Wow, now I am starting to see how lucky I was not to learn anything about the Cloverfield Viral until about 2 weeks before the movie premiere. With that being said, I think everyone should take a deep breath, and just wait for the 13th, consider yourself lucky it is only a 7 day countdown and not a 7 week or 7 month one.

The print screen does indicate that there is more to be found, but frankly without additional info , I doubt it will be.

On a side note has anyone with mad Google-fu done a search for a blog or website belonging to D. (presumably Dan) Morris?

Oh dear now you've given me a task to do.

Only this so far:
http://www.wanttoknow.info/ufocover-up10pg#morris

http://www.galactic-server.com/rune/greer6.html

Interesting related quote:

"They went to Wright-Pat Air Force Base in Dayton, Ohio, where we usually send most of what we recover. There are about eight levels under the ground, and we store it there."

well, I've found a lot of stuff regarding Dan Morris (assuming it's this Air Force guy, who has a super-duper-uber-mega-secret rank)

Well I don't follow ARGs as intensely as I used to (Back in 2007) these days so is there a link to a sort of 'The Story So Far' thing?

I gather you found some NAME, DATE and KODAK related thing on the flash site and there is this weird terminal site and someone uncovered some sort of sound clip of a conversation or something.
Should I be here with that attitude?
I was here with Cloverfield.

I think we should really contact a guy from the "Mysterious USB Drive" thread to help us with codes.....

Anyone know what "CBC" is? When the page first loads, it says something about CBC 2002. The only thing I could find is something about birds Laughing .

Yeah that's what I thought too but I figured I'd keep a close eye on it. On another subject, one of the boxes has CBCData written on it. I stripped the ata part and googled CBCD and found this...

http://upload.wikimedia.org/math/2/d/6/2d6da3f91f0d035af2973579095feea3.png

It explains how to read CBCD Lab tests which are blood tests to find different types of bacteria etc. Could this lead to somewhere where Area 51 staff were testing on the creature to see if it could be contagious in some way. Sort of like clovie with the parasites that made you explode?

I realize a few things were already said about the "Copywrite CBCData" but wanted to add an addition of a few things I had researched about it.
@RAD24 Ironically when I first searched CBC I did find some 'el oh el' searches about birds as well but I also was able to find this:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Block_cipher_modes_of_operation
(sorry for it being wiki I thought it had some decent info though)

It goes about explaining different types of ways to "encrypt" messages. Such ways include ECB, CBC, OFB and CFB along with a few more 'modern' encrypts. Particularly "CBC" standing for Cipher-block chaining, it's usually used for 'longer' confidential messages because of its ability to provide padding.

(Not saying that Yiddleja is not also on a lead, just coming from a bit of a programming background and the site seem to be revolving around top secret data and remote messaging I feel this might possibly be something to look into especially if something that becomes available to the public via May 13th needs decrypting)

What particularly sparked my interest, was the way ECB works. (if you reference the page it shows an example through a picture) Where the image itself has basically had a 'noise' filter added on through means of code, in which one knowing the key could unlock.

-Anyways it also goes about explaining how CBC works and in fact there is a encrypt and a decrypt formula to it. The mathematical decrypt below:

I guess because of this process of encrypting sometimes theres a setback in which the user must go through a different method often times due to the message requiring "padded to a multiple of the cipher block size." In which the user must resort to Block ciphertext stealing. More info here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Block_cipher_modes_of_operation
Which brings the user into a 7 step process of math filled fun! (oh how exciting)
I can only hope they do not expect us to decode something of this sort. But in case they do, the links go over the various steps in the process.

@@geezyj (Page20) about seeing the person holding the camera, I defiantly see it as well. With the highlight closest to the left being the light bouncing off the figures hand, and the square box with the extreme highlight being the metal from which the light is highly reflective. And the other highlight found between the two the figures neck. But then again alot of photos could be playing tricks. But I'll say I do agree~

Also something I didn't see mentioned here, other than Kosmopol stating the photo itself looked like a face. A guy (Nelson) on http://www.super8news.com/ under the 'Mystery Face Near The End of The Trailer?' commented on how he had thought perhaps the 'alien' or 'monster' was already shown in the trailer. He then went about posting a link of the mirrored photo ( http://rambo09.deviantart.com/art/Super-8-JJ-abrams-ALIEN-163366625 ) either way still interesting and I believe worth giving a look Wink

Hope that helped. I was a little late on the Clovy ARG. After seeing Ironman last night and watching the trailer I sure don't want to miss out on this one!

BTW: When I first went to the Scariesthingeversaw site, I was given a whole bunch of prompts until it just continued to give me "yes" questions. I typed Y and enter around 50 times and still gave me nothing, now when visiting the site I still receive the same message as below:

Any suggestions on how to get the DL to start? (Using Mac OS Snow Leopard btw)

(btw, if it was already said that it is necessary to post as an image, plz ignore my evil rant Twisted Evil Twisted Evil kthxbai!)

Some people have reported that on certain machines with certain browsers, using the letter "Y" doesn't work, they have to type the number "1" instead.

With the ET coming out of the train in the camera lens.. and the yellow truck, Abrams admission the movie is 'an homage to spielberg's movies redone in a more personal way' maybe this movie's going to be a retelling of one (or more) of his films. Say, ET/CEo3K as a more suspense/horror genre...

It's not really personal preference. It's about uF's formatting. Large pictures stretch the window for all posts and make it difficult to read actual discussions. Not to mention that the attachment feature shows small thumbnails that make it easier for people with slow bandwidths to view the site. A simple click on an attachment will show the picture as full size in a separate tab.

To those new to the forums, you can attach files by looking to the left of the "Post a reply" page and click "Add an Attachment". Browse for the file you'd like to attach and add a caption if necessary then click the "Add Attachment" button. This doesn't actually post the message yet, merely adds the file to the queue to be posted when you're ready. Once you've clicked "Add Attachment" the page will show what attachments you've already added and allow you to repeat the process if you want to attach more than one file. You can return to typing your message by clicking "Message Body" also on the left.

And another very useful feature that new members often miss is the "Edit" button on all of your own posts. It's located at the bottom right and is great for correcting mistakes or adding new information you just thought of.

Hope that helps everyone out! Very Happy

I've currently got the site bookmarked. Here's hoping this leads to the HD version of the teaser going online! Very Happy
