I think were all losing track of the main issue here. we still dont know what the command is for the Device and we cant go any further until we do . Is it encoded in the newspaper? I think thats a major possibility. If not, where is it? what is it?

I'm pretty sure people have decompiled the flash on the scariestthingieversaw website & confirmed that there is no answer for "Device?" (yet). If there was a command that lead to something more, decompiling the flash would show that there is something capable of being accessed.

I will go do that, if you like.

Like I said, I think it's already been checked, but no harm in double checking. Who knows, maybe something was added. Is there a free decompiling program? I don't wanna pay for one lol

OMG I love this stuff. I wasn't able to join in on the fun with Cloverfield 1 but the movie and all the viral secrets within it made me really excited. Now, Super-8 is just awesome. Thing is, I used to live in Minot ND Sad((((. The post office that the 1331 box is located at is a small post office and the fact that they chose that location eludes me and makes me even more excited. I'm off to bed, I hope to come back to some updated information about the post office and the rocket poppetters....I sooooo wish I was still in Minot ND...You don't even know...

Sorry, I know you've probably moved on, but that map, with the key on the road, seems to have a hidden image on it... Not sure if anyone has noticed it or not... The field above the key image looks photoshopped, especially when compared to the Bing map Razz

The field, i'm guessing, has been turned over since the Bing snap, but if you zoom out so that it just about fills the map box area and blur your eyes a little, you can see what appears to be a human shaped figure lying down... I think it's a box, with something locked inside (hence the key underneath, and the strange 6628 number at the side of the key, a combination maybe?) Just look, for me, so I know I'm not crazy! There's a head on the left hand side and definite other features that suggest this.

Also, on this website, http://www.realwebsiteworth.com/rocketpoppeteers.com thought it was funny to see the name of a location to the left of where the RocketPopp's server supposedly is; "Surprise!"

Has anyone also noticed the giant dotted "X" on the field just down and to the right of the key? Not sure what significance, if any, any of this information has, just thought I'd share what's on my mind while we're waiting for this site to open it's doors!

could it relate to the mystery box lecture?

So, I have been doing more research on the PDP systems. I found that the memory inputs sometimes deal with mobile devices.. maybe a smart phone could reveal some insight.
Trying to figure out this device thing is tough. Apparently the only output for these things deals with "Memory I/O" I dont know what it would connect to but it is a start.. could be a smart phone.
Are there any mobile things that someone with a smart phone could hash out? I would but I dont have one.

Here is where i have been looking

Scariestthingieversaw.com is a NO-GO on a blackberry. I get a message saying "
ERROR 302 This device is not supported for REMOTE ACCESS"

ditto for iPhone

Is there anything that we can use to find what device we need?

Only thing I can think of is that we are missing something on either the PDP or the news article. Anybody try cutting out their path on the maze and overlaying it on the kennedy article to see if anything jumps out.

Nothing with the map.

I can't find anything with the map. I cut it out (the route) and then aligned it in all 4 ways (flip 1, flip 2, rotate 1, rotate 2), I couldn't see anything obvious.

If you decompile the Flash (which many have done; it was the first way the new website was found) in to its source code, you will see code references to video components and other things. For example, the command to print the newspaper clipping discovered is in the source as static text, easily visible by anyone.

In the source code, there is nothing in there to indicate a correct answer for the "DEVICE" question.

Seems like a lot of people missed this post back on page 18. It's possible that there is no answer for "Device?" (yet). I guess it doesn't hurt to keep trying, but that's probably not the next step.

My address doesn't usually include a "zone"
what does that mean?

the other article in the paper mentions a bulb for indoor gardening,
could that be the device?

I think I took that to mean Zip Code when I sent mine in.

If the paper is basically from before 1963, there weren't ZIP Codes back then. There were 'postal zone codes' previous to that, starting in 1943. I can't say from personal experience (I'm not that old) but I would suspect that the term 'zone' was often used for ZIP Codes before they became mandatory.

I did...couldn't find anything that looked useful.

I hate being stuck. Sad

Tell me about it. At least with the scariest site, there was the slow progress of occasionally checking on the countdown of data loaded. Now, there is NOTHING...(except frustration) Mad
