First let me welcome you to the boards German Raven and DieterSchrade.

Thank you guys so much for sharing what you've done so far with us. This is awesome, collaboration with German ARG'ers!

Now to business. I was reading the German board about the "For Ella" letter and the graphology newsletter, was it implied that we should analyze the handwriting on the letter? Also, caption isn't the right word, I'm trying to think what it could be but I'm not sure. Does the rabbit want us to post our handwriting somewhere??

I have a feeling a lot of this is going to involve personality traits, given that they ask for them in the registration. Could you give us the traits listed in the pdf? I know I saw "Intelligenz" and when I tried to use google to translate the pdf I got Egoism and Vanity as well.

That's all I can think of for now, thanks again guys.

The Rabbit

Hello and thanks for the welcome!

First: For me it's unsure, which role the rabbit plays. Till now, it was more an out of game role, since you had to register over the rabbit-website, and you can read "A Rabbit Production". I would agree, that the puppemasters are responsible for the rabbit. But i got the feeling, that the rabbit doesn't have the same role, as an ingame character. It's mnore like a third party, which acts like a helping friend. The rabbit gave us no specific task, but told us, what would help to do next.

I tried to translate the important parts:

"In a letter the important thing often is found between the lines. To prevent, that you miss something at 66 Letters, the "sophisticated rabbit" permits itself to support your investigation. In the little booklet "handwriting interpretation" you find notes for graphology."

"PS: What type are you? Get familiar with the various types of handwriting and find out which characteristics your own typeface has."

They did not tell us, which of the already found clues we should examine, in the context of graphology. We first refered it to the "For Ella" handwriting, since this is the only part of handwriting so far. But we learned, that even professional graphologes need a hole page of handwriting and different additional information to get to conclusions. So we were asking ourselves, that maybe this was a tip for an upcoming quest. "Get familiar..." in the newsletter also sounds like we should practise an prepare ourselves.

However, in the Book itself, there are listed ten characteristics a person could have:
1. Intelligenz - intelligence
2. Großzügigkeit - generosity, largesse
3. Sozialverhalten und Kontaktfreudigkeit - social behavior & sociableness
4. Bescheidenheit - humility, modesity
5. Zielstrebigkeit - determination
6. Egoismus - egoism, selfishness
7. Zuverlässigkeit und Fleiß - reliability & diligence
8. Eitelkeit - vanity
9. Unaufrichtigkeit - insincerity
10. Rücksichtslosigkeit - ruthlessness, recklessness

I hope i found the right words and this helps you to understand.

Dieter

Yes! You can find a Screenshot of the mail here:

So far as we know, this was kind of a newsletter and everyone who registered at the rabbit website before got it.

Yep that's perfect thank you. I think that will be important.

For now, I do think there is a clue on the tape. The guy says to the little girl, "If you get sad, listen to the tape and think about (Paris) and our trip there" So he made this tape for his little girl, but somehow it got mailed to us?

That's an interesting point, actually. By now, our ideas went more or less in the direction that the grown child finds this cassette in the cellar or some sort of storage, and starts to investigate what happened to the missed father. But that wouldn't transmit the tape to us.

Is it to out-of-game to assume that the puppetmasters just had the game to get going somehow? That would mean that there is no credible ingame explanation why we got the letters?

According to the ARGN article this is some sort of cold case. Would it be out of the realm of possibilities that the person investigating the case, is reaching out to several of you as "amateur detectives" and trying to get you interested in helping.

Thanks so much to Raven and Dieter for all your insight so far. Yes, I forgot to mention that my tape has a "Made in West Germany" notation on it, so I figured that it was probably from at least the 80s. Hopefully I'll have more time soon to poke around the website and catch up with the clues.

Ok, yeah that makes perfect sense given the info on the ARGN article, and it also puts the date of the cassette's into context, as well as the stamp they found.

So just for speculation sake and because I'm bored:
Ella is in her late twenties or early thirties. (Based on date of cassette and her apparent age on the cassette.)
Her dad is missing.
He went to Paris when she was little and didn't come back.
Her dad is a pianist, and either he likes classical music or she does.

I'm making a lot of assumptions, including a big one that Ella is the girl on the tape, but well that's the point of speculating.

Does anyone know when production of the "Brandenburger Tor" ceased? Could gives us a date on one of the later letters.

What is the consensus on the German forums? I get the feeling we're missing some information (Like the game hasn't fully started.) But at the same time there must be some clue out there needing to be solved.

It was built in the years 1788 to 1791, but the stamp is from 1966.

This would also explain the "coming soon" @66letters.net.

*all twitterpated*

apparently I was sent a cassette via ARGNet, which is now in the mail to me. notgordian tried to intercept and record it, but his cassette player broke, and now I guess I have to find one....

hmm... how many ARGers does it take to play a cassette tape?

Since there seemse to be a lull in this ARG, and in the only other one I'm really following, I decided to work on a wiki for this ARG.

So, it seems as if one of our fellow players received a letter, the letter one can find here http://66letters.net/brief.jpg

the letter dates from March 12th 1980 and is written by a woman, C.
C. tells Ella, that she is under medical treatment in a hospital and is also talking about group therapy. There are only women and her group consists of her and 3 others:
A actress, who was in the papers because it was leaked that she was once in a porn movie;
a publisher's wife from Munich, they have 3 children; and a woman, who isn't famous, but has a lot of money, her name seems to be Hofer and is living near Singen/Bodensee (Lake Constance)

(more later, the girl who received the letter is working at the moment)

7/66 is written on the envelope, so, it might be the 7th letter out of 66.

sorry for doublepost, but it seems as if a lot of people will receive letters now, at the moment #7, #9 and #11 are known.
Trying to translate them as soon as possible for you Smile
