Oh poo!!
I'm fairly convince now that it has nothing to do with Cloverfield.
As much as I love that movie, I'd prefer they did nothing rather than make a prequel...I've had enough prequels.

Well, he could be technically be telling the truth. Cloverfield was a case designate all on its own maybe this is a different event different place. He always said we're playing with ideas for a sequel but if we do it, it will be completely DIFFERENT. I'm saying YEA for cloverfield 2. And you know he is reading these forums... He's not gonna let his Cloverfans down I know it...

I totally didn't think about that. I'm gonna feel like a fool if he meant it LITERALLY.

That's whats different about this movie the title is a label for an event. So if Cloverfield was the case designate for the NY attack then maybe this film "Super8" is about a whole different event that really has absolutely NOTHING to do with case designate Cloverfield. Last we heard he was working in Europe.

Plus Dennis posted it on Cloverfield Clues, and he won't post anything unless he knows, he's pretty legit with his facts.

If they say the name "Mr. Grumpy Pants" in a Cloverfield movie, I'll just lose it.

Yet, he still leaves Hal's comment on the boards.
I found this: Super 8
We shall see.

idk this just stuck out to me: Is there a better way to keep secret monster movies under wraps? "I'm working on it," he told us before returning to his meal

Take this with a grain of salt. I'm skeptical because of the password lock that's on the trailer but here it goes
according to this it has something to do with a train moving everything from area 51 to a secret location in Ohio and the train derails and appearntly there was a creature also on board AND its produced by speilberg.

I followed that link, and the links from the IMDB page lead to some REALLY interesting blogs... This looks like it is turning into something. The blogs are here: http://500rads.blogspot.com/

Hey Magog,
both those blogs have been found before and there is some discussion in this thread in the Cloverfield archive [Linky] . Make sure you use the search facility before you post
[Edit] To add that I forgot which thread I was in myself! If you use search that find goes back to November here

I was simply reaffirming the link that RasGold had already posted, so it apparently wasn't I who should get chastised, but rather the original poster.
The blogs do appear to be related anyways, as the poster on the 500rads blog has a picture of Super 8 film on the blog, which AS FAR AS I CAN FIND, has not been mentioned anywhere in this thread, it would be odd to have a picture of that, and not be related to Super 8.

Not chastising, just pointing some stuff out that might help you and others get more info out of the thread. I'm much too weird and passive agressive to chastise. I follow people home on the bus and post my finger-nail clippings through their door.

Just for those who may not know, but Super 8 was a type of 8mm home movie film cartridge made by Kodak in the 60's-70's that made home movie making available to the masses.... kinda like the predecessor to todays home video cams.
The name automatically suggests an event that occurred during that era.. sounds cool..
