Memorable moments of ARGs
From I Love Bees to Flynn lives (and everything before and after that)

Remember the ARGer who paricipated in I Love Bees who called one of the payphones.....during a hurricane? If the person he was listening to didn't break character (specific words: "Dude, there's a hurricane; get out of here."), he would have been dead.

This thread is to discuss other moment of ARGs where people were forced to break character, things went wrong, etc.

People do have all sorts of stories about the kind of things you're after, but a lot of them have probably already been mentioned in other threads. There are likely to be plenty of tales in this very sub-forum though you might have to dig for them a bit.

Also, bear in mind that lots of people are getting geared up for the festive season so might not be spending so much time on the forums (and I suspect this Meta section generally gets fewer visitors than the game threads as well).

In the meantime, while you're waiting for replies, have a stroopwafel Stroopwafel Very Happy

Today seems to be a great day for ARGs with the Restitution of the Cube being celebrated 3 years after the games ending. It shows a dedicated fan base and writers. Thanks Mr. Hon and the gang!

This isn't specifically what you're looking for, but does the slow, unsatisfied death of the Cloverfield ARG after the film's viral marketing campaign went unanswered and undeveloped count? It was certainly memorable for me. Crying or Very sad

Memorable PM moments
OC ARG

Orbital COlony was started originally as a training ARG for many of the PMs for that game. Someoof us had limited BTS experience but none of uis had been the perople to come up with the story arc and how it all fit together.

One of my favorite moments from running the game was when it was revealed that Cassandra Scarpe was Davina Bronco's identical twin sister.

We got an echo of the OOG room that the players were hanging out in at the time the information was revealed.

It was very funny all the explicatives that got used. And the comments.... I think I was laughing harder than I ever had for several hours.

Oh man, Orbicon was my first ARG. That brings back memories - I had to stop playing halfway through because My Girlfriend left me...

...But that led on to Meigeist. Best damn ARG I ever played - Really great live event too which had a gang of us running round Bristol hiding from imaginary agents and diving to the floor every time Pat and Dave shouted "GRASS!"

I still have the postcard they sent me thanking me for all my help rescuing Eva Smile
