 		I'm stymied in work on that password since the possible ones have been pulled off the Wiki. I cannot access Ning. The image itself doesn't appear to have any hidden layers.

Claire's tried: 111, crystal, cobourg, shakespeare, gasses, laguioli, tiphys, safety, ultra, maritime, numbers, solomon, tabernacle, covenant, Rotating snakes, Akiyoshi Kitaoka, Akiyoshi

Other things tried by unfiction members:
  • ouroboros, Ouroboros, OUROBOROS
  • 7, 11, 1, 5, 11, 8, 4, 1 translated into both our alphabet and the letters represented by the runes (these were the numbers Claire thought the snake tongues indicated, if each of those snakes is a clock)
  • Nehushtan, nehushtan, Nehustan, nehustan (staff with snake on it that Moses held up in Numbers)
  • Caduceus, caduceus (a different staff with snakes on it; the word is "an adaptation of the Greek kerukeion, meaning 'herald's wand (or staff)'")
  • Asclepius, asclepius, asklepian, (the Rod of Asclepius is another staff with a snake on it; "The Rod of Asclepius also represents the constellation Ophiuchus (or Ophiuchus Serpentarius), considered by some to be the thirteenth sign of the sidereal zodiac.")
  • FUTHARK (with caps variations)

Thought maybe we're thinking too much about what it could it could mean and not concentrating on what it is! The other indigo one has clues but this one is just the picture! Tried a few variants of the name of the work and artist but no avail. Will try again tomorrow.

 		40 hours have passed since The Claw and myself noticed Aethalides last words on the MOA chat and tried to contact her.

 		That sounds ominous. Perhaps pseudo-V is getting a little bit scary up in MoA headquarters.

I'm currently looking into how snakes can be linked to the story of the Argonauts - perhaps this is the connection we need to make to solve the password puzzle. I'll edit this post if I find anything.

I don't have access to the file atm, can someone try Colchian Dragon and The Drakon Kholkikos (+variations, ie Kholkikos, Colchian and capitals etc)?

That page also includes the image that V put up on the ning of Jason being consumed by the dragon. So it appears Kholkikos is the dragon which ate and then threw up Jason.

 		Am something of a typo princess so am always reluctant to mention my PW tries yet had no joy with those above.

Didn't work. I've now tried every surname in Vanessa's family tree. If using surnames at passwords was "in JPW"'s day, it wouldn't be a newer member, like Poeas or Vanessa, would it?

 		Yeah, the surname thing was a BIG HUGE NEON GLOWING HINT, but I've tried all the names I know. Do we have any clues to anyone else's surnames?

 		I've emailed Claire, and, asked her to contact H and get a list of ministry surnames, did it in base64 (which thinking about it, could have been a mistake*) and said I had gotten it as an error when ordering on her site.

*reason it may have been a mistake to choose base64 is because the ministry seems to use it to do everything, according to VS last game.

I've tried these since the surname hint :
Hoskyns, Rennet, Atalanta, a blank password, Nestor, Armbruster*, Münzenberg*, and the entire list of previous tried things with out capital letters.

*Both worked together and discovered element 111

As for it not being Poeas, isn't Poeas H, who is VS' granddaughter? Unless she's got a different surname, VS' info would have worked.
Then again, we don't know his actual name.

Was in a busy service station for breakfast but had to leave. too many people with suits on. Probably just popping in for a coffee before work, but am understandably paranoid.

Edit: also, what now confuses me most about the password is what lead to follow, or whether they are all important. We have the picture (rotating snakes illusion), we have a message telling us the Numbers are important, and we have this hint that it's a last name. Are all of these ideas about the password? Maybe the Numbers thing is related to something else instead?

I only got around to trying a couple more passwords last night (cipher and mindcipher, various caps possibilities, since I found the image on a site called Mindcipher and ciphers were played with last game)...sorry Sad. Got bogged down with a couple job applications and, well, it was LOST and V day on TV Smile. I'll try some more today.
