me a better idea. I'm currently looking into the prospects of contacting the local authorities in your area as I have your address and every correspondence between us as proof of your scam.

All you had to do was be fair. And this crap of your package being "bounced back in the mail", as with just about every other thing you have said since this whole fiasco started, does not wash. If that was the case and you got something returned, you would have responded to my PM asking what was going on.

Your address isn't going anywhere. It is right here to protect anyone else from being scammed. As Robbie just said... had your intentions been true, you would have apologized and returned my shirt to me. But this continued behavior on your part only serves to prove my point.

Admins who feel that I am in the wrong for any of this, please feel free to let me know. If you are going to allow trading in these forums, then the least you could do is allow reports of negative experiences like this.

You can play on sympathies all you want and try to make yourself a victim here. But the plain and honest truth which could now be backed up by more evidence than I have even shown here is that you intended to screw me over from the beginning.

The fact that you won't simply send me what I was promised is insane. I mean, what is the problem here? You think I am going to just take it lying down and say, "Oh, OK. Take my shirt and keep your Bit and have a nice day. Sorry for inconveniencing you." No. No way. Just send me what you promised me. And stop trying to make people feel sorry for you AFTER you make posts showing others the kind of attitude I have been dealing with for weeks.

And please stop sending me PM's pretending to be your Mother. That is just pathetic.

Catfight!

Hey children, this is a conversation that probably should have 100% taken place in PMs. Have a real problem with another user? Take it up with an admin - don't start a public dramarama fest. Rolling Eyes

As far as I am aware, any trading going on between users is just that, between users. I don't feel it is UF's job to babysit or regulate these trades - this isn't ebay.

if you wish to respond to this post, PM me, please don't respond to me in the thread. thank you in advance.
