The story was strong, characters were good and gave up a lot of info.

I don't exactly know what when wrong with the puzzle with the letters.

The puzzles with the numbers are relatively easy to crack since there are a lot of translators available on the web:
http://home2.paulschou.net/tools/xlate/ (for binary/decimal/hex ascii)
http://www.nickciske.com/tools/octal.php (for octal)

Nonetheless, I didn't mind doing those puzzles, they're fun to do.

Finally, I like the use of the websites but I think we only managed to find like 2 of them on our own? It would have been interesting to find them all on our own, but I know you probably wanted to move the story along faster. I think if you were patient with us, we could have discovered them and it would have made a funner experience.

But active characters are definitely a plus. Lots of back-and-forth conversation is always good fun. Just wish I knew what was being said most of the time!

Hey! Nickciske was the one I used for all the encoding Very Happy

Also, yeah, I know what you mean. I just didn't know if you'd be able to find them. I think I'll definitely make all my hints subtle next time. Little hints hidden around various websites. Having to trawl through just to gather bits of binary.

Haha! That story was pretty creepy I have to say! I was looking over my shoulder for an hour after reading it.

Well, I used to be obsessed with writing horror lol. Spent my time focusing on Cyberpunk stuff right now.

EDIT:

Tried to attach the file, but it doesn't allow ODT. When I get back from the shop I'll save it as a .txt and attach.

Just so you know in the future, though, you probably realize this from this previous post, but using UF forums for a game is not exactly kosher. In my (admittedly limited) experience, basically the UF forums are considered OOG and the PM (and the PM's characters) should stay out of it until the game is over. So setting up the trailhead as Therius? Generally frowned upon.

But you've got some email contacts now, so next time you start up an ARG, consider those fair game! I'll keep an eye out and post up a trailhead if I come across one.

Here's a link to the thread on general rules of the forum for reference.[/url]

Yeah, I just couldn't figure a way to get it out there lol. But, good news: I do have another idea in the works. As you know, my puzzles look insane, and can be hard, and easy at the same time! This will be difficulty turned up a notch. Or three notches.

Right now, all I really know is it'll be based around a group of hackers. Smile

Lol really? Awesome!
Nah, don't give it to me- use it in another ARG. I mean, did we close the boundary? I don't think posse really contributed enough energy! There's still time for the characters to come back!

If I were to give you some advice it would be to think of an imaginative way to release the trailhead (idont worry, I've done the same thing!).
I'd love to play again.

So FYI at the last minute/very end I had decided to tune to save Sheoul and the others. Here are the emails I had received from skstnmaogoohmSPLATmail.com from tuning:

And when the sun rises, and the moon falls. There shall be a moment of utter tranquility. The very second they, both two great eyes, meet, coerce, and are aligned. At this very moment, the horizon shall be both aflame and cold. It will be beautiful, and terrible. Dark and blindingly bright. The utter quake of parting. The sadness of losing one's self to the sky and the moon. As all things fall, as they too must rise. And in the seconds of terrible tranquility, all that shall remain is the only thing that matters.

And when you look for it, you'll see that only you bore witness. As hands were clasped tightly together in ascending chorus of tears and joy, the world was washed clean of the nights and the sights.

Only you and you who saw the truth, shall remember the truth if you choose to. The only way to find the truth, is to go to where it was. It vanished once before, and it came back. The truth, is a funny thing, a funny ball. The truth, the truth of it all.

Hehe posse you dynamic hero! Saving the day.

Therius, I say keep the dictionary for next time - release your next trailhead to me or posse in Phaeshull and we'll spread it.

Yeah definitely, if the trailhead ends up to be in PhaeShull that would be awesome! Laughing
