Why do the mods watch for troutings? Are they dangerous?

Doh! I'm unaware of the etiquette behind these things. I take my flounder with pride (moreso as I have one of the little lovies in my tank Very Happy)

How to Trout:
1) politely link to the previous post on the subject that qualifies this one as trout;
2) make your post's subject [TROUT]; and
3) add our friend the trout emoticon your post.
Code:
:trout:

This makes it far easier for the mods to find and label - and it makes it fun.

This hasn't been posted and may in fact be common knowledge with no need to post, but the location in Ohio where the material was moved from Area 51 in 1979 is Hanger 18 at Wright Patterson AFB in Dayton OH.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hangar_18

I grew up near there and remember the rumors and stories well. My Grandfather claimed to have friends on the base with direct knowledge of the events. (Of course as some of you may know this same Grandfather also told me aliens would abduct children from their beds late at night as he was tucking me in so take it for what its worth)

We have a wiki! Jumping on this now before there's too much to document...

Please bookmark, and help populate!
Also note that for spam-fighting purposes you can't create new pages until you've had an active account for 24 hours Wink

eta: hah, d'oh kosmo!

Any way you can add my site to the wiki? It's been getting a lot of attention from the movie blogs today so hopefully it'll spark some good discussion.

They took apart the SWF file, and apparently this should happen on May 18 at 20:00 PDT.

Hate to Trout but I've already posted this Wink

Interesting! I've since been trying to bruteforce an answer out of the SWF but I can't seem to find anything of importance. Mostly, I was looking to see if those files pointed to an internet address for downloading. Then again, I'm terrible at reading actionscript, so perhaps someone more adept than me can take a look,

I PM'd his steps to you. I didn't want to post it here, that is unless ya'll want me to.

@Chinghis
I still think it's not only OOG, but rather gamejack. At Blogspot you always have the possibility to backdate your blogposts... Did we have seen this post with 8mm before?

Re: the 500rads blogspot, I think it's trying too hard to be all things Abrams -- the title of the most recent post ("Find the Crack") refers to the message on a pen in the last episode of Fringe.

Ah, thanks. I need to pay more attention to popular culture, didn't recognize that.

Dang, forgot about backdating. Don't know if it was noticed before, since no one is really paying attention to it. I'll let it go, you're right Very Happy

OOG: 500 Rads and A Confidential Project blogs

Something is bugging me here about 500 Rads and "A Confidential Project" (Sakura/Thad's blog). I know we've largely decided (in the Cloverfield forum) that they're OOG and all that, but I just noticed that the Project blog has an entry dated 4/29 that has an image that says "This photo was scanned from Super 8 mm film."

And, when you print the page at scariestthingieversaw.com, it says "Stop posting publicly. I can answer your questions. I have proof." This seems oddly consistent with the kind of thing that's been going on at those two blogs ...

Probably just stroking someone's ego here, but, still, it's a bit curious. Maybe these bloggers are working on the movie (check out the pictures of the room ("This is the room in which I currently reside") and "This is what I see out my window." Old West decor, desert scenes ... Area 51??
