Yeah, like in the very beginning of this game.
But try this one: the missing persons are ex husband and wife.
If you e-mailed Beth McConnell when this game started out, she emailed you back with response. It was an impersonal response of course, since everyone got the same email. In it Beth talks about a close male friend of hers who went into hiding, "and with his ex wife?" she says.
It's a theory, but I think this is on the "most likely" list.

sorry...
but.. definetely they were ex-married...
Other thing... at beginning I thought that this ARG would end up in The Matrix Revolutions... but NO... have you seen the Credits for the movie??? There is not a single name from here... so I'm sure it's parallel to the movie and not about it...
other that that: Reloaded and Revolutions were made as ONE, so the storyline is already complete... only what gets me insane is the Subway scene in the Trailer... mayyyybe NEO meets with someone from the ARG...
[Did A.I. arg have any connection with the movie? I did not play it]

There is no proof that this is even done by WB or the brothers, could be some fans or something like that.

Your continual insistence upon connecting this game to the Matrix will hinder your investigation.
Round and round the Earth doth spin
Forever married to its ghostly twin
God sent flood and God sent fire
Both did fail and the Earth did gyre

I think there is lot of evidence that indicates it's from the WB...
In MovieMaking language, the storyline it's complex enough to be official..
Actually the strongest evidence is that they didn't say nothing about it... because if they are not making money, then it doesn't matter if it's good marketing or not... get it?
So if it's they're work then they just shut up and let it run... get it?

Complexity is not enough proof, anyone who has the time and brain power can do what has been done thus far. This has not been beyond the reach of a few organized inviduals who decided to set up a game.

The Final Flight of the Osirus in Animatrix did not share any character names (i.e. credits) with Matrix Reloaded. It was still an incredibly good parallel story that tied in with the movie quite well.

Heck, most of those comics didn't use any characters from the movies. They just told "Matrix Universe" type stories, usually about people experiencing situations they couldn't explain, but of course you knew what was really happening...Sound familiar? Try thinking of this as one of those comics in ARG form, and you're helping to write the story.

All true, but what do we consider Matrix canon? Anything created by Andy and Larry? If that's the case, then you have to look at all of the available material: The Animatrix, The Matrix Trilogy, and Enter The Matrix.
If you haven't played ETM (i've only played a little myself), then the Osiris (from The Animatrix) is pivotal, in being that the only way Zion discovered the machines boring down to Zion was because the Osiris, and it's captain, Thaddeus went to the surface and saw the machines. (Wow that was a long sentence).
Then Niobe and Ghost jack-in to the Matrix to recover the information left by Joanne (Thaddeus' crewmate and lover?) about the machines.
In the Animatrix, there's also "The Kid" who *does* have a credit in Reloaded and Revolutions.
Okay, what was the point of this again? I dunno...

..... You should stop thinking about the movie and start thinking about Matrix Online. Officialy a beta is about 3 month before the game launch. Actually, Matrix online is getting out in 2004. This was announced may 14 2003. 2004 is in 3 month and nothing new about it. Even no annoucement for the beta wich would start soon if they want to get a really good MMORPG. So all this let me think that this ARG is getting us on the beta of Matrix Online and that by finishing the ARG we will be taken as beta-tester or the final thing we will find (aybe it's even the "labyrinth) is the beta program of Matrix Online for the beta test. It's speculation but so far it's the only thing that as some sense with all this. Also, in the faq on matrixonline.com it ask can i be the one and they say ask the oracle. So possibly that matix online is a new version of the matrix. It take place after revolution anyway. To finish this, we might just follow beth unplugging while neo is fighting outside. That make some sense don't ya think?

Well ..., I agree to a point. I mean, they are not going to announce anything about MO until after Revolutions hits theaters. I think that's why nothing more has been said about the game.
It's been said that TMO takes place after Revolutions, so obviously the Matrix still exists. In this ARG, Thomas Anderson has been "transferred". So I think we have to fit this ARG into the timeline that is present in the movies. So this ARG takes place somewhere inbetween The Matrix and The Reloaded/Revolutions timeline, or possibly, in conjunction with Reloaded/Revolutions. ETM also takes place before and during Reloaded/Revolutions. I would have to say we can't ignore the actions of all characters, regardless if they've been involved heavily with the movies to this point (Niobe, Ghost, Osiris crew, et al.)
Sure, all of this ARG can lead up to TMO, so we can't ignore that option either. All I'm saying is we have to take into account all aspects of the Wachowski's creation. Even if this ARG is fan created, most fans will want to stay true to continuity.
Again, I still don't know what the point of this is...

Guys, there's supporting evidence that suggests that this game is nothing more than a really good fan-made ARG. Why does this conversation keep occurring over and over?

well neo is no more in metacortechs in the beginning of M1 so i gues we begin in the end or middle of M1. Also, if it's following the timeline, it means that we will hear abou smith soon, well the day before revolution come out. I think that this day will be the day we enter MO. But i might be wrong. We will find it when the revolution goes live.
