OK Please be sure to have someone post a summary of the IRC as "some of us" (read: ME) cannot access IRC at work...

Just loaded this for the first time.
For those of you who can't access IRC-- we're basically just comparing the rates at which our bytes are increasing. None of us are increasing at a rate faster than 1 or 2 bytes every 5 seconds or so. No one's gone above 15690 yet.

Why is the startup screen Copyright 2002, and the software 1977. Looking through history, or time travel related?

Lot's of reasons could be speculated. Maybe we are accessing an old computer network? We don't have a ton of information to go on, so I say just let this play out for a little bit. After all, the mystery is the fun of it.

We obviously aren't sitting at the computer desktop we are seeing, hence using the 'remote' app. The program being run on that desktop is a PDP 11 emulator, which would be a contemporary computer system to the era of the film. Basically, we are accessing a computer remotely in current time, running an emulator in current time which allows us to run some old software from the time of the incident.
