Am in agreement on the urgency and equally clueless Dunno on the "around in circles' doc" Drop location.

That shd be an interesting reply from V, Dagada. About the May 1st trifecta Celebration, a tidbit I saw on the MOA chat:

Aethalides/Libatrix in chat wrote:
a perfect semi circle is formed by the exhibiion

Right - enough chatter - back to paperwork [look for exhibitions... i'm not paid enough to keep quiet!]

Aethalides is referring to the 1 May to 15 October 1851 "The Great Exhibition" and specifically to the Crystal Palace. The Astronomer Royal was a very influential counselor in 1851. Source

Quote:
The grandiose display of Victorian technological prowess at the Great International Exhibition of 1851 included a Dent turret clock....Dent's longstanding service to the Royal Observatory, Greenwich and the admiration it inspired in the Royal Astronomer, Sir George Airy, is well documented...for the prestigious (Big Ben clock) construction Sir George Airy awarded the contract to Dent in 1852

You're right, Dawn. Even if there was no puzzle to solve to find the pick up, and the party was on, say, Wednesday, it would be fairly difficult to find someone. But seeing as we only have me or Dagada who could feasibly get to London in the next couple of days, and we don't even have the location of the pick up. Well, it sucks nads.

Hopefully it won't be game breaking if we don't get it before tomorrow.

I might give partial information, see what they say.

Got a possible way to solve the doc.

After getting an email (I'll get to it in a sec) explaining that a new email was made, and emails were sent out giving a hint to solving the doc, I checked my spam folder and found something.

Here's the new email containing what we need to solve the doc

Quote:
I'm sorry for that earlier email - I'm hyper paranoid - the Ministry have become REALLY calm after the break in and me stealing the files. I even set up another email and emailed you though not too sure if you got it.
sorry, so much going on - I encrypted a rhyme telling people where the drop is because, well, I don't know - there's so much in my head and I'm relly scared.
I can't use any key words but as you are helping me out loads:

Robin starts the 26
while Bluetit give you the 'eye'.
Victory says the sparrow
whilst bats aren't birds but fly
'You' will like the mute swan
The crow will 'be' there too
The coot wil give you 'ell' though
Now go - you've read - please do...

Here's the one that ended up in my spam box.

Quote:
"AGATHOS. Ah, not in knowledge is happiness, but in the acquisition of
knowledge"

The bells will ring soon, first silver, then gold and all will be good.
then the brazen alarums wil ring and finally the iron...

Please, find the MoLies...soon... time is fast approaching...

The AGATHOS bit is from this interchange by Poe:
http://xroads.virginia.edu/~hyper/POE/powords.html
Its hugely complex but it appears to be two otherworldly beings talking about the epistemology - and whether it is possibly to be all knowing. Agathos arguing that it is not.

http://quotations.about.com/cs/poemlyrics/a/The_Bells.htm

Thats where this:

Quote:
The bells will ring soon, first silver, then gold and all will be good.
then the brazen alarums wil ring and finally the iron...
is from.

Furthermore, (and this is a little less likely - perhaps) I seared for Molies and came across:

Quote:
moly [ˈməʊlɪ]
n pl -lies
1. (Myth & Legend / Classical Myth & Legend) Greek myth a magic herb given by Hermes to Odysseus to nullify the spells of Circe
2. (Life Sciences & Allied Applications / Plants) a liliaceous plant, Allium moly, that is native to S Europe and has yellow flowers in a dense cluster

As for the first email, obviously there are the letters encoded in: IEUBL
Possibly more if you count fly as an I? But I can't get the references to the birds/bats. But, if we take the capitals we get
Quote:
Robin starts the 26
while Bluetit give you the 'eye'.
Victory says the sparrow
whilst bats aren't birds but fly
'You' will like the mute swan
The crow will 'be' there too
The coot wil give you 'ell' though
Now go - you've read - please do...

If we can work this out, I'm able to pop into London tomorrow for a search and collect. Fingers crossed!

Ok, I received a tip from Poeus which says:

"Victory says the sparrow"

thats why I bolded the capitals. I haven't got access to the rapidshare file so if its an image and someone could post it up here then I could help. Otherwise, take the information and see what you can do.

Hmm. Canada geese fly in a "V" formation, too. Also, I was wondering if the "in circles" bit had something to do with how to pick out letters or whatever...like there was a reference to a pendulum last game that was supposed to hint us to start in the middle of a jumble of letters we were given and take one letter from each side, working outwards.

I'm at work right now (but today is an easy day for me and I have some free time this period)...but I'll spend some time looking at it tonight.

I thought it was to do with the around in circles document, like sparrow was V and coot was L etc. Not sure though, and am mad busy at work and have only got so far so I can't be sure. Will keep trying though, i'm trying to rope in some of the others here.

So I'm all joined up as Echion with much thanks to Erginus, our dear amandel (and updated the wiki accordingly). Now, I'm trying to assimilate all the information so far, to try and be of some actual use to you all! I'll...be back on that note. Razz

Guys, I haven't seen the image about which we are talking. But remember how the solution to the Masquerade puzzle was found. Following each animal in the pictures eyeline down its longest digit lead to a series of letters which were around the edge of the image.

Is this any use? I really need to get home and see this image!

The doc wasn't an image, it was three charts with bird names.
One sec and I'll get it online. watch for an edit to this post.

New email

Quote:
It looks like it will rain here soon and after he heavy rain last night...
so you know: A I V U B L [end] and 'go'

Wren whistles while he walks
Finch marks the spot
and the pied wagtail will 'see' that
you can now work out the lot.

Robin. A
Bluetit. I
Sparrow. V
Mute Swan. U
Crow. B
Coot. L
Bat ###
Wren. W (probably)
Finch. X
Pied Wagtail. C

Well, I've gotten it, but I feel like I keep swooping in and stealing your solves. Confused Of course, I couldn't have done it without this:

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
If you go to London to W NW, here sixty pounds gets you brown, three butterflies greet ladys noun... Keep left!!! Turn around.

Around in circles do we fly, all but one birds of the sky, guard is crow with his eye, yet pica twice points low no high.

Betwixt the stars where five can eat, three are found to sail or seat, dont be cross or incomplete, under circles by your feet.

Of course, I can't be absolutely certain that the word divisions are proper.

Now we need to figure that riddle out. I don't think anyone unfamiliar with London has a chance.

I think the bit about the crow and it's eye refers to that Masquerade thing.
Follow the eye down the longest limb or w.e
