^All of this

I am now having nightmares about the slender man too. This is a big deal however, because I never remember my dreams unless they hold some meaning or prediction. So the fact that he keeps appearing in my nightmares, is making me afraid to go down to the woods to film something today.

Good lord, I could write a book about how MH has affected my life.

First and foremost - my electric bill. Seriously. MH has rekindled a fear of the dark that I haven't had since elementary school. I try about once a week to go to sleep with all the lights off, and I can't - I usually toss and turn nervously for fifteen or twenty minutes before turning on a lamp, or the bathroom light. (This renewed fear of the dark is not useful during things like BLACKOUTS. My power went out for a few hours one night about a month ago, and I legitimately had a panic attack.)

Secondly - my sleep habits in general. It does not help that the setup of my bedroom is similar to Jay's, so I keep expecting to open my eyes in the middle of the night and discover Masky crouching on my dresser.

Third - Fear of cameras. I was videotaping myself a few nights ago to rehearse a song, and was irrationally afraid to watch the video, for fear of what I might see lurking in the background.

Fourth - I'm becoming a bad influence. I've gotten most of my friends hooked, as well as about 25% of the cast of the play I'm directing right now. We had a power surge in the theatre a few nights ago, and when the lights flickered, there were screams of "SLENDERMAN!!!!" from all directions.

Basically, I'm a paranoid nerd.

What are you talking about? These are all either hilarious or awesome, or both!

Well, for starters, I've signed up here and started posting and trying to figure out some stuff.

I've been getting creeped out when home alone at night. You'd think at nearly 26 it'd be easy to dismiss things like that as being an overactive imagination, but I still get unsettled. I should really just avoid anything MH-related at night, but I just can't seem to stop myself. It's just too interesting.

It has managed to slip into my dreams once or twice, but surprisingly enough, it wasn't a nightmare. I can't really remember what was in the dream, but since it wasn't a nightmare, I'm pretty sure Slenderman and Masky weren't there.

Hmm? What's this? Another theatre nerd! Very Happy
We never get enough love, do we?

BTW: The Slender-usical is coming along nicely, just thought you all should know!

Adding in a few new ones:

1: I'm not afraid of the dark (Hell, I'm backstage most of the time, and I can barely see.)
But at the theatre, there's a mannequin used to measure clothing sizes. It's very tall and very thin, and I have to get to a light switch, in the dark, right next to the dummy.... You can guess what happens whenever I go down.

2: My whole cast and crew now knows about the Slenderman/ Marblehornets mythos.

3. I dressed as Slenderman for halloween.

4. Whenever the theater goes dark (AKA, the lights turn off) We hear "Aaaah, Slenderman" because at least one actor/ASM/etc. grabs somebody else.

Razz I love actors, they make me laugh, and they're WEIRD

Well, I have gone through 2 stages. 1st stage I like to call "pre-game" and the second "post-game"

Pre-game: Since I am new to ARG's and stuff, I actually thought that Marble Hornets was real stuff, I mean, a true story. I was extremely paranoid and scared of the dark. I always slept with my back against the wall and held my door closed.

Post-game: After I learned that Marble Hornets was a game, I felt relieved and now I feel a little uneasy during the nighttime.

Around our town, bloody teenagers have scrawled 'BNP' across half the town, thats not the interesting bit though. They're nearly always paired with operator symbols. O_O;

Did anyone else notice that after watching Marble Hornets, the Operator Symbol is way more noticable? Seriously, before I watched it I never noticed any, but now I see them often.

Same here! I was playing the original Red Faction on PS2 the other day and there are operator symbols everywhere at the beginning (they mark areas on the walls that can be blasted through with explosives).

Same here! >.< It's like you don't notice couples until you're single [or that could just be me.]

QFT. It's like finding easter eggs in real life, even if they have a different meaning from the one that we're used to!

I never thought that MH was real (given that I found Slendy through Know Your Meme and that took the uncertainty away) however, I found the semi-interactivity was really alluring. When I sent a message to TTA and he actually responded, I'm not gonna lie: I was all "8D! OMG OMG OMG he actually said something to meeeee! Oooh so creepy and confusing!" The videos themselves left me unnerved, but I think that it was this aspect of playing with the characters on occasion that made MH pretty spiffy for me. It's something that bigger entertainment hasn't really utilized, as far as I know!

(And now that we're getting a hiatus or whatever, lurking on Masky and Slendy's facebook pages is all we can get, crack-entertainment or no. I weep!)

Part of me wants to go scrawl operator symbols in public places now.

Maybe I'll put one on the whiteboard in my classroom, just for the hell of it...then again, for all I know, a gang has appropriated the symbol, too, which would be a problem where I teach.

Firstly, this is my first ARG AND my first time ever visiting the Unfiction forums, so it's a really big deal to me Smile I didn't realize Marble Hornets was a game at first, either....MH has spread around my school like wildfire; we have a teacher that we're attempting to get hooked on it, and the 4 girls that I room with in my dorm and I are all in that sort of elation/terror that accompanies obsession with MH...
Personally I haven't had any fears about Masky, as in the end he's human and therefore can (HOPEFULLY) be killed, but SM terrifies me senseless and I can't stand to look out the window at night. My girlfriend and I usually love sleeping in my bed, which is by a huge window, because it's roomier and more comfortable than her bed. Since watching MH, however, we deal with her small cramped bed.
I live in a suite that's divided into two bedrooms linked by a bathroom. Five of us live in the two bedrooms, but we've all taken to sleeping in the same room for various and sundry reasons. So at night, one of the bedrooms is usually empty unless I choose to sleep in there. Well, the other night, I was all cuddled up in my girl Krystyne's bed when we hear a door open in the empty room. Both of us freak out and immediately think SLenderman. So I stay hidden in bed while she gets up and checks out the noise... just goes to show you who's really the man in the relationship. Thankfully it was just our mutual friend Amelia trying to find us (At midnight!) to ask to borrow some clothes.
I also made a Slendy doll, and my sketchbook islittered with MH-related drawings Smile

Every time there's distortion or static on the television (our cable box causes little bits of distortion if we're watching a channel that also comes on on HD, unsure why), every time my phone cuts out, and every last time my radio blasts static at me, I go "omigod, it's the Slenderman!" It confuses my family so much!

I hooked my boyfriend on the series, so when we hear noises at his house, we talk about how the Slenderman is coming for us, and then he scares the hell out of me by screaming at the window like something's out there. And then we laugh, but when I go out to my car, I gotta check all over the place, since his house has lots of trees around it. And then when I get home, I sprint to the house, because I convince myself that the Slenderman really IS out there somehow.... every single night.

I also yell "THE SLENDERMAN HAS ME!" when Smokers constrict my character on Left 4 Dead 2 ^_^ Then again, I also call the witches Lloronas, so I'm weird on that game, anyway.

The morning 26 came out, I watched it before I headed down to the school I'm student teaching at, so I was a little wired. I had gone into this little office area between our classroom and our neighbor's classroom to put my lunch in the mini fridge, and my mentoring teaching had come up behind me. She was wearing a pretty black and white blouse, so when I caught the block of white next to the block of black on her blouse out of the corner of my eye, I nearly jumped out of my skin. >< Also, at that school, they have this awesome painting of Abraham Lincoln on the wall in the hallway. It's like 8 feet tall and incredibly slender, so when I'm walking and just see the bottom half, I always smile. Slenderlincoln.
