I saw and my mind was all " Cool Dude, I've killed things cooler than that"

And then I realized that Fallout 3 would make a fun ARG. Laughing

Anyways, I'm guessing it's a date, but I'll wait to place my final bets.

I think it means that w/e verse it is, it's the 47th out of 35:77. Just my thoughts on it.

Look at the number its from.

35:77//47.

Generally bible verses are notated as [Name] XX:YY. I'm thinking that if you go to the 35th section, and the 77th line, of one of the books ( most likely old testament) the 47th word will be Ark.

May dig out a bible tonight, if not i'll try tomorrow.

Kay. I am looking through a King James Bible right now, and the 35th book is Habbakuk.

The only thing is, Habbakuk only has 13 verses. I'm pretty sure the only book with more than 77 verses is Psalms.

Anyway, the text subject is most likely a location. There will probably be another clue regarding that.

Chucking it through basic decoders doesn't get much, either. The closest I can see is DEC/Char which turns out: "#M/" XD... but I really don't think that a 'number of masky-slash' is on the agenda, unless it's going to be a slasher with knives or something. *snort*

My other thought was that ':' and '//' looked like doubling up of multiplication and division signs: ':' could be a clever way to show '•' which is 'multiply by', while '//' could be a doubling up of '/' which is 'divide by'. I'm definitely not a number person... so I'm not expecting to glean answers out of a number riddle. But maybe we need to crunch some numbers before you get your correct bible verse? Maybe there is more than one verse for a couple or all of those numbers.

is it weird if i think the only important thing to take from this text is the 41810? haha i don't think the number it was sent from has any particular meaning. that being said, the format of the numbers is indeed odd.

Yeah, I agree that the date(?) is probably all we were supposed to look at. But it'd be nifty if the numbers at the top held some meaning of their own.

"Oh god, his battery is half empty! Or... or is it half FULL?! WHAT DOES IT MEAN?!"

;P

Well lets think people, what numbers commonly come in five digit sets, shall we?

Area codes.(Kentucky according to google)
Dates.
IP Adress port listings(By the way, tried that, and its completely locked up)
Counts(Of anything)

What else?

Also as to the number which sent it, from what I can gather, there is no line 77 from verse 35 of the psalms. (http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Psalm+35&version=NIV)

However, there is a 77 book.

Therefor lets psalm lets assume we are to read the 4 and the 7 line, as that's the closes breakdown of the number from which is was sent from, assuming that the // mean for the number following to be split in half.

The lines would be:

Psalm 35 wrote:
May those who seek my life
be disgraced and put to shame;
may those who plot my ruin
be turned back in dismay.

Psalm 77 wrote:
Will the Lord reject forever?
Will he never show his favor again?

However, this all takes way to much stretching to believe. Thus do I propose that the number is not a reference to the bible in any way, but perhaps another piece of work. I've checked the Torah, and found nothing. 35 refers to a passage in exodus, but nothing comes close to 77 lines.

The numbers
A different way to look at them

I wish that just once, Jay would give us something to actually figure out. I mean, we figured out it was a date, but that was ridiculously easy, and it doesn't really add anything to the story. I'd love for this 32:44//77 thing to mean something, but what are the chances that it actually will? Not very high.

Still going to try though.

I've searched for the numbers in exactly that sequence, and it came up an inordinate amount of times. The first result dealing with some sort of surveyor's document. The numbers were actually quadrants on a map. It's an interesting coincidence, but probably just a coincidence, although it does point me in a different direction.

What if these numbers point to something other than the bible, as other than the use of "the ark" and the word "deluge," this story has had very little to do with any biblical text. Anyone have any other ideas? [/u]

I figured it might be a url shortener, but J never uses those in his Twitter posts. I tried TinyURL, which sent me to an Elmer Fudd search for mousepads (since it didn't use the //47 part at the end, it's definitely not the solution).

35:77//47 looks like a contact name displayed by the iPhone interface. I don't have an iPhone, so can anyone tell me if a device can send the user's name in a text without the user existing in your contact list? That seems like the easiest way around it just displaying the phone number. The "Call" and "Contact Info" buttons are available, so could J call them back or try to view more info about the "anonymous source?

Sweet, something in the story is going to happen in 13 days, which means it will be about a full month before we actually get new content.

Personally, I think the date thing makes the most sense. Decoders probably aren't going to turn up anything significant.

Says who? That could just mean that endgame is coming on 4/18/10, or the climax of the story. Something really important. Not the very next thing happening within the series.

And even nothing happens before then, who cares? You've never got anything optimistic to say. If you're really so fed up with how the story's going and how people on this forum act, then why are you still here?

Maybe 41810 corresponds to a location. I know it's a Zipcode in Kentucky.

One: I'm an atheist and my family is very non-religious, so most biblical referencing in MH tends to go over my head, so I'm glad there are more knowledgeable people here to dig and do research in that area. Thanks guys! And I agree that 41810 is probably a date and hope that something will happen by then.

Two: Keeping your cell phone when you're running away and trying to hide? REALLY GREAT IDEA THERE JAY.
