Hey Bluefire. 2old2play is an unpaid labor of love for me. My "real" job is completely outside of the realm of video games, computers and ARG's. Though I can check things from work now and again, it would be frowned upon if I spent hours in front of my computer at work playing SPO and trying to solve puzzles. Very Happy

BTW, which event do you organize?

And what the hell- aerodynamics in vacuum? Pardon me, I'm a chemist and not a physicist or an engineer but- that sounds like a tad bit of a reach, doesn't it? I mean, yes you want control and such, but if you are talking about adjusting shape for velocity in a vacuum...well it sounds a tad silly to me.

Unless the medium that you are moving in, even though not air, has a density and resistance to movement that can be reduced by a certain construction design. Perhaps electrical charge or some quantum force?

I suppose it could be the resistivity of the material the signal is being sent through.

Sorry. Just had to share...
Years ago, in electronics school for the Army, a group of us were into D&D and one guy (Named Flynn, coincidentally) created a dungeon based on one of the radio circuits we were studying. So, if you went through a resistor, you'd shrink. You could only go through a diode one way. A transistor would give you extra strength. etc. Thanks for making me remember that. Good times!

EDIT: I just realized. That was 1982!

::gives a suspicious look:: Encom had an army back then, eh?

Seriously though, that's actually pretty cool. And nerdy. But cool.

And nerdy. Wink

So anyone know if we are getting Flynn Lives badges for entering the codes in?

There were three, one for the Lvl 5, one for the Lvl 10 and one for the Lvl 15 code. You can see them here

All cool, so just like the countdown clock the website has to take it's time sending the data to the servers.

Hmm...not sure, I logged out of the terminal on HelloFlynn and logged into Flynn Lives immediately after and all three badges were there. I know some folks have had a problem with badges posting but I haven't experienced it myself.

If it's a new URL, there will be no connection to your Flynn Lives account unless they ask you to log in on that site. That's standard browser cookie/security protocol. Because SPO.com never asked for a login, it never awarded anything for playing the game to any degree. HelloFlynn asked for a login, thus certain actions could award you badges in your profile.

Until we find that SPO asks for a login, I personally don't see much draw to go back and attempt to complete the game, since the score itself isn't even stored... it would purely be for bragging rights, to myself Razz meh. We got the secret content we know about. If they make any changes or updates to SPO, then I'll go back, hehe. Then again, maybe a game here or there would be fun just to pass time. Wink

Unless it prompts you for a login once attaining a specific set of circumstances (e.g. the log in prompt once you have destroyed 99/999 recognizers).

Yes, which SPO never did, thus, no reason to accomplish what others have 'pre-tested' =P

Anyone try ripping the resources from the SPO .unity3d file to see if we've missed anything? I've been googling, but my google-fu is weak and figured there might be another bit-head out there willing to give this route a shot to see if anything new shakes loose.

I've been trying to find ways to decompile the tron2v7.unity3d file myself. I mainly wanted to see if it was possible to throw it back into the unity 3d software so I could get a good view of each level structure to draw up a detailed map of each level with enemy and powerup locations. Might just have to go old school on it and pull out a pad of graphing paper. lol.

Just annoying since walls aren't consistent in length. You size what you think is a cubic section of wall only to realize that there are some longer and shorter. Wolfenstein was much easier to draw out. lol. I'm just being lazy is all. maybe i'll sit down and do it later.

So how was HelloFlynn.com discovered? I had no idea this page existed until I read up on the boards a few minutes ago.

I found it going through the FL message boards since I was unable to play SPO from work (they won't upgrade Flash here) and saw the link, which led to another site utilizing Flash (which I couldn't see) so I posted here.

Turns out I could play SPO from work, but I don't think that would be wise.... in a pretty visible area.... would get caught for sure.

Not to sound like a smart ass. I have never liked mice and I use something that is inverted, called a TRACK BALL.

I had fun playing SP but there were glitches in level 13 and I never went past that after the program locked up on me for the third time. I had to do the old CTRL-ALT-DEL and start over.
