my bro and I got our badges today! w00t! Happy bday to me!
confused the mailman! LOL

Letter, lanyard and badge.
Sector 7, shiney encom sticker. the bar code print.
We comapred our bar codes, and they're identical. nothing from the scanner.

no blacklight to check envelopes, but would probably yield zero results.

Awesome stuff in Seattle!

If they ran out of lanyards, I could just use my "Stevie ribbon". I just need to remove it from the only other bit of ARG swag I've acquired in almost 5 years and didn't have to buy... My LGL Rubik's cube.

Re: ID numbers

Hey all.

I'm just curious if the ID numbers themselves are random or calculated. I want to do some simple statistics on them out of curiosity. I have 4 collected so far.

I know that this is 100% outside of the bounds of the game, just my own curiosity. I promise not to release your Badge ID numbers online. I'm not even keeping name-id associations... jsut the badge ID value itself.

Would any of you mind private-messaging or emailing yours to me? (yorgle at gmail.com) Thanks!
I'm willing to help. You don't want user names? Just the ID#? Have you considered that the hex values might be a representation of the user names in some way and you won't be able to figure it out without the user names?

This is urgent news in noting that I just received an email that any address that includes emails being sent to @encominternational.com does not exist.

The eight-digit codes don't seem to be something we need to keep secure at all... after all, if we were Encom employees, that would be out there, for all to see, all day at work. That's basically our employee number, which isn't a secret. Our PASSWORD is the same as our login for flynnlives.com, which is probably NOT something that we should be openly sharing. Smile

I concur and see nothing wrong with sharing the 32-bit/8 digit hexadecimal numbers openly. I imagine it is most likely that users are assigned random numbers but it couldn't hurt for someone to do a little poking around to see if they can spot some kind of pattern.
Does anyone see any potential problems with posting employee numbers in the open for study?

Quick report, my badge just came through! The customs form attached values it at one whole dollar!

And yes, Group 7 clearance here too.

Who did you get this email from? What was the exact text of the email? What do you mean by, "any address that includes emails"? Do you mean, "There are no email addresses at encominternational.com?"

I tried sending emails to DanTheManSPLATencominternational.com, and dghrterununrySPLATencominternational.com and neither of them bounced back. It looks like they are catching all of the emails sent to the URL.

It took a few days but I recieved the MAILER DAEMON notices that the emails were undeliverable. I can post the specific response later if need be. I also used the proper sender nes when sending them. (AB_EXEC_LVLSPLATencominternational.com)

Maybe we're missing something or we have to wait until the page is updated.

Again, given the hacking nature of the original movie, has anyone tried sending an email from a forged encom account?

Assuming we're the new QC people that are mentioned on the intranet site, my email would likely be

LC_QC_DEPTSPLATencominternational.com

Since they're so adamant about email security, maybe their server is blocking gmail, yahoo, etc?

Please feel free to laugh if this is technologically impossible, I'm pretty new to most of this stuff. Smile

Given that 42 and San Diego are both in my state, I guess I'm still anathema at 42. Not sure what I did. But, have fun guys.
