I mentioned the Assassins cult from Alamut because pretty much every mystic order of the western word claims ties to them. Weishaupt's Illuminati in Bavaria claimed to be a descendant of the assassins, and was in fact organized along the same lines, whether or not the tie is indeed factual. The Order of the Golden Dawn claims to follow on from Weishaupt's Illuminati. Weishaupt also called his inner circle The Golden Dawn, so we can see the linkages to the current story there in the accountants Goldman and Dawn.

I am digging fairly deep looking for matters of their Symbology, trying to find out if they used Sigils or the like extensively. As outcasts in the Islamic world, there are some pretty strong links with both the Templars and Jewish groups rumoured to have mystic Kaballah roots. Most Western Mystical Symbols and Sigils have their roots in the Kabalah, who heavily favoured numbers 3, 4, and you guessed it, 12.

Mostly, I am thinking outloud here, possibly chasing a red herring, but it did catch my eye and trigger several links in my head.

And in Thelema, 11 is the magick number, I didnt find an explanation for 12:

Excellent work spielpuppe! I, for one, don't think that there is a smaller orb in the center of their circle as there are several similar bright dots across the lake, I don't think it is be another orb. Whatever it could be, the source of it appears to be underwater and the orbs do appear from underwater, so maybe it is the light produced by where spheres might have come from. Another Cthulhu connection, perhaps.

Also, could anyone please tell me what exactly do I do to become an initiate and what happens afterwards? Well, I draw my sigil (implying that I have software needed), submit it to flickr and then what happens?

I think we might get new clues if we look to numbers from 1 to 12 everywhere. Good luck with this, i did not get any lead from there, though.
