Alright, not Cloverfield 2, but seems cool nonetheless:

Here's the description of the trailer, from the above link:
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
"In 1970 Area 51 was closed down and everything was shipped to an undisclosed location in Ohio". Then you see a train carrying lots of cargo loads. Cut to a car driving down the road that jumps up on the tracks and heads straight toward the train. Cut to black screen and then the words "From Director J.J. Abrams". Then back to the train and car colliding into each other, the the train derails, the camera slowly zooms in on one of the tipped over cargo cars of the derailed train, then something is punching on the walls inside the train cart trying to escape. Cut to black screen and then the title "Super 8".

Wow people (and hello everybody btw! ),
even if it has nothing to do with Cloverfield, but it will have to do with JJ Abrams, and this is making me hope we'll experience another great story.
Anyway, in that article was said:
Quote:
So to clarify: Super 8 — another virally marketed Abrams-produced movie featuring otherworldly creatures captured on film by amateur cinematographers — will be totally unconnected to Cloverfield.
So I just hope, that the fact of "virally marketed" movie is more than just a supposition by the author of this article.
P.S. And "House of Leaves" directed by JJ Abrams - that were my favourite. movie. ever.

Thanks Magog, but let's try and keep discussion in this thread rather than that one. Splitting discussions and duplicating things just makes them difficult for people to follow, with my modly social sellotape I've been encouraging that - see this and this for example. Please stop teasing at the corners of my craftwork

I cannot wait for the trailer.
Can somebody reconstruct it with toy train and car and stuff?

Perhaps then the offending threads should be locked, or combined into one big thread, to prevent duplication, and confusion. Putting it all in one thread was part of the reason I posted that link. Just a thought, not trying to tell you how to do your job.

It'll likely show up here fairly soon after any online discoveries.

Spielberg? Based in the 80's? Oh noes! It's E.T. 2!! The truck belongs to Elliot or Gerti! E.T.'s DAD is in that train. They're trying to SAVE HIM!!
Oh, wait... based in the 70's?? Oh lordzez!! It's Close Encounters Of The Eighth Kind! It all makes sense. The scale only goes up to 7. Making this encounter the SUPER 8! It's the revenge of Roy Neary!! In 3D IMAX!!!
Sorry, I just got up from being sick all night and was really bummed to hear that this wasn't Clovie 2. Oh well, still sounds like it might be fun!

Thanks for not telling me how to do my job
Merging would be messy at this stage and more confusing than it's worth. Locking we avoid doing as it tends to be counterproductive. That was proved during the first round of Cloverfield when locking threads just led to frantic modding, more being created and a bad atmosphere. Dupe threads die naturally if discussion is actively occurring elsewhere.

a bootleg trailer has hit the interwebs
EDIT: I've attached a picture which contains each frame from the end of the trailer. Something is written on the film...I'm not sure if it's meant to say anything but there are definitely letters. All I can see is "HI" in frame 7...if someone else wants to try puzzling them together though...here they are.

The header image on http://500rads.blogspot.com/ has changed to the train car the thing was beating on.
Someone wants us to pay attention.
