Ehm people, is it completely false information or is something true in?
I'm right now coincedentally came to the Wiki article of a short movie by Spielbeerg "Amblin'"
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Amblin%27

Actually, "Super 8" is produced by the company "Amblin' Entertainment", that has E.T.-Bicycle as logo and name after this short movie.

And in wiki there is following information:

Quote:
Homage
Steven Spielberg produced with Super 8 the homage to his film, it will be directed by JJ Abrams.[2]
http://www.bloody-disgusting.com/news/20120

UPDATE. Even I've saw, they misunderstood it.

They mistook film name with company name, hehe.

500rads/Super 8/Cloverfield all linked?

I knew I had see the Super 8 Movie logo before!

Thad/Hal used something similar to it as an avatar at one point (which you can't back-date the avatar, btw):

From 1/20/2010 - WE'VE GOT A BIT!

Both the Avatar and Moniker were changed on May2nd!
Days before the Super 8 Trailer was revealed!

Ehhh, I see the resemblance, but I'm 99,9% sure the Super * pic is meant to be just that- the lens of a Super 8 film camera.

I don't think JJ would mix aliens and artificial intelligence for a movie, personally... For a series, maybe, but not a movie. Razz

Nice coincidence, but Super8 has so much to do with Hal's logo as with mine own logo Very Happy

Anyway, if JJ Abrams would do a homage to Kubrick, he would use this reference. But he is very cautious about his allusions, and since he makes a homage to Spielberg, I'd call it just nice coincidence.

And Hal/Sakura story is a nice fan-fiction, which perhaps deservs its own thread, but it shouldn't be brought in here, because otherwise people will be mixed up like in the times of Ethan Haas. And another Ethan Haas may kill the fun again...

I would argue that "RADS" on its own is a sufficiently uncommon string of letters together to perhaps rule out coincidence.

Gamejack is sucky.

We don't care about your blog.

A Paramount film is going to use iconic (and presumably copyright enforceable) imagery from a MGM film in it's promotion.

Yeah, right.

re:HAL9000

Well a big red ball IS a JJ Abrams staple (Tagruato, Alias' Rambaldi sphere, Star Trek red matter...) so please do be on the lookout for one during the ARG! (unless the super8 camera lens with the red stripe through it is this game's big red ball.)

I don't want to start discussion, but it is not linked to Rad, it's rather linked to "Radsr Installation Unlimited" or such kind of stuff.

Or, say so: even if it were connected to "500 Rads", which were mentioned by JJ Abrams as his top secret project, it is in no way connected to all the 500 Rads blogs (which are fan fiction) floating around right now. I repeat, as fan fiction it's OK. But it has no place in our "Super 8"-discussion.

You know, J.J. Abrams is a busy guy: he's writing/producing this, MI4 *and* the "Cloverfield sequel" for 2011. But it's interesting to note that "Super 8" is the only one he's DIRECTING.

So we have This AND Cloverfield 2 to look forward to next year? And for the record if he were to NOT do MI4 I would be perfectly ok with it. I am rather tired of Tom Cruise and wish he would simply retire...

Nope haven't checked it for stegging, and no worries. The wiki can't have everything, and reading through 30 pages of ... well let's just say I don't blame you Smile
