Not British myself, but it seems to be a British term for 07:30 (http://to./3zuk). In Norwegian, it's a correct term as well, but then for 6:30. German also uses it for 6:30.

Military time could refer to Zulu (UTC), the 24h system, the simplified degree system ("got them at four o' clock"), or I don't know. Anyone have any idea about "The place he sees, The sun and mask"? Also, "Almost half seven, In army time, Years or minutes, Solve this rhyme"?

On a side note, I sent A my info, saying I was sorry for being a little late.

Thanks! I assume military time means the 24-hour clock, so that 7:30 (p.m.) would be "Nineteen-thirty." Then the "Years or minutes" I assume means that we're to interpret that as a year -- 1930. So sometime near 1930?

I think "The place he sees / The sun and mask" means the location from which the eclipse was viewed. My research indicates that Dyson's assistant Eddington, who is credited with confirming Einstein's theory of general relativity thanks to the photos he took of the 1919 eclipse, was in Principe. A second group was sent to South America, but the most famous part of the expedition was Eddington's.

THX jessie. That also confirms precisely what we have been posting on the last few pages. That said, we are looking for a specific location with a "green copper dome".Original post HERE

ETA: Reckon those broken FB links are just Claire's way of warning us to be cautious in how we proceed re Tiphys

Edit: Two tweets from V. One was a DM. Also, she has a new blog enrty but forgotten her "everything is numbers now"

From her blog entry: 'naughty elephants squirt water (NESW) and Richard of York gave battle in vain(Roy G. Biv=sequence of hues in the visible spectrum) are two Mnemonics. And her third mnemonic is:
Quote:
A much simpler mnemonic is "How I wish I could Calculate Pi", the letters in each word adding up to give the number, giving Pi to 6 decimal places.

I'll be hanging around Greenwich most of Thursday, checking out the observatory and maratime museum etc before meeting Vanessa. And no doubt being subjected to unspeakable tortures.

So, if there's anything folks want checking out / photographing etc while I'm there let me know asap.

I've read all the posts, thanks. Actually, though, you reminded me -- it actually says the dome is "bright copper green." It occurred to me that it could mean that the dome is the color "copper green" rather than necessarily made of copper. In which case the Greenwich Observatory could still fit the bill, though not actually made of copper.

THX Dagada. Will ponder your nice rqst like a Raven tomorrow when my brain and comp are less glitchy.

Bottom Line: had an OOG reminder/nudge from our PM stating that we must continue to find Poeas' "shape". Am clueless why it's so important but I've kept her "test Doc." open 24/7 on my desktop.

As I was checking V's Yahoo blog for mnemonics for Pi (esp. the "wine"one) I found Poeas' poem. Cool It's a complicated (for me) Mnemonic to calculate Pi. Source LINK. So, is it likely the shape Poeas asked for is a circle?

EDIT: It appears those FB msgs were NOT from Claire. Guess Dawn and Dreamer will clue her in. Sleepyville for me.

Apparently, not only has Claire *not* sent out any messages, she's also getting messages about comments that aren't there. Creepy.

I'm still unsure about the random facebook links inserted into the FB message. Mine are both the same, save the "words" at the end that are part of the code. From what I can gather, the FB link is:

http://www.facebook.com/l/bf5a2, which obviously is nothing. Also tried http://www.facebook.com/lbf5a2 and it's a dead end. Not good with numbers, AT ALL, so if anyone can make something out of those last string of letters/numbers, go for it. I just feel like there's something there, on facebook, that we need to see. Just don't know what/how.

Also, I just got home from work an hour ago and I've been working on paperwork/dinner (yes, it's almost 10pm here and i'm just getting dinner started), but did Vanessa change her blog entry? Amandel wrote:

but what I'm reading is:

Quote:
'richard of york', 'how i wish i could calculate'

which isn't ROY G BIV.

Hi dawn. If I was unclear, Vanessa is cutting off the ends of the Mnemonics the further along she blogs.

The full "'richard of york" mnemonic is in the Wiki link above. It took me awhile to source back her "I do not drink... wine!!!" as a memory hint for Pi and so stumbled on Poeas' poem as yet another mnemonic for Pi which may be the meta reason for her blog entry. I source linked those two in my post above and hope Telos will take a looksee to calm "weapon wielding" Poeas.

Also, Vanessa seems disoriented and physically unbalanced which is Sad

Gotcha, I was kinda confused. Shocker, huh? Embarassed

V does seem to be going downhill. She almost seems flighty, like she was before when Vlad was still around. Of course, before, she didn't have these huge memory lapse issues.

*giggling* Reckon V befuddles all around to the point of exhaustion. Maybe she's unconsciously using Claire's FB accn't. Dunno
@jessie1326: Our PM is really gracious. While the last recruiting date was April 30th, it may still be possible to join the MOA Ning with an email asking for an invite to: aethalidesSPLATbritain.com.

Thanks, amandel. Smile I've been lurking since this game started up, but I usually to prefer a behind-the-scenes playstyle, so I think I'll leave membership to you all. Smile

ETA: Also, I have reason to believe that the PM has my email address, so I may yet get involved in some more direct way... Shocked

Random thought here: I'm thinking that "Atalanta 1 [CP]" is probably meant to refer to Cynthia Phanes. Would that make sense, given her dates? I can't remember how to pull up Vanessa's family tree...could someone please remind me Sad?

Dreamer, go to tribalpages.com and type in "vanessaatalanta" in the search box. Should pull her family tree right up Smile

Just a heads up.
I may not be involved for the next few days.
On top of internet issues (Comcast can't get it together..) and a busy schedule, I probably won't find much time for this. Sorry about that. Though, it's not as if I'm much of a help right now any way. My brain's been in fail-mode recently.
Any way, I'll check on this when I can.

Beaut catch on [CP], Dreamer; Claire is now in both FB and Mobile misery and V is realiizing she's not A-OK (again Sad )

Vanessa Atalanta from twitter wrote:
I WAS wondering about the last fewdays - my memory isgetting hazier +its like something out of fight club or memento - all fuzzy and such!
Coffee Since, sadly, Telos and all of Poeas' other Ning ctcs are unavoidably hindered atm, emailed her with the circle shape (correct) and the Old Royal Observatory location (fail-mode) as seen from her reply:
Poeas wrote:
When red becomes green
The circle is seen
and men look up at the sky
But their location is in
'Where time does begin'
But instead somewhere else - do try...

Hosts who count down
With Carol and town
On the English terrestrial four
Attended this place
No conundrum or pace
But instead waited by the school door

Now my rhyme comes to an end
Dear foe, or indeed friend
And I make my plans alone it seems now
For those I did ask
Did fail in their task
And the axe will now fall - but how...

A chance as I hope
That time's not a joke
For those who I may need to rely on
Your minds need to focus
To locate the right locus
Times ticking, I plan, The Ministry spies on...

The 2nd stanza is the location key about where I remain clueless. Believe "English terrestrial four" refers to England, N. Ireland, Scotland and Wales. The 1st stanza's "red becomes green" speaks to solar & eclipse viewing through a solar filter (many are green), "essential for both safe solar observation and for bringing out features that would otherwise be invisible."

From the 4th stanza: "To locate the right locus" is used in "navigation, particularly on water; a ship can locate its position from the difference in arrival times of signals from a LORAN or GPS". This is likely Project Tiphys related imo.

Really HTH yet am personally very much more interested in Ancaeus' Ning comments and activities, esp. his curtains.jpeg, titled "Sorry", with a description that reads to me like a secret message to someone else there. Cool
