So Chainsaw;

Are you suggesting Dr. Guest is perhaps afflicted "Truna Gandung?"

And Gramma;

Nah, don't think it's JJ, I've actually heard he's quite the nice fellow. It just surprises me (though the longer I've been involved with this ARG, I see this type drop in, distract, madden, and strike up an attitude) when you try and offer some help. They want the easy answer without having to do the research. I mean this forum could be better, but the fact that it has SO many threads on numerous subjects and access to a search engine could have easily have answered our dear Guest's questions if he/she/it had just taken the time to look!

Most people go to movies to be entertained. The story is played out on a screen before us, which we watch. There is no real interaction with the characters or storyline. It requires nothing more from us than our attention and the price of a ticket. Normally no one questions why we do this.

Most people engage in ARGs to be entertained. The story is played out in the real and cyber worlds. There is actual interaction with the characters and the storyline. It requires our attention, curiosity, speculation, investigation and collaboration to keep the storyline moving and hopefully come to a satisfying resolution. And it's free. What's wrong with a little critical thinking?

Either you get it or you don't.

IMO – it beats sodoku, crossword puzzles and golf.

Angry Guests

I think that there are people who have nothing better to do than start crap with someone that can't do anything back. They start fights in forums because you can't actually do anything to them. They get pushed around in RL and try to take it out on people here. I agree that we need to just ignore them.

P.S. I love golf!

P.S. again.... I think the three dots are going to be our next big find...

Totally agree except ... I confess to playing Wii golf!! Shocked

Oh yeah, I break out the Wii and play golf. But I also play on Xbox360 and PC and .. Get ready for this.. Pencil and paper cryptograms!

Anyway, love it and can't wait for more --- Besides, I'm a Rocket Poppeteer!

This message was totally useless -- it's a fact. But I had fun typing it!
Ok, back to luck mode......

[OFF TOP]

Eleven72;

Thanks for the vid, I checked Youtube and there are a BUNCH of vids regarding this incident. One interesting one was sort of a compilation of some of the many that have been posted--bottom line some believe it was a hoax, while others claim the person responsible for the "stunt"--a truck with a RC airplane with neon/led lights was supposedly arrested, but it seems that after the "arrest" the blue meanie was filmed later on that night, and that the same one(?) was seen in different states.

And then there were the ones that were seen on the 13th (which was supposed to be the date someone had predicted UFO sightings).

Yhe interesting thing about the vid you posted is the large tractor trailer that was towing a flatbed with rather unusual cargo (with police escort). The police escort and convoy could have just been a coincindence, but the babbling photographer who continues to yell throughout the eff -bomb laced clip, "Danger, they were saying danger, stay away," was rather odd.

Interesting. The footage reminds me on Cloverfield. Even if it is not related, it's nice clip Smile

Exactly. To me, honestly, it wasn't the supposed "UFO" at the end that sparked my interest. That could be pulled off easily, although the sound accompanying it was curious.

The only reason I though of S8 immediately was the huge cargo truck & police escort. I know, I know, Super 8 is set in the 70's, but nonetheless. =]

ETA: Well, it doesn't look like it requires a police escort... and was moving a hell of a lot faster than the truck in this video.

The Mystery Truck

You're not far off relating the truck in the original vid with S8, (and again, I don't know if the truck and the convoy had anything to do with the UFO and helo chase) but it is a fact that there is not a railway line from/through/to Area 51, so in the movie there must be a mode of transportation from Area 51 to the nearest rail line (which I believe would be Vegas.)

That being said, there are planes that have massive carrying capacity and could have easily hauled the S8 cargo from Area 51 to Nellis AFB, but why stop there, why not just fly to Dayton?

So, it's highly likely that the S8 Mystery box was transported via tractor trailer to Vegas, and then connected to the railway to Dayton.

If the truck and its entourage were part of some response team in reaction to the UFO sighting, it would be interesting to know what that truck was hauling. I was thinking (if it was involved in the UFO chase) that it may have been some concentrated EMP projector? Confused

Hey guys, so I'm new to the whole arg thing, but I'm kinda getting into it.

I'm thinking super 8 may actually be connected to cloverfield?

The scariestthingieversaw.com website has connections to that hooklineandminker.com blog, which the admin of is trying to obtain a Coelacanth, which is supposed to be the link between fish evolving into tetrapods.

The coelacanth came from the sea, it's descent evolved to live on the land.
Clover also came from the sea to the land.

So I'm thinking Super 8 might actually be a prequel to Cloverfield, they possibly had something like an ancestor of clover (which somehow clover freakishly evolved to be massively larger?) or maybe even something like clover as a baby or egg or something.

I don't know, I just have a hunch that it's about clover's origin.

Ok then, thanks for that, saved me a lot of time that i could have stupidly spent trying to connect the two Very Happy

Also has anyone tried emailing 'Josh' from hooklineandminker?
his email is 'hlm1963@yahoo.com', I'm guessing 1963 is his date of birth, and since the movie is set in the 70's, so I'm guessing he had something to do with it.
