[Smallville] Smallville ARG?

A tip from an ARGN reader about a possilbe game at the Smallville TV show site.

Smallville Ledger is the local newspaper with some interesting links, most notably:

Luthor Corp gives an employee login and sharholder login that nobody's seemed to crack yet.

Coincidentally, I was looking at the Smallville Ledger last night myself for the first time, and what popped out at me was the "nonsensical strings of letters" in the article THE EZRA SMALL CONUNDRUM (i was on part two of the 6 part series at the time).

The paper has SO much in common with the look and feel of The Push Times, it was scary -- but in a good way.

Part 1 of the EZRA POUND CONUNDRUM also features a fairly out of place verse (tritrain?) in the middle of the article...

A Lexcorp login? Well....At least it'll keep me off the streets at night. I knew that all those years reading comics weren't wasted.

I managed to get into the sharholder login. I dont think I solved it how you are suppsoe to so will put it as a spoiler so anyone who wants to try and find out the right way can do so.

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
If you view the source then it says what the password is for each one. though for the 2nd one had to go to the link shown in the source.

Password for first one is smallville
Password for third one is manager

You get to see a mp3 of lex's father talking about the company. My sound was not good so did not find anything that useful.

Smallville ARG

As far as I know, this isn't a game. There is a login for Lex at the LuthorCorp intranet (make sure your browser allows popups!)

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
IIRC, the username is Lex Luthor. The password was lillian (mom's name), then spaceship. However, I just tried it and neither of those work. So. Maybe it's case sensitive, or maybe they changed it. A direct link is floating around there somewhere.

Which leads to...

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
being able to check Lex's e-mail account, which contains correspondences between him and someone he's hired to design logos for his new company, LexCorp. Seeing as that went down last season, this is all pretty old. One e-mail leads to another page containing logo ideas, etc... with yet another login, username Lex, password thebes, I believe.

Then again, it's been a while since I've accessed any of this.

Update in the Smallville Ledger

The rumors won't go away. There's been an update at the Smallville Ledger, apparently. I've heard from a couple sources that there does indeed seem to be something ARG-like going on.

Can't quite put it to bed, yet.

See this page for the update. See ARGN's homepage for more info.

hmmm...

Some have even joked that the cryptic poems seem like clues in some kind of elaborate game. Such a diversion would require the sharpest minds to crack, but the eventual rewards would surely be substantial.

But didn't Lex just hire Chloe? She's pretty pissed at Clark. She may not be designing logos, but she will be "designing" the investigation about Clark. She seemed to be willing to do anything for Lex to get back at Clark.
Just a thought, don't know how it fits in though, if at all.

**Check out Chloe's article at The Torch.

And of course the "thoughts" in parenthesis are mine.

Esp:
3. Duplicity between friends will ruin the friendship.
(Wonder who she's talking about?)
10. The visage is not always what it first seems.
(Again, wonder who she's talking about?)
12. Insurgence is dangerous, but at times necessary to uncover the Truth.
(Uh oh, she is staging an uprising)
17. We have many strange things in Smallville, but a visitor from outer space living among us is not one of them.
(Wait until she finds out that Truth Shocked )

I don't know who is going to get it worse next season, Clark or Chloe.

At least I got to learn a lot of new words today Wink

Trivia: Smallville

>But didn't Lex just hire Chloe?<

Lionel hired her to investigate the Clarks in return for a job at the newspaper.

Is anybody working on those "codes" in the Ezra Small articles at the Smallville Ledger?

Codes

You can find nearly all the translations in the forums, either on the Smallville Ledger "Community Calendar." Or, on the KryptonSite Rumormill section. Or, on the KryptonSite Message Boards in the General Discussion and a thread called Ezra Small Translation or something.
Spoiler (Rollover to View):

The first one is a reverse alphabet. (A=Z, B=Y). The last one is similar. It's morse code (b=. and f=-, ! is a break between letters and a !! is a break between words). Then you take the morse code gibberish and apply the reverse alphabet code (a=z, b=y). Then you reverse the entire message and you get the final message in the Ezra Small thing. Other codes involve the alphabet being shifted by the letters E,Z,R,A and a shift on the keyboard.

More strangeness. On the WB.com site, you can find a series of five movie clips featuring one of the characters, Chloe Sullivan. These seem to be exploring a central mystery, something the concept of a Smallville game was missing when I first heard about it. However, there is a definite theme running through the movies.

Anyway, the final episode ends with find out more on www.smallvilletorch.com. This is unusual as none of the others ended this way. However, on the site, there's no wrap up article like previous Chloe Chronicles episodes have had. Either we're going to get something tomorrow, or we have to dig deeper.

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
If you run your mouse over the Crow in the header, you find a glowing green eye. Clicking on such will pop up a log in window.

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
Furthermore, the login is csullivan and the password is wallofweird. This brings you to Chloe's desktop where you can find the old Torch articles, pictures from the show (including things that were directly from some episodes). Most notably, you find the digital wall of weird mentioned in the last episode of the Chloe Chronicles. You only get the first 5 entries of what should be closer to like 20, so perhaps this is the beginning of content for the game and we'll see updates. Now that the show's on hiatus, we'll need to find clues in the ancillary things not directly connected with the show.
