Been spending the weekend fighting what's either the worst headcold I've ever had or some kind of walking pneumonia (my whole family is sick with the same thing, whatever it is).

Last night, I took some medicine before bed, and between the sickness and the medication, it must have put me in a really spaced-out mood. For most of the evening (I'm not sure how much sleep I actually got...) I was fully convinced that I was multiple people fighting to keep my body awake, because if I fell asleep and couldn't breathe (lots of congestion) then the Slenderman was going to get me. I'm guessing I was convinced it was Slenderman because I've had splitting headaches and an insufferable cough the past few days. Having two homemade Masky masks sitting near my bedside probably didn't help (although I'm glad I wasn't so far gone as to put one on to 'fend off' the Slenderman. -__-''

It was under this same daze that I drew the SlenderBob meme I threw up on that thread, so I apologize if it makes no sense - it made complete and total sense to me last night, but looking at it now I'm not entirely sure why I felt the need to Photoshop that up. O_o''

No more late-night cold medicine trips for me... Razz

Did the medicine have diphenhydramine (DPH) in it by chance? I've been reading about that stuff.

In high doses, DPH is actually a deleriant; it causes detailed and vivid hallucinations and impressions that are hard to distinguish from reality. Tends to be rather terrifying too; most people who have done it say they saw lots of spiders, and had conversations with people who weren't actually there. A few people have even seen Slender Man, and that right there is enough to scare me away from this stuff.

People actually do this for fun, and it is legal, but don't try it unless you're ready to experience true insanity for one night.
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
Maybe this is what TimMasky was taking. Did we ever indentify the pills in that label-less bottle?

Ok, so this isn't my story. It's from a friend. ( The same friend that helps me with theories and I'm trying to get to join up on here. ) But it's horrifying as all hell. She has a history of almost regular sleep paralysis and finds it to be enjoyable or fun for the most part.

Except this time.

I'll post the conversation but edit out our screen names for privacy's sake.

Her: Well...y'know how I've said that sleep paralysis has never been scary for me?
Her: Well. After the nightmare, I knew I was half-awake because I could feel my bed and it's how I always feel in sleep paralysis. I could hear my parents running downstairs and screaming to me that we needed to get out of there.
Her: At the top left corner of my vision (It was like my eyes were a computer or something XD) There was a list of words scrolling down, in the green computer font seen in movies.
Her: It was an alphabetical list of words that described fear or negative emotions. I can't remember them all but I remember stuff like angst, envy, emergency, panic, etc.
Her: But the list stopped scrolling down towards the end of the O words.

Me: To The Ark invaded your dreams.
Me: OPERATOR.

Her: Yep.
Her: I shit you not.
Me: It said Operator??!
Her: Yes.
Me: Holy shit
Me: I would have pissed my pants.
Her: And the list wouldn't scroll down anymore.
Her: I just about did.
Her: When I finally did wake up, I was too fucking scared to move. My face was frozen in a "D8" face for 10-15 minutes.

She also described the half-dream in vivid detail.

Her: Well then. I "woke up" (was still half asleep, remember) and I was trying really hard to move. I felt like I was shaking my head back and forth but I couldn't get anywhere. And like I said, I heard my parents running down the stairs sounding really scared and yelling to me that we all need to leave.
Her: But they never even came close to my door. I just heard them running around downstairs.
Her: I heard some kind of hissing noise, like a valve leaking. And that list was making a faint *blip* noise with each word it scrolled down.

Me: How fast was it scrolling?
Her: It started off slow, then got to a pretty medium-fast pace.
Her: Then stopped dead at 'operator', and kept doing a little jump thing like it was trying to scroll down to the next word, but couldn't.

Her:Then as I was finally able to start moving, all of it just kinda faded away. The list and the sound of my parents. My ears were kinda ringing a little, though.

(end synopsis)

That actually creeped me the hell out. It seems like something ToTheArk would do in one of his vids. Sleep paralysis creeps me out, especially since I'm prone to vivid nightmares, some involving our slender friend.

The day after Sidetone came out, I was checking my phone and saw I had a missed call. From the number 000-0000. I freaked out a bit, and no one I know has mentioned trying to get through an operator to get my number.

I am so glad that some one started this topic cause I have been wanting to tell this for sometime now.

I think this happened in January on one of the nights my husband had to work so I was home alone. What made this even worse was the fact we had just watched all of EMH, MH and TT.

I was doing dishes and where I was standing my front door was right in eye shot (its a sliding door so I can see everything going on outside) and I looked up from a dish and I saw a black figure by my door for just a split second. I flipped out and grabbed a knife and went to the front door, but no one was there. So I looked outside to see if anyone was out there. but nothing.

So I closed the door and started heading back to the kitchen, but for some reason I felt like I had to look out the door one last time and when I turned and looked out the sliding door I saw this guy walking down the street. I only saw his side and back, but he was super tall ....I mean holy crap tall, he was balled and very pale. Not only was he all these things but he had on this black jacket and pants. They looked like a suit but i couldn't be sure.

I almost crapped my self. so I ran to the kitchen and i looked out my window that shows the other side of the road where he would have had to walk to get anywhere and I never saw him.

I still had the knife and I went out side to see if I was crazy and the guy was gone. There was no house for him to go in, no woods, and the road goes strait for such a long time I would have caught him walking still.

I know that slenderman isn't real, but this just... i don't know it was creepy.

I asked my husband and his mom if they knew anyone in town that looked like that (its a very small town. blink and you will miss it) and they told me no, at least no one on our street.

I am just so happy i get to tell someone besides my husband. ^_^
sorry for the length

My subconscious has always had an interesting way of dealing with fear, it turns me into a badass in my dreams. Well yesterday I downloaded all of the Marble Hornets videos from Youtube and re-watched them all. When I got up to go shower before going off to bed I was freaking scared since my room light was the only one on in the house.

After my shower I went to bed, it was around 1 AM by then. I remember that I had at least two separate dreams about Slendy. One of which all I remember was that I was him, in the other, however, I remembered I kicked his ass Twisted Evil

It wasn't AN operator.

It was THE Operator.

Wasn't sure whether this would be more applicable to the main OT thread or this, but anyways...

It's true. It does make you hallucinate. I once took around 36 25 mg tablets of sleep aid that had diphenhydramine in it. I was on a hospital bed and I thought I was at home, sitting on my bed doing homework. I thought I was playing my xbox at one point, and when I kinda snapped out of it, I was looking for my controller. Yeah lol

ON TOPIC- It's made me sleep with my back to the wall. Every night for a while. Doesn't help that a lot of the trees near my house (I live in a rural area) are thin. Not many oak trees. I also once had a nightmare about seeing slender man under this crab-apple tree I have near a pond on my property. He started teleporting towards me and I ran like hell, scared the shit outta me and I was paranoid to be out near that part of my property for a while. ;_;

I've had one nightmare. A guy was looking through some files when a woman runs up to him screaming. Apparently, knowing what was there summons Slender Man. The two begin fighting until Slendy shows up. He torments them for a while and at some point another person joins them. The dream end when the three commit suicide, one by slitting their throat and another by dissembowelment; I don't remember what the last one did.

An earlier, unrelated dream featured a ton of little Rakelings. And me being late for class. Not quite as scary.

Nothing to do with MH but I watched a lot of Toby Turner's Dead Space Let's Play series last night.

Then I had a dream that a baby was forcing a screwdriver between my ribs.

Nuff said.

I've had some Slendy hallucinations myself lol. I live right in the middle of the woods so I get pretty damn scared every time I'm home and trying to sleep. It also doesn't help that I get home late at night and where I have to park I'm not exactly near the front door so I end up sprinting up to my house so Slendy can't get me Laughing

There is also a pair of big full windowed french doors in my livingroom too that you can see right from the kitchen. Not exactly fun waking up at night and needing to go downstairs, I've had a couple of jumps thinking that Slenderman was having a midnight stroll around my house lol.

And then there's a mirror in my room that I ended up turning around cause every time I'd get close to sleeping I'd start seeing stuff in it. Not fun.

I'm currently staying at my parents' house. With today's Twitter activity, I've been keeping a vigil all evening, just waiting.

Like five minutes ago, I stepped out of the bathroom, and the lights in the hall started flickering. Everything in the house dimmed, but didn't go out completely. The outside lights cast long, convulsing shadows across the lawn, and the trees were suddenly menacing.

"I don't want to die," I squeaked.

We just searched around the house. Oddly, the lights are fine in my room and in the kitchen, but they're out everywhere else.

There's only one possible explanation in my fevered imagination .

Edit: One neighbour so far is having the same problem. Hopefully, Slendy goes after them first.

It's not as bad as it was when I first got into the series but man I was a paranoid wreck for a good few weeks. Like I would swore I saw him outside my window and the fact that I would have to walk home at night, alone and at 2am most nights did not help with the dread.

Marble Hornets just puts me on sensory overload when it's at it's creepiest. Like things that wouldn't startle me usually would just make me cringe.

It's impressive that a YouTube series has managed to terrify me more than most Hollywood horror recently (I'm looking at you Paranormal Craptivity).

Dun...DUN DUN DUUUN.

There's also a message, but I can't remember my phone password./Seriously

Also, I had an encounter I think. I was just about to go to sleep when I looked at the wall across from my bed. There's a big mirror an that wall, and I could have sworn I saw him in it, by my bed. I jumped up and turned on my light....but nothing.
