Right before I go to bed, I usually watch the new Entries (why I'll never know...it's good nightmare material O_O)

Anyways, so my alarm clock woke me up one day, but instead of it playing
the radio station...it made a REALLY LOUD static sound (like what plays in the entries).

Needless to say I was horribly scared xD

I couldn't fall back asleep after I turned off my alarm clock because I thought slenderman was in my room...and was going to get me.

So I got up, super early for school, and I was about to go to the bathroom when my alarm clock started making that sound again.

I went to turn off my alarm clock (again) then I finished getting ready for school (eat breakfast/changing clothes etc) when my alarm clock went off AGAIN...except this time it was playing the radio station I had set it to the night before...not the static.

(No this is real, and it wasn't a dream)

Creepy, celestial... I feel the same, ever since MH i can't think of static the same way.

Some things, though, only become creepy once you put them into context AFTER watching MH.

True story: The dorm apartment building i live in is only about six years old, so it's supposed to be in tip-top shape. But we still have all sorts of things break down and malfunction because it's college and without crappy apartments the experience wouldn't be the same.

Anyways my roommates and I were up late one weekend and heard knocking- it was sometime close to midnight- but we brushed it off as our neighbors who are usually drunk and/or high.

But the knocking kept on going- there would be a series of rhythmic knocks, a brief pause (a minute or so) and then another set of knocks. We kept waiting for it to stop but eventually gave up and went to bed. From what i can tell it kept going all night, since when I woke up the next morning it was still happening.

We started to tune it out, but it kept going all the next day and the day after. Eventually we got fed up and started asking the other people in the building if they were hearing it- the people across from us were hearing it from their kitchen, the people above us thought it was coming from above THEM, the people below us had been hearing it and thought it was from us, etc.

My roommates and I, all being MH fans, kept referring to it as Slendy knocking in our walls and jokingly nagging him to stop. Sooner or later someone put in a work order and the repair guy came in, trying to figure out the origin of the sound. He told us he had no idea what was making the sound (which was actually frightening, even HE didn't know where it was coming from) but wrote it off as pipes. He posted a note on everyone's doors that he would order the part, and to put up with the noise for one more night until the part came in. D: we didn't have to put up with it for one more night. AS SOON as the note was posted the noise stopped.

It was eerie, but it wasn't THAT scary, just something we jokingly blamed on Slenderman. Until, of course, 27 and 28 came out and lo and behold, mysterious noises in the night and that "heartbeat" at the beginning of 27. I was terrified by the fact that we had Operator-occurences happening and didn't even KNOW it until the entries put it in context >.>

And not to doublepost, but if it weren't for MH I would never have been creeped out when THIS happened:

I know, information disclosure scares me too.

Although I don't know how it relates to the slenderman.

My only real life effect was, while riding home with a friend one night a few days after first watching the series, I looked at one of the nearby houses. The one I looked at two doors for the front door, the outside being glass while the inside was a normal, wooden door. So, the wooden door was open, but the glass door was closed. At the door, with his back to the road, was a middle aged, bald man. Unfortunately, as he had his back to us, I only saw the back of his head, and I swear, I thought it was Slendy for a moment, until the guy turned and walked away.

I lost my wallet a couple of weeks ago, I dropped it and then when I searched; it had gone. First thing I thought was "Slenderman has it".

Walked into a dark room and caught sight of myself in a mirror, freaked the fuck out and thought it was Slendy.

That's when you know you're way too skinny... and watch too much MH.

I regularly fall asleep with the television on. It's a bad habit, I know, but it's one of the few things that distracts my mind enough to let me fall asleep at night.

A few weeks ago, I woke up in the early hours of the morning and saw my TV tuned in to Stephen Colbert. In my half-awake state, I started watching, until I noticed Stephen began freezing, then skipping ahead several seconds later with a considerable amount of visual and audio distortion. I waited for a few moments to see if it would stop, but it continued on for several minutes. (Keep in mind, at this point, that I'd just started watching MH for the first time.) I eventually had to turn off the TV and sit in the dark and silence for a while. When I turned the TV on about five-to-ten minutes later, it had stopped.

Now, reasonable explanation: I have Comcast. (If that isn't enough of an explanation, they just required all customers to switch their cable-using TVs to a digital converter box. Their digital signal is kind of rubbish, and this happens on every TV in our house, I've since discovered.) Still freaked me the hell out, though.

- - -

On a somewhat-related note, does anybody else get freaked out by the Emergency Broadcast System? It seems like it only comes on at the most inopportune times for me. Driving alone on an empty road in the middle of the night is always a fun one, and my favourite was also related to leaving my TV on at night.

It was about 2:45-3:00am, and I was roused out of sleep by a loud (and I mean LOUD) buzzer. I flipped up and looked at the TV, which had no image on it, and was playing the familiar sound, but at a MUCH louder volume than usual. That was followed by the usual eerie police radio chatter, then another buzzer, but after all was said and done, the image never came back. What DID come back was distorted audio of a TV show about tigers in the wild. I tried changing the channel, and the same audio was on every one. I eventually found a channel with its own (very distorted) video, but playing the strange nature show audio over it.

Lucky me, I hadn't heard of Slenderman yet, but damn if I had... I don't think I'd ever have fallen back to sleep.

So yesterday I watched ALL of Marble Hornets when I was home alone. I was freaked out at every bump and bang that happened across my house. Worse of all, I live in the basement, which has its fair share of dark nooks and empty desolate rooms. (The boiler room reminded me of my water heater room -shudder-) I was so into the series that when my uncle rang the doorbell I jumped and fell out of my chair xD

I calmed down a bit after that and was alright. Although, when I went upstairs to the main floor I had to take the stairs which were conveniently located by the two darkest rooms in my house. I freaking ran up the stairs haha. And then last night I was trying to sleep. I was like, there is no way Slendy can get me. But I still was like. If my door opens in the middle of the night, I am freaking the hell out
:c

Not so much a paranoia-thing as a funny thing, but today on facebook was Pretend To Be A Time Traveler day on Facebook (http://www.facebook.com/home.php?#!/event.php?eid=97666262433)
and rather than following any of the guidelines I wore my Masky mask.

Admittedly it's more based on pet theories than fact but HEY he's TECHNICALLY a time traveler (or at least he warps through closets...)

I felt proud of myself >w>

The last few weeks I've had enough time to watch the entirety of season one over again, and I've done so more than a few times.

Unfortunately, the power keeps cutting out, due to my parents rewiring a bunch of stuff while they remodel the kitchen. Now, I'm on a laptop, so it's no big deal, but there have been a few times where the power's cut out while I'm watching, and it happens at the EXACT same moment as some video distortion, and when I look upstairs, nobody's home.

It's happened too many times for me to blow it off as a crazy random happenstance.
