My first time posting, I think I've read most of the posts so sorry if this has been mentioned before...but the edges of the paper do match up if you put the pages back to back with the words on the outside. So it's like one page of a newspaper, fold the page along the faint line that goes across the middle, and then the crosses match up, and you get the hidden message.

Both are blogspot, which is pretty common for blogs in general. And since I think 500rads is considered OOG, I don't think there's much that can be read into that.

You failed to link to the previous reference, and yet you flashed the fish!
For this, I flounder thee!
Flounder

(Remember folks, the trout is not just there to chastise. You've got to provide a link to make an effective point - unless you want to get slapped with a fish of your own!)

Ehm people, should we perhaps define a Level of Troutability? I mean, for example we can trout only people, who are already here for months and know, what is it and so. Perhaps trouting newcomers wouldn't bring them fun to be with us and also wouldn't bring us new minds and brainz.

I know, many new people just don't read the threads and make another troutable acts, but if they are new here, they are welcome.

I'd say, a person, who is registered since, say, 3 months is troutable or so?
And newcomers will just get a link to place they re-discovered etc. Because - especially for new people - it's pretty cool to discover things on their own, say printer dialog under the console in PDP simulator and so. Even if it's already old news for us, it's great news for them, and we should perhaps just appreciate the efforts and so.

Just to keep our place in love and peace and stuff? Wink

Dunno.. Trouting newbies is the quickest way to get them to start at the beginning as all should and at least read up on where things are currently.. Especially when its been going on for weeks and they come in with stuff from day 1..JMHO

I think the best thing to do is to trout if you want to, but to do it respectfully. With newer posters who might not be familiar with it I'd hope that older hands are even nicer and more welcoming, almost like treating the receiver with a delicious trout dinner, than slapping them.

There is also the option not to use them at all (I hardly ever do) but that requires a lot more words (verbal diarrhoea is a problem of mine).

In short (you think that's a lie don't you). Trout or don't trout, but if you choose to make sure it's nice as exemplified by Euchre's delicate flinging of the fish.

About the HotKeys ... (again)

Hey guys-- first post in a while. Back for another JJ Abrams ARG!

Has anyone noticed the odd symbols that one can enter in the command prompt by holding down the control key? They're definitely not standard for OS X, and I doubt they're standard on Windows. I'm wondering if they might be specialized for this sort of computer, and if they might have some significance when it comes to further penetrating its OS.

Anywho, here they are:

I pressed every alphanumeric key on my keyboard, while continuously holding down the control key, like so:
`1234567890-=qwertyuiop[]\asdfghjkl;'zxcvbnm,./

Certain keys yield no symbols at all, others (number keys) yield the standard symbols, and others still give some weird output, such as a large blank space.

Perhaps these symbols will allow us to execute more complex commands!

Merged to relevant thread about the same site - E

oooh good one! they might not come into play at this stage in the game just yet, but look like some of the sybols wikibruce has been trying to uncover on his page: http://super8.wikibruce.com/File:Teaser-frame-symbols.jpg

Hmmm ... I posted this a while back, but got slapped with a fish!

Well, I tried this, but no list was generated Sad
Since no LIST was exposed, I believe no Device is "attached" as of yet.

However, I decided to try some known HotKeys!
Some did odd things, but
"CTRL+R" revealed little YELLOW boxes!!
(I'll be trying different combos of HotKeys tonight!)

Scariestthingieversaw.com mount
LIST

Hey guys, I'm fairly new to this but I have been following the arg and feel that I have done an adequate job of keeping track of things going on. I have been messing around with the device mount and I am getting nowhere with it. I thought it might not be a bad idea to keep a list going of what people are trying here so we at least have a quick reference to save time in that area.

[Edit]Merged, reckon this fits into the discussion of the site quite nicely - MikeyJ
