It could be that they're different levels in the same building, so that Slender-land isn't just a basement as we had been thinking; or that they're different places and Slendy has more than one crash pad.

At first I thought that the person in the second image was Sarah, but with her hair flipped around the front of her shoulders, but it's more likely that it's Alex. It's hard to tell!

It is, and it's possible there's more floors what with Jay panning up to reveal a flight of stairs back in #23.

I'd like to share my theory now. I'm sorry if something like this has already been posted, but I'm too lazy to go through all 33 pages.:p

1. Alex kept that one tape because it showed the death of Seth. He couldn't just delete something like that, but he wouldn't feel right giving it to J. However, he wanted nothing to do with it either, because he knew it would attract Slender Man. Either he hid it, or he gave it to a friend who knew about the whole thing (probably Tim.) If he gave it to Tim, and Tim didn't already know a lot about SM, then watching that tape could have caused his transformation into Masky/TTA. (I'm not 100% convinced Masky is Tim, but this would be a very good reason for Tim to go insane.)

2. For whatever reason, Masky (not necessarily Tim) found the camera and the tape, found Alex, went to Alex's house, did the sneaky stuff we see from 2:45 to 3:08, and left the camera for Alex's Girlfriend (AG from now on) to find. AG was curious and looked at the (now ruined) tape. This attracted Slender Man, because we can assume that any trace of his murdering someone (if that is what happened to Seth) would be extremely attractive to him. This could have caused his increased aggressiveness that we see, and he might be as pissed off as he was when (if) he killed Seth. This theory basically ends the possibility of Masky being anything but an antagonist. (At best, he's an anti-villain.)

3. As for the other clips, the strange mask is the most intriguing to me. Personally, I think that either it means that A. Masky existed with a different look in the past, B. that Alex is trying to show that he knows about Masky, or C. that Masky tampered with the tape and is hinting to Jay that he did it. A warning, perhaps? The last possibility could mean that Masky was forced to summon SM. As for A and B, A means that Tim is probably not Masky, or that he took up the mantle from someone else (maybe even Brian, Seth or Alex), while B means that Alex could have found Jay using Masky or that he's even deeper in this than we thought.

4. The short clip with someone looking at Slender Man almost certainly shows someone from the old cast. I'd like to think it was Brian or Seth, implying the the two members that are MIA were connected fairly deeply with Slender Man. Not as much as Alex or J, but enough for him to hunt them down. And maybe even enough for him to consider Seth and Alex equal targets.

I'm not sure if anyone else posted this yet (if it was already posted, I'm sorry)

but did anyone ask J to go to the return address that was on the envelope/tape?

There may be something there...?
Smile

I don't think there was one, but my memory could be lacking.

I don't know if anybody specifically did, though I have a feeling that that was probably on his laundry list of things to do, given how blatant it was!

I think it was strongly implied that the return address is exactly where he went right after posting the video..... I believe it went along the lines of "There was a return address. Alex is alive and I'm going to find him."

Hey, guys. Very Happy I'm another one of those long-time lurkers, though I like to think of myself as a long-time admirer. :3 I've always wanted to share my opinions with such a nice and awesome group of people as you guys. ..so.. I finally decided to.

This has probably been brought up in other topics, but I feel like bringing it up here, since it has a lot to do with this entry.

Skully. Let's take a close look at what's going on in those few seconds, namely.. the camera. Anybody else spot how... fish-eyed the actual CAMERA is? You guys have already figured out that it seems like we're seeing Skully through a peephole. I'm just thinking.. could this be in a hotel? ..not "A" hotel, mind you. THE hotel? >_> After all, J's chest-cam has a fish-eye effect, doesn't it? I'm fairly sure it does, as I really hate that effect. xD BUT STILL.

If my assumption of the location of that clip is correct, then this puts a bit more weight behind the theory of that snippet of clips in #26 being a Season Two preview. A subtle foreshadowing of things to come.. a sneak preview that I think we can all appreciate now.

Do I sound sane, or do I really not belong here? D:

Welcome to the insane discussion! You totally fit in, don't worry a bit.

It'd be neat if the fisheyed image of Skully had been a bit of foreshadowing to season II. I have a feeling it wasn't, unless in the oblique sense of "all this has happened before, and all of it will happen again" -- like, maybe that footage was from Alex's days on the run, either with a chestcam of his own or through a peephole. Having it literally have come from some event while Jay's staying in "the" hotel in season II is a little too blatant time-travelly for the series.

It DOES kind of imply a connection, however, if only through the fish-eye effect. I think it would be cool as hell if it was implying that what Jay is doing now is a repeat of what Alex did then. Very Happy

Well.. how about this? J doesn't know where he got the chest-cam, and didn't he say he was going from hotel to hotel before #26? Perhaps the clip was shot in one of those hotels, and perhaps the fish-eye camera is the very same that is strapped to J now.

..it wouldn't make any difference if either of those were true, though I suppose it would mean Skully has been following/did follow J at one point, and "cares" enough to provide him with the chest-cam.

I think it's also relevant to note that the fish-eye lens may simply provide a bit of a wider view. While I'm not saying it be written off as being purely a "practical" thing, I think we should be careful not to read too much into it at the same time.

EDIT: I see my main points have already been stated, but I've left the post here because I figure any discussion is potentially helpful.

Hi all. This is my first post here too.

I only stumbled across MH a few days ago and have watched all the videos and read up pretty intensively. So, apologies if I'm a bit uniformed and anything I say has already been stated.

Anyway, I can't help thinking that the camera is more significant than we've realised so far. I'd started to suspect this watching the earlier entries, and this one really cemented the idea for me. Here's my line of thought...

>For starters, these events all revolve around the filming of a movie.

>The cameras seem to pick up more than the people notice. Not just the audio/visual distortion, but also instances of SM being clearly filmed while the people filming seem oblivious.

>Both Alex and Jay became compelled to film almost constantly. So far this has been pretty much put down to paranoia, but maybe there's a more deliberate influence involved.

>And with this entry, SM appears just as Alex's girlfriend (presumably) finds the camera, as though the act of filming drew him, or offered some sort of beacon to show him where they were.

Also, look at how casual and relaxed everything apparently was at the start of filming. Alex doesn't look like he's particularly on edge to begin with, and his girlfriend states that she didn't think they owned a camera. Whether this camera was hidden by Alex deliberately, or simply forgotten, it seems to suggest that he's been avoiding cameras... and seems a lot more relaxed as a result.

I may be way off here. I know the main vector for MH is Youtube, so video is obviously a big part anyway, but I just thought I'd share my thinking and see what you folks made of it

On a side note, did everyone notice how calm Alex seemed when SM appeared? He didn't seem overly surprised and he took charge of the situation quite efficiently.

Again, sorry if any of this has been stated before, but I've spent the last couple of days looking at this stuff quite closely already and just wanted to share my early opinions.

And I definitely remember them them talking about using more fish eye in an interview or something. I'm thinking they just have a thing for fish eye.

That being said, I always thought that Skully was peeking out of that tube-thing in the quantum basement.

Hello, another lurker here, so if I am also being redundant, I apologize. Smile

I do think 8bitfilk is right about how important the cameras are. Slenderman is more often seen through a lens by someone, than directly looked at.

It has also been said those who are not being stalked by him cannot see him.

Maybe the only way for people not being stalked by him to see him is through a lens, and this could also be how he picks his next targets.

If you happen to be filming or taking a picture while he is around and you get a shot of him, Slenderman will stalk you. That could give us a reason why Slenderman started stalking Alex and the crew in the first place, because they caught him on film while making the movie.

EDIT: In a crowning moment of Noobishness, I got so wrapped up in what I was saying I forgot to post something about entry 26. Embarassed
I was wondering if it was even possible to reverse the fish-eye effect of the video? We could probably get a clearer picture that way.
