If seasoned ARG'ers could answer the following q's it might help us to understand:

How long before the reveal of the final product does an ARG typically start???
Is it usual to end an ARG a number of months before the launch of the product it is promoting??
Is it usual to suddenly have a pause in the ARG when the game has been regularily updated up until that point???

I'm not an experienced ARG'er, but here is the case of Portal ARG:
1. Portal ARG started from March 3, 2010, and Portal 2 is supposed to be released on Q4 2010(according to Valve Time, of course). The announcement of Portal 2 was on March 3, 2010.
2. Not end officially, but no activities are seen in Portal ARG for almost two months.
3. Portal ARG is currently paused.

That's right, but in this example the pause has a reason and was started by an announcement (E3).
In GKNova6, no announcement has been made and we're at a point where we don't really know what's to do and what's going to happen.

well hopefully the trailer on the 18th tells us something we dont know or ties together the things we do know with what were skeptical about...

edit: check out this trailer to the trailer on the 18th...

i notice off of first glance that there is either a rocket about to be launched (freedom 7) or some type of missile...

edit2: i dont know why my link isn't linking but i guess just copy and paste it...

You see, *that* is sufficient confirmation for me: the ARG uses a term that nobody knows about and is later revealed in a public article.

I'm picky that way. Razz

The only thing that may not be solved is if "Dragonsbreath" has any significance beyond the name he chose. Could be an anagram for some gas or element (I see argon but nothing else). Could be a reference to shotgun shells or something else, haven't looked into it much really. Seems to me it would have some significance.....

So to summarize real quick (and this is just to set my own mind at "ease" so to speak) other than the gamejacker deal yesterday and the recently discovered Treyarch "proof" we've actually had no futher updates since transmission6/7?

Is Boba's idea to take a look at the patterns in Transmission 7 still the only lead presented here on the forums since the "password" was discovered?

Has anyone received any emails or anything?

Just wanna clarify through all the confusion....

*ETA: I've thrown the document together with Kaltern's version of the GK logo included...

I don't know, that's kinda the question I was eluding to in my last post but no one's responded...

*ETA: One things almost over for certain and that's pretty much everyone's excitement and motivation to keep going with this "arg". Well, except for the zombie guys, they're still fired up!

I know that gknova6SPLATgmail.com sent carbonfibah from the COD zombies forum an email. It seems that they are aware that there are trolls posing as them. The email said:
Quote:
Transmissions have been intercepted. Remain vigilant. Further communication may be necessary. EOM.

However, this may have been a troll as well. It's easy enough to spoof an email address.

I have definitively proved you can spoof emails on usenet/google groups:

Knew it was you. The poem thing at the bottom was an acrostic poem for azure wolf.

Sorry, did I miss something. Is this page legit?? It seems so but nobody is working on it. Or has everybody given up??
I know "Nova Agent" is a fake but this post comes from "Nova 6" who has posted to us several times. Is it possible for sombody (gamehacker) to make a new account with the same name???
So many questions.
ETA: Just looked back over the 'fake' post and the above said one. The fake was posted first. Then we got this 40 mins later

Sorry to make my first post here a somewhat off-topic one...

What does the PS style "ETA" mean?

Maybe I can bring SOME sort of purpose to this post:
I'm following both CoDZ and uF forums, but spend the majority of my time reading CoDZ. I just replied to a post there stating the meaning of GK. Could I get any of uF's input on this?
-------------------------------
Geilenkirchen (pronunciation: gile-in ker-shin)
is a town in the district Heinsberg, in North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany. It is situated near the border with the Netherlands, on the river Wurm, approx. 15 km north-east of Heerlen and 20 km north of Aachen.
The town gives its name to nearby NATO Air Base Geilenkirchen.
The base is home to 17 E-3A Airborne Warning and Control (AWAC) aircraft manned by crews from 14 nations.

And, this is probably irrelevant (not unlike this entire post, I'm sure) but I found this interesting, as well:
Geilenkirchen licence plate: HS (until 1971: GK)

Well yeah, but there's a big difference between one of us thinking "aren't those shotgun shells?" and seeing it printed verbatim in a national magazine.

So yeah... moving on... Razz

About the logo... There is a definite "break" seen in the k and g, as in my avatar. When the "arrow" shows up on screen, it doesn't go to the top and bottom edges of the screen, whereas the circles do...

I know it's pretty sad to be discussing the correctness of a logo, but I'm bored...
