and solving a cryptogram got it to spell out ...

"AMARILLO"
"I FINALLY"
"RO REALLY"
"DID FLUUR"
"EVEN LOOK"
"AGAIN TTK"
"MOMENT TA"

Sadly, none of them worked for the device. Nice try though...

Is the sound supposed to lead to the device?

Well, the actual key of the first note is C#, so if it were some code based on the note names, the above is irrelevant.

Has anyone tried all of the possible commands with all of the files listed again since the sound file development? I don't have time or else I would.

I just tried all of them, all failed the same way. File error.
Next?

And the noise and device was just a "what the heck moment" Very Happy

I think it's a pretty cool idea or at least an effort in trying. It doesn't really matter if c# is the first note. If you encrypt a sentence into something your first letter doesn't have to be "A" either, does it? It's always a matter of the system used. And since we don't know the system any guess is as good as another.

Totally agree.. sorry if It sounded a bit rough. My point was that if you are using the frequencies of the notes to get letters, 600 cycles is not an A .. 440 cycles is an A..and so on..so, maybe using the correct corresponding letters for the frequencies listed might be a closer comparo. Very Happy

Well, it's a good thought. And you are right 440 Hz is an A. But then again you are not right because the 50 Hz increments that her logic based on were suggested by Euchre some pages ago. Actual notes don't step in increments of 50 Hz but in powers of 2.... blah blah blah Smile. In other words: 440 wouldn't even exist in the logic that Spanky's girl based her logic upon.

Please don't start discussing the music here folks, take it to the Braegen14 thread. It's a tricky enough one to follow as it is.

Spanky Kiddo, like MelodyMan said in that thread, please don't cross post - that's what caused the schism Wink

Actually, it isn't from star trek. It is from a roller coaster in King's Island, in kentucky. I was just there, actually.
