What have other people got?

Mine is also on line 6 , but the other five lines say "previously accessed", none are saying "sectors loaded" anymore. Last night before i went to bed, it was at line 4, line 3 said "sectors loaded" and the rest said " previously accessed"

Alright. I analyzed the sound through a program and got some interesting stuff. Kinda.

14sec~ : Some guy says (southern accent), "I put it on there twice."

22sec~ : Military com speak...hard to understand.

31sec~ : More com talk, I can only understand the end of it, "Target in tact, [something] on schedule."

44sec~ : More com chatter. Easier to understand, "Copy [something, I assume he's responding to the train's previous message], expect [EXPLOSION]

58sec~ : Honestly sounds like a dinosaur scream. Could be noise from the train, or maybe another homage to Spielberg's works.

And...that's all I could get. Seems like nothing, just com chatter to and from the train. I wish I had a better program to analyze the sound with, but alas.

If anyone wants to analyze the sound themselves (or has a better program), let me know. I'll send you the sound file.

Folks - please use SMALLER screen caps or just provide ATTACHMENTS to avoid the stretching of the thread with overly large images.

Thank you!

Carry on.

You're fully right about homage! JJ Abrams told about it:
http://nymag.com/daily/entertainment/2010/04/vulture_exclusive_jj_abrams_ne.html

Quote:
Our sources tell us that Abrams is in discussions with Spielberg, and insist the DreamWorks co-founder will be involved in some capacity, whether as an executive producer or at least as an adviser, since "J.J. wants to make sure Steven is properly paid homage to. This is really an interpretation of some of Spielberg's earlier films, but done in a personal way."

I can't imagine the movie will be from the Cloverfield-type home recording view point.

With Cloverfield, this was ok, because Hud was using a modern HD camera. Going by the title of the film and the time period (1970s)...I would assume that the people filming in the movie will be using a Super 8.

Super 8mm film has nowhere near the quality of today's movies, and I doubt they would be willing to risk releasing an entire movie filmed with Super 8mm.

Just thinking out loud.

I'm quite sure it's actually software that allows you access to remote computers rather than a camera looking at the screen.

Also the fact you actually have to type things in would suggest software for access on other computers.

I believe it was mentioned before but the desktop suggests a VNC-like view into a Motif/AIX X-Windows desktop. The three icons are email (emacs), print (lprint), and either terminal or notepad (can't remember that one).

God...I'm dating myself. Wink

Double posting because I could only add one attachment per post.
Here's the original orientation for reference. (see attached)

First, I should explain that my laptop is on it's last leg. I can't view flash nor video content properly; it's excruciatingly slow and choppy with the audio playing in advance of the images. Sad, right? Nope, not realy. It turns out to be an advantage in this case because I was able to see the below attachment and get a screenshot.
If you look for it on the bootleg trailer, don't rely on the counter in this screenshot. This comes after the steel is banged out and just before the letters appear in the lens.

I did scan through most of this thread before posting. If this is trout, I like mine drenched in butter, please. Smile

I flipped and rotated the image because that seems to be what was needed to read the letters "scariestthingieversaw".

To me it looks like (spoilered so you can decide for yourself)
