Ustream normally saves your 'shows' for you, and if you use Qik it's normally saved in 10 minute segments.

If using ustream, the answer is yes. It's not the best live video tool out there, but seems to be the easiest to use from the iphone.

If we get enough video from live and uploaded, we should be able to get good coverage of the event for you folks not making it. Then we could also edit it together for best viewing (and possibly some post mortem analysis of the events that happen during the course of the press conference).

In my experience, yes you have the option when stopping your streaming to save the videos (to a few sources). However, I've also had long streams broken up into randomly sized smaller videos on Ustream, and so I believe that can be chalked up to breaks in the stream signal, so when saved, Ustream saves them as individual streams even though the phone never really stopped streaming at all.

It's a minor annoyance to see in the ustream channel, but I'd say if it does that, download the videos, re-stitch them together, then upload it for an official final video.

It's a shame that the ustream broadcaster app doesn't allow for recording to the device and broadcasting at the same time.

Completely agree... but I think doing both simultaneously is too much for the little processor. Perhaps the 4G or next OS update.
...really impatient for OS4 and/or 4G... *wants multitasking* Confused

Naw. I've written a couple of apps for the iphone and it's pretty capable. Ustream didn't think about situations with bad cell coverage.

The optimal way to do a live broadcast using the iphone would be to have it using wifi, connected to a cell device like the MiFi. Coverage is good for all services, but AT&T's network in SF can get saturated at times.

 		Regarding the chanting at the conference, Wouldn't something like, "We want Kevin Flynn!" be preferable to to "Flynn Lives"? Just seems more real, somehow. And less redundant given the shirts.

To me, "We want Kevin Flynn" implies that Encom is holding him hostage or something.
