So are we any closer to actually deciphering what the significance is behind the locations we've been given? is there any chance that the first letters could be a cypher of some sort?

observations

I've been watching this from the start and wanted to contribute. Here is what I have...

I have seen a trend of nearly everything that is in plain site to contain keys to finding more information. I believe there are a few things that are in front of our faces that have not been used yet.

1. The photo featured on the TV during the second transmission at gknova6.com
is so in our faces, there has to be something hidden here other then the possible time line of the game...

It was taken by Ralph Crane on October 22, 1962.

The main thing that springs to mind is that the photo is watermarked with LIFE on the website. If the game was Singularity wouldn't it be marked TIME MAGAZINE or similar?

2. If you go to buy the photo at this site http://www.qoop.com/photobooks/framed_prints/layout.php you can zoom in and manipulate the image a little.

All that realy stood out for me was the lady in the bottom right corner with the white hat and dark glasses and the baby on the bottom left. There is no way to get their names or the store name from what I can tell.

3. My most hopeful lead is that there is a statue near the CIA headquarters found in the co-ordinates.

It is called 'Kryptos' and it contains, you guessed it, codes! According to wikipedia it is "one of the most famous unsolved codes in the world". Find it here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kryptos

The wiki page contains way too much information for one post…
Here we get who made the sculpture (Jim Sandborn)http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jim_Sanborn

When the sculpter made this he also placed a bunch of other items on the grounds of CIA headquaters like a copper slab with morse code on it.

A group dedicated to decrypting the message hidden in the sculpture can be found here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jim_Sanborn I think they would find our codes easy lol.

Also interesting, The sculpter made similar peices titled "Antipodes" – which has a lot to do with places on earth as detailed here http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Antipodes

Another titled "Cyrillic Projector" which includes text in Russian and some of the code found in the sculpture on the CIA grounds repeated.

4. When going to the classifieds page on somd.com I get this message "ERR-C-BAD-ASU: We're Sorry, but this page is no longer available." It is making me think that they have closed it as we have solved everything that was relating to the page... Or, we may have just overloaded their server lol.

5. I saw somewhere that a poster researched the owner of GKNOVA6.com and found that they also owned a seemingly unrelated limo company web site. Later, someone translated the numberplate into a phone number and there was a child's voice leaving a message. Did this go any further?

These may be deadends but worth a shot...

Unfortunately, this was actually upon researching gknova.com (sans the "6" at the end of the domain name). Gknova.com is a strange site too, no doubt about it but I did a little research. The owner is an actually person named "Gokhan Karakus". "Larryslimosedans.com" came up when googlling "gknova.com". And larryslimosedans.com is also strange in and of itself, there are odd misspellings and almost zero content. However, there's a phone number right in your face on the main page if you visit it. I called this number and it's some lady who I don't really think had anyone to do with it. Like the site's real old and the phone number has been re-issued or something.

I've got much more I can add but I wanna make sure everyone here is cool with me posting away lol.....

I was under the impression that the number dialed had something to do with the liscence plate... I'll have to try and find the original source

Could have been, I'm not sure...i didn't really take it much further after I made the phone call.

Over here http://www.movieviral.com/2010/04/09/gknova6-classified-announcement-somd-new-code/ there have been some interesting leads as well, where they're going I have no idea. One thing that's for sure with me is that it seems as if everyone who's cracking the "BIG CODES" seems to stop at that point and the "in your face" stuff; such as the code to come up with "APRIL WEEK TWO" and the coordinates to the gov't locations are distractions or diversions. They just seem too obvious, and the pieces we're given less blatently are what are grabbing my attention the most.

At the end of the first transmission the one that came in the envelope, the man's voice said "Don't believe everything you see" there was also something uttered inaudibly @ 1:02 on that same recording towards the end that I can't seem to isolate. But our clue to what type of Cipher it was (Caesar Cipher in this instance) came before the code was read off in the form of a Caesar quote. It was up to us to find a way to crack it and unless I'm incorrect "Don't believe everything you see" didn't guide us to an online "Caesar Cipher Decoder" of sorts.
Then, upon cracking the first we get to view our next lead at gknova6.com. This transmission once again, gives us the clue to the type of cipher we need to use in the form of a quote by Francis Bacon (which could be found, just like the Caesar one, by simply googling the quote). But then, "Hell is Purple" comes at the end of this transmission and conveniently leads us right to "PurpleHell.com" and the online Bacon Cipher Decoder. By figuring out that the quote was by Francis Bacon and that Bacon too had a cipher, we wouldn't have just found a way to crack it ourselves, like we have with the others?
And now, we have our third transmission currently at gknova6.com as well as a "fourth" in the form of a PSA at somd.com.
Ok, this third transimission works exactly in the same way; the clue at the beginning to tell us what type of Cipher it is (Gronsfeld). The code is spoken we figure it out but only one place have I seen so far where anyone is researching "You can see the whole spectrum", which is uttered towards the end of this third transmission, or second channel on gknova6.com. Googling "You can see the whole spectrum" or "The Whole Spectrum" has led me in many different directions, some which proved interesting. But why has this dialouge been ignored?
Next, the PSA at somd.com. Eve Reign is our clue as an anagram for the Vigenere cipher blah blah blah, an extremely talented person cracks this ungodly code which leads the world on a wild goose chase and now we're going in circles trying figure out the connection between the Kremlin, the CIA hdqtrs, the White House and so on. At the end of this code though we get what seems to be two more anagrams for "Vigenere Cipher". "You can find me at the Cheeping River, near the Cheering Viper". So, we're told THREE times what type of Cipher we're to use on the somd code? I understand the number 3 was crucial in getting the key "sputnik" and I'm not sure if an anagram for Vigenere Cipher appearing three times is what Mr Toasty used to track this down. His skills far exceed mine lol!

But what this leads me to believe is that based on their patterns they've been giving us some confusing and what seems to be distracting verbage at the end of each code transmission which may mean more than we think.

For instance; how did "Don't believe everything you see" & "You can see the whole spectrum" help us in cracking the codes?

Here's the extracted video from the gknova6 site for easier viewing if anyone wants it: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0CQIUybuGEs

Needless to say, I'm lurking around here as this has certainly garnered my interest. Smile

I am definitely with you on this. It seemed odd that we got the co-ordinates then the trail stopped...

If they kept to the same convention we would have at least found a mention of when the next transmission would be delivered.

I'm not sure if it means anything but i tried to google ["don't believe everything you see" spectrum] (without the brackets, just showing the actual search term...and http://www.zuschlogin.com/?page_id=70 came up. when you scroll to the bottom there's an April 2010 post about "Singularity"

they talk about computers getting smarter than people, hadron colliders, and some sort of "future"-blog type thing... I don't have time to do any more research, but thought it was interesting that I came up with that and wanted to post it here for you guys that may have time to see if it means anything.

Either it's a massive coincidence, or the theory I presented at Escapist forums that it was an ARG for the game "Singularity" was right all along.

I'm thinking coincidence...or maybe a planned "coincidence" to mislead. I do not believe it will be for Singlarity, or at least i hope not. I know they said it wasn't but i'm hoping it's fallout still (more than COD anyway), or something else entirely that hasn't been announced or discussed publicly.

I don't think too many of the gaming studios or their publishers would take the time and effort to make a creative viral like this. There's one game I havn't even seen discussed that has very dedicated and smart individuals behind it that have been working on it for years...but havn't release ANY details about it yet.

I'm not going to say what I'm referring to yet incase i'm way off (likely haha) but the problem is with them not having anything to do with MD. It doesn't mean they don't have people there anyway, or they're just making it all look like that to throw people off, I'm just saying this doesn't feel like a COD ad-campaign. It feels very Fallout, but in reverse...like it would be for a prequel or something.

This thing is driving me insane haha, i just want to know already. Anyway, I just want to put my money on saying it's not COD, Fallout, Singularity, or anything I've seen guesed yet. It's too low-key for an activision advert, and it doesn't fit the fallout timeline (not to mention they denied it). it also doesn't really fit the release timeline of singularity even though there are many clues pointing in that direction. Here's hoping DICE has something to do with it Razz

First off, it shows no link to what we know of GKNova6 (which, admittedly, isn't much, but still).

Secondly, if you notice at the bottom of that entry it states that it was posted April 1st. I don't take anything posted on that day seriously.
