I like that idea JamiroFan2000, some sort of barcode walkthrough for Space Paranoids Online would be handy.

Until then: I haven't stumbled on any barcodes just yet, still not sure whether I'm supposed to drive through walls (a la Doom and Wolfenstein) or blast them. I'm not sure if the barcodes are hidden behinds odd wall sections either. Any help/tips would be great, thanks everyone!

You can drive through the "fake" walls, which otherwise look just like ordinary walls. Didn't try shooting them.

Well I am not sure what I experienced. I entered one of the data fields on sector 13, and then the data stream animation started to glitch, in a way that looked on purpose. Then it faded out, and when I appeared I was in the air. I was able to look down bellow me at the ground, and move around. Then as I went to do a screen cap a recognizer got me on my last life.

Maybe it was just a glitch though. idk.

Umm... is it normal to be teleported up into a recognizer and take control of of?

Remember, this is the arcade game we see in the real world, not the experience you have in the computer world. The latter is what you are describing.

something tells me that we won't be able to get up on the leader boards, I was able to get to level 9 without dying and was at about 50000 points, with only 6 levels to go, hard to say how to get into the 700000's

Well I'm not sure there's anything to it, but a couple weeks back the Encom Employee Intranet was updated with a message (or two) that referred to glitches in the game. And one of today's messages refers to the glitches also.

For todays message about glitches see JamiroFan2000's update *link* it's the first one.

Sector 12 I teleported outside the maze. If the maze (and I'm using an example here) was a 10x10 grid, the maze and the surrounding outside walls occupied the middle 8x8. There was a strip of floor occupying the outside of the maze. There where no walls, just blue sky and blue floor beyond the maze. I couldn't find a way back into the maze and ventured into the blue and about two squares out (we'll say -1,-1) the game froze.
Was kinda interesting.

What about the high scores at the end of the game?

Each high score is 6 digits. If you pair them together, they're just as long as the codes entered into helloflynn.com. I wonder if specific combinations will open something else....

I was teleported out of the maze on level 12 also (I'm pretty sure it was level 12) -- I traveled around the outside for a bit still on the "ground", and then started over.

Perhaps there is some sort of secret outside the maze on level 12?

For those who feel playing this game in a small box on a webpage just doesn't do it justice I figured out this little trick.

http://spaceparanoidsonline.com/Tron2v7.unity3d

Follow this link to access the tron unity application directly, and then hit F11 to put your browser into fullscreen mode. And there you have it Space Paranoids Online in full screen glory. Enjoy.

I went through and tallied up the enemies on each level and their point values. You can view it below.

http://spreadsheets.google.com/ccc?key=0Au7Fi483jIaMdHIxaGFKMGFNZGhJNUtTcnpaRlBSVGc&hl=en

With this you can see that by completing the game you receive a total of 87200. Unless you continued a game and started off at zero points it is impossible to finish the game with a lower or higher score. Accuracy does not affect point values.

Also, by this you can deduce that unless 42entertainment expands the game later on then no user will ever make the scoreboard. The lowest score placed by Flynn is 734050 which is 646850 higher than we can possible get right now.

Additionally anyone notice that this appears to be exactly the game they had in the cabinet for those lucky few that made it to Flynn's Arcade event down in San Diego? Can anyone that was lucky enough to play it there verify this?

Right down to the score screen. (This is actually what tipped me off)

Well, they are both Space Paranoids Razz

That said, this is definitely a new version. This version felt much easier, though perhaps that's due to controls, and I don't recall tanks and turrets in the SDCC version.
