Note, because of the sheer volume of information, anything unsolved is marked in blue.
Note two, the PM/design company that made this is German and as such, in-game periods and commas are interchangable.

Summary So Far

Dr Griffin, a 57 year old from California, posted a video on YouTube from a stationary mid-Pacific buoy. There is no actual video feed as the camera has stopped working, but one can hear ocean noises and then what sounds like a large aquatic animal. Strangly, the recording is from a future date, May 22nd, 2009 (5.22.2009). Griffin also links to his website, signal4514.com.

Through a series of riddles and hidden messages, Griffin seems to be trying to warn that a very large dangerous creature (or possibly even multiple) has risen out of the depths of the ocean and will be heading towards more inhabited cities. Griffin had contact with a General Scott , likely from the Office of Naval Intelligence, to give a report on the noises from the video. He also leads us to 17 year old Adam Kessler Jr. who is frightened and alone without any idea what happened.

{Updt1} The title of the page "19.9.7.14.1.12_4514" uses a simple numeric subtitution cipher (IE a=1, b=2, etc.) and translates to: Signal_Dead {Thanks to the blog}

Waiting on the main page long enough eventually leads to an audio clip of a message machine beep followed by a distraught young male saying "Mom, where are you? Please, call back!". Ominous music plays for a while, then it ends with static. It's packaged in a swf file titled "the evil lives".

the > 3|1|1|1 _ {left arrow*} 1|1|1|3 + s [Insert code] {* inserting the actual symbol messes with the forum codes.} This hasn't been figured out yet.

Using the date from the youtube video (5.22.2009) for [Insert date] leads to http://www.signal4514.com/pieces.html

Highlighting the main page shows the name "Alan Kessler Jr." and a google search turns up both a Facebook account and a FotoCommunity account.

8,5x = (1/16)x² + (1/2)x + 200 [x1] [x2] {Updt1} Solving the equation gives x1= 34,06 x2= 93,93; which when entered leads to http://www.signal4514.com/airplane.html {Thanks to AUZ505}

There is a jpg here that when filled says "The Þ is awake." Þ is thurisaz from the runic alphabet and means "giant/monster", so "The giant is awake." There are also what look like mayan symbols with a 22 inbetween. Maybe the date again? -- 5.22.2009

Emailing the address gives an auto-response with the original video url. The coordinates are for the Scripps Institution of Oceanography in San Diego. ONI is probably the Office of Naval Intelligence. As with /pieces.html, the colors correspond with the letters they're under and rearranging them in the bottom order spells out "aggr5ssion".

Was posted on 09-30-08 and is titled "signal". It says "sir we received a signal..." and shows a sound wave and the Earth. (Is there any way to translate the visual waves back into sound?). It also has some Greek text at the bottom "ψέμα" hich means "lie". Filling the black reveals "4:05:14", the beginning timestamp on the YouTube video.

There's some speculation that this is related to the Cloverfeld sequel but I really don't think so. For one, the WHOIS returns a German company called Sunny-Zasta Entertainment. Not to mention that it already seems there is a C2 viral. My guess would be that it's a separate game; and with a quote from the Necronomicon and a picture of a tentacle, my vote's for Cthulhu. Very Happy

 		I'd bet money on the fact that this ISN'T a C2 viral. Paramount wouldn't host their stuff under a German name on 1&1 Internet... would they? Razz

Can't read much of it since a lot of the kanji is directly Japenese, not from Chinese. Only thing I can make out is "li" - which means power.

Whew, that's all I can figure out. If this is Cthulhu, woot.

There is another recent game that uses that same hosting service, 1&1 Internet.

Do not know if they are possibly related or not.

And, yeah, definitely not C2 related; if it is, it certainly isn't "official". Bit early for that, don't you think?

It's actually "katakana". It says "オカルト" (READ: okuruto), which means "occult".

Edit: Btw, I think this is a Cthulhu ARG (:
