I agree I am in a predictiment. I hope by releasing it all tomorrow when I am home after my writeup will work

Unbunch your panties everyone, you will get your clues.

For the record, the "shots" I'm taking are not at Carbonfiber, or any named individual for that matter (well, they would be at a named individual if one of the handler trolls of gknova came out and named themself). I could give a sh*t how quickly he releases any information he's been given. All of my frustrations and the frustrations of everyone else that's taken a part in this; cod fans, uF and the like(if there is anyone else), are a reflection of how poorly managed this was. I have a problem with the "puppetmasters" of this "viral marketing campaign" becaue a) IMO they don't make the cut to even be considered "puppetmasters". How cool is it when the "puppets" you intend to target all along are actually just your own choir who were previously and despite future undertakings will ever be singing your praises? Shouldn't puppeteering be somewhat of a challenge in and of itself? And b) how "viral" can this thing actually be considered? So it went viral amongst, once again, the choir. Just how viral is that, honestly was there anyone else but uber 1337 cod fan posting youtube videos about this or up in arms excited for it (and of course those at uF as well)? All news sites dropped any coverage so quick it was like the thing never existed....

This was mis-managed, bottom line and those who weren't COD fans previously but have been tempted to buy Black Ops now just because of gknova I think are near non-existent. So what exactly is there left to argue about then if this thing is near irrelevant for anyone other than cod fan? There's really nothing left to bicker about. The arguments should all be taking place in Call of Duty forums about who's closest friends with Carbon now or whatever else you wanna debate about but it's pretty obvious that this has little to no business here any longer......other than to stir shmit up lol!

This wasn't the most poorly conceived game by any stretch of the imagination, SamuelofR247. The puzzles looked fun. I say looked because I didn't actually participate. Everyone seemed to enjoy it until recently at any rate. The production value was much better than average I would say, although the usenet bits were kind of lackluster. If I had to make one complaint, I'd say there wasn't enough character development and/or interaction. I think I would have probably contributed a bit more if I felt something for the characters. Perhaps we should try to keep the criticism a bit more constructive.

Yeah, I'm getting pretty negative on this thing aren't I lol. Kinda causing a little undue stress on myself really... sorry about that. I'll try and stick to forums I'm enjoying so I can keep my blood pressure down lol...

It's not "YOUR" ARG game. It's a crafty marketing ploy from treyarch. The GAME will be released 11/9/2010. How many arg guys are actually interested in call of duty? Five? Less?

Why do you think they gave carbon the briefcase? And he was invited to treyarch studios? Probably because he loves COD, and nazi zombies...not to mention has his own site dedicated to them.

You guys, however, are only interested in this marketing 'game' only as long as it lasts. So don't stand here and lecture us about how stupid he is for doing what he's doing. If you don't like it, go find another stupid marketing ploy from another insanely large corporation that only wants to generate buzz for their next product.

Lolreally because according to the alleged hit list, this game belongs more to unFiction than it does to CoDz.

carbonfibah: from CoDz
Vosty3: from CoDz
AzureWolf: from unFiction
MrToasty: from unFiction
Shizzire: from unFiction
PerdíElJuego: from unFiction
Shoreyo: from CoDz

carbonfibah: from CoDz
Vosty3: from CoDz
AzureWolf: from unFiction
MrToasty: from unFiction
Shizzire: from unFiction *and* CoDz
PerdíElJuego: from unFiction *and* CoDz
Shoreyo: from CoDz

So you can't really count Shizzire and PerdíElJuego since they are on both, so that makes CoDz: 3, uF: 2. I don't care either way who it "belongs" to, I just wanted to point that out.

Again it all depends on your perspective. People who have never heard of an 'ARG' before (I hadn't heard the term till I visted here) might think of this as 'cool'. Hardcore ARG...ARGers?..anyways, you guys might think its a poorly managed piece of crap game. My point is I don't think they care. "They" being treyarch.

For the record I'm not a "fanboy" of any game developer. For instance: I play Battlefield 1942 for the PC and have for the past..6 years? Anyways, EA/DICE decided to release "Battlefield 1943" for consoles (PC release date:between now and the end of the world). I played it on the xbox. It was fucking crap. I'm beginning to think DICE's creation of BF1942 was a combination of skill, luck, and maybe some planetary alignment.

Anyways, A MAIN POINT I want to make about these 'viral' campaigns is: I think they are marketed to people who are ALREADY interested in the product. I hadn't heard of "i love bees" until I visited here either. Looking on wikipedia I see there have been ARGs for many different game titles & movies as well. You know how many I've noticed before: Zero. If I wasn't a COD fan, I wouldn't know or care what gknova6.com is. The only reason you guys know is that you enjoy these games and actively look for them.

I'm not trying to 'bicker' or argue, I just think its a way for companies to create excitement in their community before a product's release. NOT to gain attention from non-fans. That's why they didn't send USB drives to Good Housekeeping or Autoweek. They wouldn't care. Well, once they found out it was for a game, that is.

heh, as they said, he tossed you under the bus, in more than one way though.
At least they don't have your address.

At least until they realize the yellow pages are good for something.

My apologies Carbon. However, in my defense, this is information that you have already made public. All I did was consolidate the info, for the purpose of playing the game. I had no intention of harm. I will redact that info immediately...

and this is the guy that said on a codZ thread "But I'm a firm believer in not speaking unless you have something to say. "

Someone at the CoDz forums is reporting a phone number found on one of the Black Ops posters that leads to some odd music mixed in with a series of tones.

(877)386-4270

http://www.callofdutyzombies.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=16&t=365

Audio of phone call:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bQOmtZ0PhK4

And here's the image from the poster (credit to DrKillshot24 from CoDz):

I can't call the line for myself here, but it does seem odd that the phone number was placed discretely, borderline hidden, on a single poster received during pre-order.

I have no idea if this is part of this game or not, but it's worth mentioning here.

If it isn't part of the game, then someone is either a) disturbed, or b) needs a girlfriend...

When I say "not part of the game", I mean that it could have been put there by the company that printed the poster for all I know.

I'm not saying it's a "gamejack" or an attempt to distract us.

I tried calling it, got the same ice cream truck music and tones. Honestly, I don't think it could be anything but an ARG because it's so strange.

Also, I noticed the tones sort of sound like a fax tone. Anyone have one?

3121614 or

31 21 61 4 or

3 1 2 1 6 1 4

That's the number of tones between each chime.

Does it mean anything to anyone? lol
