The more I look at it the more I think you're right. However the TRS-80 Model III wasn't released until July, 1980 and that's seriously pushing our timeline. The teaser says 1979, and the license plate was discontinued when it expired in 1980.

I thought it might be a VT52 as this was made by DEC and can be connected to a PDP-11 system: http://bestt1deal.com/2010/04/pdp-1140-computer-and-vt52-decscope-terminal/

However the one in the trailer has the disk drives and the line across the top that the TRS-80 has. Incidentally there are actually two of these PC's in the trailer, screen shot attached, I used the brightened one posted above because I don't want to take my own since I deleted the trailer already and no one else has the second computer in a screen shot.

Interesting find Shizzire, I'm seriously confused as the trailer says:
Quote:
In 1979, the U.S. Air Force closed a section of Area 51.
All materials were to be transported to a secure facility in Ohio.

Did it really take a year for them to get there?? Maybe a year to get around to being shipped but it all seems ... imprecise.

So I think this might be a weird stretch but....

After adding the numbers 21 and 70 you would get 91. Then, assuming the small dot is actually a multiplication symbol you would multiply it by 64 giving a grand total of 5824.

After googling that number I found this...

http://www.perezmedia.net/beltofvenus/archives/000671.html

Personally I think its a looooong stretch.

After looking at the brightened photo, if you look at the bottom you see the text OSSNG.

Well I googled that and found this: http://www.opensystemsolutions.co.uk/html/oss-ng.html

OSS-NG™ is the next evolution of the well known OSS 2000™ HMI. A package that enables you to create a visual interface to any supported control or monitoring system. It is suitable for a wide range of applications as encountered in BMS and process control environments.

Powerful graphics handling lets you generate and see the layout of your building and plant services on screen. Live displays of all variables such as temperature, pressure, humidity, air velocity etc. can be observed. Control parameters can be implemented or changed as required, either locally, across the network or by telephone.

Eh, nothing special I suppose.

Additionally, above OSSNG looks to be the words Hall or Hail.

I had a look at the vt, and think mines a better physical match.

Prop guy 1 "let's throw some old-looking computers in with the wreckage."
Prop guy 2 "ok, but all we have is these here 1980 models"
Prop guy 1 "you think anyone is going to analyze this trailer frame by frame, and figure out these computers don't match the timeline??? Get real..."

Umm, how about "crossing" and "rail"? Would fit better with the flashing red lights too. No?

PM's expect this. I didn't play cloverfield, but my understanding is J.J. paid extraordinary attention to detail.

Cloverfield was huge. It had multiple sights all connecting to each other. It was crazy

I thought about that earlier too with the license plate. I was like "maybe they couldn't get a license plate in the same county as WPAFB". First that's not like Abrams and 2 the shot of the turck with license plate appears to be CG.

But the Model III was designed as a home computer. There were business models (and gov't models) that completely outclassed it. Maybe the guy in the truck just robbed the local radio shack, and had a couple in the back.

So I think this might be a weird stretch but....

Personally I think its a looooong stretch.

That makes perfect sence, I noticed that star in the trailer and was wondering if it was the north star or not. And I had a gut feeling something was hidden in the stars. I also believe that we should find the locomotive model to narrow down the possible Rail ways we are looking at. Wiki has a list of locomotives that opperate on each line. It would help our search. Im sure the stars can also give us a time and location of the crash

On the page it says its the Belt of Venus.

We should find the constellation on the picture and see what there is.
