I didn't realize the text was from Kennedy's address. If so then it would definitely date around end of July, 1963. That would also fit in for timing with the Gordon Cooper ad on page 1, as he would have already been launched into space earlier that year. But yes, I believe the article is definitely before the treaty was signed.

For confirmation, check here:
http://www.ratical.org/co-globalize/JFK072663.html

Do a find on page for the word "Khrushchev" and you can link up the words in his speech to the words in large print on the newspaper. That is for sure a match. It stands to reason that they would write about his speech soon after it was given, and not a few months after when it is old new, but not neccesarily. The only thing I don't know is if it is for sure before the treaty is in place, because I haven't read the whole thing (I'm lazy).[/quote]

It's definitely before the treaty was signed. As follows:

'This limited test ban, in our most careful judgment, is safer by far for the United States than an unlimited nuclear arms race. For all these reasons, I am hopeful that this Nation will promptly approve the limited test ban treaty. There will, of course, be debate in the country and in the Senate. The Constitution wisely requires the advice and consent of the Senate to all treaties, and that consultation has already begun. All this is as it should be. A document which may mark an historic and constructive opportunity for the world deserves an historic and constructive debate.'

I'm eager to see if anything happens tomorrow on the anniversary (hopefully rocketpoppeteers.com launches)

Arghhh! I hate being the one asking for some help catching up, but - did I miss anything? I've been gone since around 12am EST (last night)

Not really so much, just working on stuff on Gordon Cooper. Oh, and we think the RocketPopp. site will open tomorrow, on the 47th anniversary of Gordon Cooper's legendary flight. =]

Has anyone tried that number as a telephone number? Maybe with the Minot area code? (701)?

ETA: Called it, appears to be a private residence, but i can't confirm because, well, I hung up when some lady said 'Hello?'. Usually these things are automated, though, so I'm going to assume unrelated.

Haha I have a feeling that lady will get quite a few calls in the next few days

Haha, ask for D. Morris...

No, but seriously, I don't think calling half-baked phone numbers is where the ARG wants us to go. Too much potential to annoy people who aren't part of the game. If they give a phone number, I suspect it will be more complete.

IIRC, there was some misplaced enthusiasm in the Cloverfield ARG with people contacting someone who was OOG that had no idea what was going on...

Yeah, people, I also suggest not to call a number, till we know, it's a phone number. Perhaps the best way is to wait for Rocket website open, and don't bother unknown people with aliens and stuff Smile

Well, only PMs have right to do it... We have some weird calls in previous ARGs Rolling Eyes

I'm really looking forward to tomorrow, hopefully we'll get an update of some sort on Rocket Poppeteers.

If we do.
Well, you know. Very Happy

Tomorrow is the anniversary of alleged Capt. "Coop" Cooper's launch into space. Perhaps a new revelation will be made? Site revealed?

Launch was at 0604 PDT/ 1304 GMT on May 15, 1963. Landing was 1624 PDT/ 2324 GMT May 16, 1963.

Just throwing out possibilities, I'm new to this so I apologize if this is way off track or distracting Smile

Just quoting this so everyone will remember (though this probably should be in the Rocketpoppeteers.com thread). JLopez, I'll make sure to give you credit for being the first one to spot this in my video (or at least the first time I saw any mention of this. If someone found this before JLopez, please link me proof before 6am PDT tomorrow). Anyway, I'm staying up until 6:04 to see if the site opens up. Hope to see some of you guys online too Smile

I don't think anyone has said anything about this before, and it could just be due to restrictions with flash, but the time of the desktop doesn't change from when you log in Confused
