It would help if you reposted your email correspondence here by copy and paste. Well, we can find a backstory on the guy who made the blog. He heads a PSP-modding team that focuses on creating new custom firmware.

This team hasn't been successful at all.

Furthermore, I think he's pretty inexperienced because he (apparently) wants us to crack an MD5 hash. What he (probably) doesn't know is that hashes are one-way and are therefore extremely more impossible to crack than his other means of encryption, which are simple and easy.

Like actually impossible. The MD5 he presented us is nearly impossible to crack.
