I'm Idmon. I guess I get to be a guy. Anyway, my name was apparently chosen from me based on my cloud avatar--Idmon was a seer. He foresaw that he would die on the Argo's journey, but joined anyway (and was indeed killed by a boar at some point during the journey).

In response to my trying to remind Claire of the image she'd told us of seeing a bunch of butterflies flapping their wings in a glass case as part of a plotless dream she'd had during the last ARG, she had this to say:

I only caught a few episodes, and fragments of episodes of Fringe, but were butterflies important in one episode? I seem to remember them killing somebody, somehow.

Quick update about Claire:

The red/green flashing lights aren't lightbulbs or LEDs. She's thinking of going off her sleep meds to see if it helps her dream or remember. Trying to find out what she's on.

Things I have done re recruitment:

1. Posted a note on my real-world Facebook profile describing a little bit about what happens in an ARG, explaining that there is one I'm involved in that's just starting, and saying if any of my readers like solving puzzles, interacting with people online, a little bit of improv acting, etc., they should sign up. I included my codename for them to give to Aethalides.

2. Went down the list of players who had pieces represent them in the last chapter of this ARG (found at http://redqueen.wikia.com/wiki/Player_Groups) and, if they don't already seem to be involved, sent them a Facebook message inviting them to get in on this. The only one I couldn't find on my friends list was Sarah Tallon/theclaw/Puddingbat, so feel free to make contact with her.

3. Sent a similar message to almost anyone I've played ARGs with in the past & have on my Facebook friends list, also inviting them to get involved in this one.

In addition to this, I suggested to Jason in a Ning chat that they need a brochure or a poster or something. He may suggest that Aethalides come up with something, but would also like to see us come up with an idea by midnight his time. Well, he wants ME to come up with something by that time, but I won't be able to work on it until tomorrow.

Oh, knowing that Vanessa and Aethalides have been saying that today would be / was a busy workday, I asked Vanessa and Jason when I saw them on the Ning chat if there was something I could do to help.

I haven't yet. I've been doing a bit of back and forth with JPW at his old email first. Then with Claire. I plan on applying very soon, though.

On Fringe: bought the first series box set last month. Butterflies feature in 2 ways so far.
1) There is an episode where a businessman is infected with a parasite which makes him hallucinate - he sees lots of razor winged butterflies fly around him and slice at his skin, his body reacts to the hallucination by creating the cuts out of nowhere. 2) The image of a butterfly is also one of the reoccurring images which seem to be important to the series. This image shows a butterfly with what appears to be bones running up the wings.



I've read up on what they mean in the series, each image (there are a number - an apple, a flower, seahorse, smoke, a leaf etc) represents a letter, the whole alphabet is represented by having the yellow dot in different places on the images (so, a butterfly with the dot in the bottom left is a different letter to one with it in the top right). Using this code messages are sent throughout the episodes - quite ARGy really.

Not sure how its relavent, but might be worth knowing (haven't finished the series yet, so I may be missing something big!).

I hope the psychologist is trustworthy...remember that the nurse who looked after Johan in the first chapter was actually a Ministry of Argon mole.

Aethalides has mentioned "the Family," and V has mentioned that it was "all because of the royals" that the marathon was extended, so a royal connection to the birthdate seems good.

There are 2 Fringe glyphs that have butterflies in them...one stands for O and one stands for P. Hmm.

That's funny, Telos, since when I first joined, Aethalides Libatrix posted a comment on my wall that said: "Welcome Dawn. You have been expected...".

I'm still pondering the hidden message in your one email from JPW. Not sure what to make of it; if it is useful now or will be later.
