I'm sorry, I'm a bit confused as to how "novasix" could be Baconian Text. From what I can tell that cipher is made up of nothing but A's and B's. If anyone could explain that to me how this works it would be much appreciated. Thank you very much.

I don't think it is, but since you asked so nicely for an explanation Smile : The Bacon cipher can be done with A's and B's, but it can also be done with anything that can be classified as A's and B's. For example, it could be done with two shapes, or it could be done with bold letters and plain letters, or it could be done with something else entirely. So if "novasix" was a Bacon cipher using, say, vowels = A and consonants = B, that would make the ciphertext BABABAB.

The audio at www.gknova6.com has a woman speak the letters "M-O-D" (then three tones) followed by 12 groups of 5 letters separated by "error" beeps. Each letter is spoken by either a man or a woman. If you substitute "A" for the female voice and "B" for the male voice, you get a series of 12 five-letter groups that correspond to the Baconian cipher alphabet (see http://www.purplehell.com/riddletools/bacon.htm). Working through the audio to get the twelve A-B combinations will give you the solution to the code.

Cheers.

There has been one campaign previously for Singularity.

This ended when the game was delayed IIRC, so it is not out of the realm of possibility that it would pick up again.

I just posted a round up at MovieViral (more about the debate over which game it's for than the viral).

I knew the exploding flower pot looked familiar.

The fact that it was sent to a COD site doesn't mean it's COD; Activision's marketing department (or whoever they use for that function) probably reuses their contact information so they could send anyone anything. There's nothing in the privacy policy that says communication must be COD-specific.

I know people at Raven, but I doubt they'll tell me anything.

Just to throw it out there did anyone else notice that on the GKNOVA6 site you can tune the tv set to clear up the picture?

Sounds a lot like some of those awesomely creepy numbers stations, I'm intrigued.

I understand, but it's more likely to be COD related if it's sent to COD fans. But who knows for sure, the site doesn't give any information as to what game it's for.

It's seems there are a lot of possibilities here as to what this could be marketing for.

Call of Duty

Google Analytics number that has been used exclusively by Activision - this is pretty compelling evidence that the game is something by Activision but that doesn't mean it has anything to do with a call of duty game. None of the pages with the number have had anything to do with the series.

COD fans received the USB - In my research I haven't found anything that indicates that other then the media outlets "only" COD fans received the USB but everyone I can find that said they did has ties to Activision in some way. So this is just more evidence that it could be an Activision game not necessarily COD.

The flavor of the site ties in with COD 7 - Personally I have no idea what people are talking about here. The rumors about Call of Duty 7 (black ops) indicate that it will take place in 70's era Vietnam with missions including the 1980's sieging of the Iranian Embassy. Although Vietnam was from 59 to 75 the site has a 60's cold war nuclear feel and COD is a later era. Also people say it ties in with COD's zombie mode and there is no indication that the site has anything to do with zombies or it's plot that takes place in 1942.

Singularity

It is just as likely the the above clues point to this games since it is an Activision game but to me it has a bit of an edge since it's plot feel more like the site feels. Although the time line is again a bit off, taking place in 1950 and 2010 rather than the 60's.

Fallout

The big problem with this series is it doesn't fit in with Activision evidence but we can't be 100% sure it is in fact an Activision title and there is nothing specifically to do with Vegas but...

The USB came from Maryland - Bethesda is based out of Maryland . Some have said Maryland can be tied to Activision because MarkMonitor is also based out of Maryland. From my reserch this isn't true, MarkMonitor is in San Francisco, CA.

The apparent era of the site - We see clues on the site indicating that what ever game this is, has to do with JFK, 1960's and nuclear weapons or power. This fit's in perfect with the early Fallout time line. Some people have cited that the fallout time line would not have included JFK but this is incorrect. The time line starts to slightly diverge from ours in 1961 and completely changes in 1969. It is unknown whether Nixon was in 1968 like in the real world, or whether he became President as early as 1961, instead of John F. Kennedy so JFK may still have been president.

Richard Wright Stamp - The stamp use to mail the USB depicted Richard Wright in my research can be connected to Communism, JFK and New York (some say the baseball stadium is Yankee Stadium). Although the Historical figure Richard Wright is not in fallout, references to him are and a character Richard Wright can be found in Fallout 2.

BioShock

I've come up with this one wile researching but I'm not sure if anything Bioshock related is comming out anytime soon.

The USB came from Maryland - Firaxis Games a subsidiary of Take2 is based out of Maryland.

The apparent era of the site - This fits even better than any of the other games in my opinion. The Bioshock time line runs right through the 50's and 60's and has that cool retro futurism feel that both Fallout and the website has.

And where the heck does that leave us? Sitting and waiting for the second week in April lol. It could be any one of those games or even something totally different.
