Perhaps the numbers are a passcode we will need to unlock the next document/clue/whateveritis after the downloading is complete?

Maybe BONHAM refers to John Bohnam. LZ was huge in the seventies. (man I can almost here younger guys on the forum googling John Bonham)

Ok, that was a joke mostly. But I have 3 words for you: Train.Kept.A'rollin.

I think J.J. is lying and this is Clovefield related. The line that gets me is the one that sounds like Hud from Cloverfield in this movie, "Oh my God!" The trailer, although shot in super 8, is not someone filming, like some teen or something as J.J. or someone said, but more cinematic Super 8. So, my theory is that Super 8 refers to 8 super monsters and that we are going to see other trailers in which other mythological creatures are introduced.

For example, this one came from Area 51
Another came from the sea.
From under the earth came the mudmen... etc.

Actually, technically, it'd be MMMMMMCDXXV or if I could apply overstrike on here, drop the heap of Ms and replace with an overstriken VI.

Ok, you guys ...

It's 11:00 PM and I'm tired and I'm still waiting and hoping the site will finish loading tomorrow because I will be in school all day Thursday and I'm trippin' out and I'm catching the ARG Ridiculously-Over-Analyzing sickness and ... yeah. Here you go. This amazing discovery will alter your reality and shake your foundation! Hahaha

I would politely trout you, but I'm afraid of Euchre.

Why be afraid of me? If you are going to trout politely and correctly, you should do it and need not fear me. If you fear anything, fear the flounder...

Or if you or others trout too much, you should fear..

For completion's sake, I've uploaded what I think are all the notable frames pulled from the 24fps HD teaser to http://super8.wikibruce.com/Super8_teaser_analysis

I believe most if not all of those have been addressed or seen at some point. If other frames not shown there are found to have some interesting content, I'll add them to the gallery. My frame export based on the MOV source produced 2154 frames, and at ~1:29 in length and at 24fps, that calculates to about 2136 +/- 24, so I'm sure that's all the frames there are Smile.

Yes, that would make sense. Also, after a good night's sleep, I hear it too. Original post edited Smile

As a complete noob, I'm not sure whether what I'm about to say will make any sense...

That being said, the numbers on the pole (I saw 21+70.64 at first) reminded me of the markers they use to show location.

I wasn't sure how to describe this, so I found this as an illustration. See if it makes more sense than I do.

http://www.duchesnegov.net/surveyor/t2sr6w/PLAT/481.pdf

You see how each thing is marked with an increasing number? That what this reminds me of, anyway.

Like I said, I'm new at this stuff (brand new - introduced to the ARG concept 2 days ago, in fact) so forgive me if this... was completely worthless.

I think this guy is onto something. Myself I can't find an exact match on either this PDF or anywhere else but I do have very limited time. Can somebody look into this. It could give us a precise location.

Probably nothing but to me i see a face.

I know its probably nothing.
Don't flame me too badly haha.

I'll say it as someone else is going to, and then it's out in the open and we can all move on.

Cthulu?

Wink

And a general note on spoiler usage for all. No need to spoiler speculation or stuff that is plain in the trailer. Answers to puzzles that people might want to solve on their own or the actual plot of the real film are the kind of places that you need to use spoilers. I think we have a mystery, but not a puzzle at the moment. An enigma rather than a rubric. An equivocation rather than a... shoot me.

As much as I'd love to see a Cthulhu movie, the only one I think could pull it off would be Guillermo Del Toro, seeing that he has already dabbled a bit in the mythos in his earlier works. I'm just hoping this whatever-it-is will be unlike anything we have ever seen before. Or perhaps we won't see the thing at all? The Blairfield Clover Witch? With guns.
