Heres a thought I just had. If it does turn to be two different people wearing skull masks, then just maby there is more than two people wearing the skull masks. Maby it is a secret society of people who are
fighting against slender man

Just a thought

I'm doubting that it's anything so organized. If Masky had to act so opaquely, chances are that he was running dark. Maybe that's somebody else wearing the Skully mask, other than Tim, but if it is, note that they were lurking Alex's place -- or at least they were on the same tape as other Alex-based activities. Chances are more likely that they were monitoring him and fucking with him the same way that Masky did with Jay, not preparing to go all rambo-clown-face on Slendy.

Hmm. When Amy is pointing the camera out the window, is Slendy in the trees? I think I might be catching a few glimpses, but it might be wishful thinking :X As in, I think I see something, but it turns out to be a shadow/the trees with the cloud appearing through the trees etcetera.

I don't know if anyone has mentioned this, but from 2:28-2:31 looks like a fire to me. As well, from 2:31-2:33, it looks like Alex could possibly be lighting a fire, as he is seen throwing something into a lighter area on screen. Possibly lighting up Jay's apartment?

I was wondering what the grey-distortion was. It does look kinda like he's setting fire to some paper, butt...

Is anyone here familiar with Lovecraftian literature? The MH guys seem pretty literate, and the original Slendy Mythos relies pretty heavily on Lovecraftian elements, so using that as the backbone of my argument, I would like to propose the idea of the Operator Symbol being something like either the Yellow Sign of Hastur or the Elder Sign from other Cthulhu Mythos. On the one hand, it can serve as some form of summoning symbol, drawing this ancient god-like creature out of his extradimensional space, and on the other hand it could function as a sort of repellent. Just a few thoughts, make of it what you will.

It seems to me that if functions more like a warning to others. Like, "Ye be warned, here be Slender Man." We see Alex drawing it all over the place and why would he draw a symbol that summons the thing he's trying to escape?

Sounds like "Amy, Amy! Get out, right now! Jump out of the [window], get out into the streets. I'm gonna be right behind you!"

Also, the clip at 2:36, am I the only one that thinks that might be from Entry 22?

Well, I favor the Elder Sign theory a bit more heavily, but there's always the possibility that he's drawing it while under The Operator's influence. After all, if you were possessing someone and your existence was purely conditional (as The Operator's seems to be - Its existence seems dependent on the thoughts of others, like Freddy Krueger or to an extent the Weeping Angels) wouldn't you take advantage of a victim you're controlling by forcing them to summon you? Hastur's scheme is somewhat more elaborate, but it could be a crude form of the Elder Sign. It has to be something deeper than just a warning, and this whole series has a very Lovecraftian draw to it. I think there's something to be gained in examining the whole thing obliquely. If you look at it from just one perspective, then you keep going over the same few puzzles and details. If you look at other materials and draw comparisons, it can help freshen up some of the mysteries we haven't solved yet. In the interview, the creators did say there were some puzzles that we haven't figured out. I'm just trying to alter my perspective a bit and hope something good comes of it.

I see what you mean about the clip. Just as Seth got attacked?

Yeah.
I just rewatched Entry 22, it looks similar to the clip at 5:02. The only thing is the walls look a little different in 26's clip and I didn't see a flash in 22 either.

Hmm, good call, that DOES look like Entry 22.

Which reminds me of something else I've been wondering about Entry 22.

At the end, when Alex is giving his creepy monologue, he says, "I woke up in this house." Then later on he says, "I thought I'd be safer here, by running away, but everything's just gotten worse. I'm going back to my home, and I'm burning these tapes. All of them."

Where is "here?" Where was Alex running, where did he think he'd be safe?

I think he means his escapade with hiding out in Brian's house. We do see him apparently move from his house into Brian's at some point over the summer that he'd been filming.

It seems very similar to when Jay woke up back in his home after #23. Or when he disappeared in #24 and then returned to his bedroom.

I don't remember if anyone else posted any screencaps from 26 here, but here's a comparison.

My only problem with these two, like I said, was that these two appear to be mirrored, perspective-wise, that is. There's also the walls, in #22 they're white while in #26 it's the old everyday red bricks. On top of that, there's support beams against the wall. It's possible they're either irrelevant, or SM likes his walls built with an assortment of bricks.

Does anyone have an idea on who that might be in the clip?
