This is fiction, alternate reality. We are not going to find an actual filed report for an accident with a truck and a train that let an alien loose in Ohio. Even if there were such a real incident, if the UFO-conspiracy-nutcases haven't found it yet, I don't think we're going to suddenly unearth it as a result of research a JJ Abrams film.

Of course we know that! We're just looking for the bread crumbs Laughing

[spec]It would probably be covered up by the government anyway. I have a feeling that massive government cover-ups will be a part of this whole experience, though.[/spec]

but the year is 1979 not 1976..

I know...it was the only train accident on record around that time period that involved a collision with an automobile.

there's got to be a record of something like this though.. something to give us a start point to radiate from.. hmmmmmm..

JJ I hope you read this forum or you have no idea of what lengths we are willing to go to for you Wink

Peebles, Ohio, possible setting

According to various websites, Peebles, Ohio is home to The GE Peebles facility, which is described as "Ohio's Area 51." Im not sure if this ARG will be inspired by real places and events, but anything is possible at this point.

Sorry, it cut off for some reason and can't edit:

Last post, I swear.
Steven Spielberg tie-in. From the Close Encounters of the Third Kind wiki: "When a despairing Roy inadvertently sees a television news program about a train wreck near Devils Tower National Monument in Wyoming, he realizes the mental image plaguing him is real." Very Happy

Possible Historical Link
Links

Not sure if this will help but I was researching a possible historical link to the train accident in the trailer. Based on the year 1979, Nevada to Ohio, and Freight. I was able to locate this.

RAILROAD ACCIDENT REPORT--DERAILMENT OF UNION PACIFIC RAILROAD FREIGHT TRAIN, GRANITE, WYOMING, JULY 31, 1979

This seems alittle far north until you look at a map of US Railways and r
