that would make sense. Id rather have a big lull at the beginning before things really got going. Its worse when you have a huge break right in the middle.

Mistake, or clue?

I'm at an internet cafe on holiday and have few seconds left (I think) but recall on the HLM site when comments from readers were up and someone (can't recall, don't have time to link it up) had something related to Super that had been posted, and then was dropped?

While there's a delay in game, could that mean something we've not yet figgered out? I had commented in the past that the first initials of the names of posters anagram out to "dream, armed."

What say you?

Captain Kurt said "Jack Minker..." Possibly a Freudian slip as a search for Jack Minker brings up this:http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jack_Minker
Quote:
Jack Minker is a leading authority in artificial intelligence, deductive databases, logic programming and non-monotonic reasoning. He is also an internationally recognized leader in the field of human rights of computer scientists.

So maybe this is Transformers 3...... Wink

Apologies in advance if this has been mentioned, utilizing the search function did not return anything.

Paramount using Peli's Area 51 film as a smokescreen for him to film footage for Super 8?

Quote:
Peli began shooting Area 51, another found-video thriller which is described as a "claustrophobic terror", last month in Utah. Peli is trying to keep details under wraps, saying "I'd rather not say anything about 'Area 51′ except that I am very pleased to be working with the same team who stood by me for the two or three years it took 'Paranormal Activity' to get into theaters."
All we know is that the new film will have a "significantly larger budget than the $11,000 that was spent on Paranormal Activity, the story will be framed in a "found footage" narrative, and will center around "three teenagers whose curiosity leads them to the legendary and mysterious Area 51 Air Force base deep in the Nevada desert."

I don't think that has been brought up before either. Good work!

ahhh

Well if you have checked it lately a new background has appeared and there seems to be a printer, email, and note pad icons in the back. I also agree with the sound thing. Both of those should be looked at and don't get to worked up lol. Abrhams is messing with us and we no it.

Many are suggesting themes of a water monster and so on. For those who have read the secret message found on the printer at "Scariestthingieversaw" they mention a foghorn, often used at sea. Also a possible reference to Ray Bradbury's "Fog Horn" a story about a sea monster. Apparently there was a secret image in Cloverfield from the movie "Fog Horn" based on the story by the same name. It all points to a sea monster of some sort. In my personal opinion from the trailer the crate is both small and on land, therefore making me doubt the existence of a sea monster. One things I have not seen discussed it any forums is the fact that the truck veered onto the railroad tracks head on. I think we can all agree that whatever is being contained is responsible for the truck. Just linking a few things people have discussed. Feedback or corrections are definitely wanted

Ninelives;

Welcome; and yes regarding "it" being a water based creature seems iffy—the trailer states, "IN 1979, THE U.S. AIR FORCE CLOSED A SECTION OF AREA 51; "ALL MATERIALS WERE TO BE TRANSPORTED TO A SECURE FACILITY IN OHIO." To support a water-based creature in the barren climes of the Nevada nuclear test range seems highly unlikely, as does fitting a train to transport such "material." Under the right conditions—perhaps the downed electric pole with live wires striking the train car—provided, or removed restrictions hampering, the "it" with the ability to rotate a security latch (?) on the outside (though there could have been an interior element to it) and the strength to do some serious damage to the door and pop the rivets off the side.

And as regards "the truck [that] veered onto the railroad tracks head on," I understand what you mean but it just struck me as rather funny if the truck had "veered onto the tracks" going backwards.

Whether the driver intended on making contact with the engine of a freight train up close and personal, or was controlled in some manner to do so, is yet to be seen, but stick around; there'll be much more fun before this is all over, and if you haven't reviewed the "Game Summary" sticky, it's a good place to get up to speed.

Appreciate your comments.

What the hell is going on?

What is all this? I opened some chat thing, but it said "IP address not recognized." The only thing I can go to now is the green font asking for a device. I also heard stuff relating to newspaper clippings, but all I've done is just hit "Y" a bunch of times and ".REENTER" once.

First time doing one of these types of things (pre-movie internet stuff).

Welcome, I believe you should read the Game Summary (its on the top of the inicial page of the Super 8 forum) there you will find answers to some (perhaps all) of your questions. Its a very good place to start, its a little long Laughing but the game is on the tracks for a while now.

Haha, thanks for the guidance. After watching Cloverfield I wanted to get a little more background info on the monster, but the most I could dig up was something pertaining to a slushie drink. Some weird sh*t... Anyway, thanks for that because I'm genuinely curious about this movie now.
