Interesting indeed.
I posted a comment, I think what's important here is to break his cynicism. We need to get him to at least look into the paranormal, namely Slenderman.

Maybe we can get ahold of Lizzie somehow? She sounds as though she might be more willing to look into the paranormal stuff. Tried googling around for her on the internet, but haven't come up with anything that looks like her!

But I agree, sounds like he first needs to get broken of his skepticism before he and his partner wind up being the real version of that 'curious sketch' he found. Razz

I really hate to nitpick, but while this is really well-written, the plot itself doesn't make any sense to me.

First, Zeke is a detective who apparently has enough emotional issues to warrant his partner telling him to make a blog. He listens to her enough to actually make the blog, but mentions nothing else of his "emotional issues".
Instead, he starts rambling on about a new case to which he's been assigned. Er...what? He's a detective, he can't just post on the internet about all the intimate details of a missing persons case.
Disregarding that fact, maybe it's the case that he's got emotional problems with, and that's what prompted him to start blogging.
But wait...what? He says there's nothing much to it, and unless something else comes up then it'll probably be an "open and shut case".

I hate being the turd in the punchbowl around here (I feel like I usually am at this point), but for how well-written it is, I wish it had a better setup.

I think this would have been more believable if it were treated like a private diary that we can all still read on the internet. Yeah, it'd probably take away its alternate reality factor (becoming more of a straight-up work of fiction) and we wouldn't be able to communicate with him, but it'd make more sense.

I do like the turn this has taken with multiple victims, though, and our main character is quite a cool guy. I mean, he quotes George Carlin!

Yeah, I agree. While less interactive, it'd make more sense that way. A private diary is a kinda cool idea, really. Or even like a diary that's been transcribed from someone's physical paper diary to a blog by a friend who found the diary, or something. Would be a bit like "Just Another Fool" though, I guess.
But I mean he literally at one point starts a post off with "Here are all the facts of the case". ffffffffffff.

Zeke is a more interesting main character than in the other stories, though.
(Also he places himself at 10 years older than the main character, making him 26. It takes quite awhile to earn a detective badge. And even if he had, he acts like he's been in the business for quite awhile. Like he's all "hardened by the job" and such. I'll stop now. Really.)

Though he states he's sort of always been that way, not necessarily by the job.

To be fair, we are talking about a story wherein people are stalked by a tramp tall man in a face, wearing a business suit. I have plenty of suspension of disbelief.

Plus, it's not hard to imagine that Zeke could be changing the names of people in the case or passing over some of the details so it's just vague enough for it to be anywhere.

@Xltd: You do have a point on that one. And he does bring up the whole young-for-a-detective thing.

@Seraphic Adonis:
He doesn't claim to be changing the names, though. He just flat-out says it. You'd think if he was, he'd say "I'm changing the names of these people to protect their identities." Nope.
And sure, it's a Slender Man story and is entirely fictional, but that doesn't mean it's not supposed to sound real.

Again, afk being the turd in the punchbowl.

Squidbutt, I had the same reservations that you do... the whole idea that he's posting sensitive info up for everyone to read is really unrealistic. The age and hardened vet thing don't jive too well, either. I hope we don't have some kind of Shutter Island where he thinks he's a detective after Slendy in order to cover for his own craziness. XD

rofl. I may have been too hard on it, though. It does seem like an interesting story, and I'll definitely keep track of it.

Still, I'm noticing people are being really hasty in trying to make their own Slendy stories after watching Marble Hornets, and not thinking things through entirely. The Slender Man meme isn't going anywhere anytime soon. It'd be nice if someone took awhile to think up something really interesting.

This still has potential, I think. ^_^ Give it some time, man.

Oh man, this is good.

Laughing haha. I'm watching this, participating when I can. It seems more realistic than a usual Slender-ARG (Yes, they have their own class of ARG now.)

Uhh, I find this believable enough. Sure, it's unprofessional, but he explains why he's giving away this 'sensitive' information. He's going to get hell for it but he doesn't care.

I really like this blog. I find it far more interesting than other blogs I've seen. Definitely keeping watch of this.

Also, even though Lizzie forced him to make a blog to help with his emotional problems, I doubt he'll just let loose the emotions and make us cry with his sad stories. He's a guy, he keeps that stuff in. I can understand that.

Plus, when you're writing a blog, sometimes, you just have to write the first thing on your mind, and for him, it was the case.

New post with a very Slendy diary... and what may or may not be a code... I tried some of the links on the main unfiction page, but maybe someone else will have better luck.

I think if we can solve the gibberish in the post, then the gibberish in Curious Little Girl should be do-able.

"OnE tWo, HE'S cOmINg foR YOU

Those are the letters, but I don't know how they should be split up.

I'm seeing some words in there. Let me add some spaces;

OEWHESOINR YOU TREUOPINTKNGHOOFIIXNEPRMECU FIX SUN EGHHEL LET YOU SEPR WE ENNERLIVGA

The only problem with this method of just finding words is that it's likely that we'll end up with "junk" letters (like "SEPR" in the above example). As the "capital letters pattern" was suggested by the blog, it's possible that it might be the lower case letters instead. Here they are;

Quote:
ntocmgfohefornotloctedrvesohlfothrcieeitgaleoaakninteveain

That isn't very helpful either.

I went back to the first set of letters, then looked for words that began with "OE," then narrowed the search down to "OEW." There are no words that begin with "OEW," though. It's possible that this is either an anagram (in which case, I need a better anagram decoder as my current one didn't get any results for the set of letters.

Oe- is a medical suffix, apparently. But we don't have much to go on from that. Hmmm.
