Isn't that a little long to reserve a site? How old are the current ones we have?

The ad on page one

Did anyone notice that Minot,ND (the place where the fake ad tells you to send your submissions) happens to have an Air Force base there and also has a squadron that until recently was called the 91st SPACE Wing. Maybe the add itself is a code to say where the message on page 2 is from or too.

It was only re-designated the SPACE Wing in 1997. Before that it was called the MISSILE Wing.

http://www.globalsecurity.org/wmd/agency/91sw.htm

Lots of info on the 91st Space Wing on that site.

Yeah I found that website last night from just typing in word related websites. the site was created last fall...Maune they wanted to reserve the website?

I did a whois and it's registered to godaddy.com which ties it in with the other sites. And I did an online-traceroute, don't know how accurate their plotting is but, gees, that is just creepy: http://www.cqcounter.com/whois/ip/74.125.95.121.html. Have it displayed as "google maps" and then scroll in.

Oops, my bad. The query is not linkable so you'll have to do it yourselves.
Use this site: http://www.cqcounter.com/whois/ , enter ihaveproof.net, check the traceroute tab and then click the last IP number which should be 74.125.95.121 and have that shown as google maps.

the site doesn't link correctly because you have a period after the .html part. Wink

this works: http://www.cqcounter.com/whois/ip/74.125.95.121.html interesting find though.

Well, it's just conincidence probably. Just checked Moffett at Wiki and it tells that there are 4 universities around the Air Field. The server is probably in one of them. Still funny though. An Air Field that you can link to both military and NASA.

There has been, and still are, a great many air base linked to NASA. I live at one of them... it's not unusual.

Alternate Symbols (command prompt)

Hey guys-- first post in a while. Back for another JJ Abrams ARG!

Has anyone noticed the odd symbols that one can enter in the command prompt by holding down the control key? They're definitely not standard for OS X, and I doubt they're standard on Windows. I'm wondering if they might be specialized for this sort of computer, and if they might have some significance when it comes to further penetrating its OS.

Anywho, here they are:

I pressed every alphanumeric key on my keyboard, while continuously holding down the control key, like so:
`1234567890-=qwertyuiop[]\asdfghjkl;'zxcvbnm,./

Certain keys yield no symbols at all, others (number keys) yield the standard symbols, and others still give some weird output, such as a large blank space.

Perhaps these symbols will allow us to execute more complex commands!

^^ Looks like there is a +/- sign there. Could that be the same as the one on the mile marker pole from the trailer? Anyone work with that symbol and the numbers in the PDP?
