Certainly OOG, but Tamar posted this:

Super Special Fish sighting!! #SDCC http://tweetphoto.com/34245210
1:10 PM Jul 22nd via UberTwitter

She's either following the game, or knows the PMs.

Ok, so they said show the letter, sing the song and get some stuff, right?

What song? Just the slogan (to the slusho tune even!)?

Maybe we should send in our RP letters and see if they'd actually return some swag? I'd LOVE an RP t shirt. I got my Slusho shirts and cap, seriously want the RP tee!

I'm going to send it in and see what, if anything happens.

Have any of you sent your letters back or any response for the space challenge?

More Twitter Scraping

Apparently Tamar and "Slusho Steve" Zaragoza were having a discussion about the Rocket Poppeteers mobile on July 10th.

@tamarlovesu awesome bumping into you at Gallery 1988! May consider a Rocket-Poppeteers-Mobile along with the Slusho-Mobile! Mini Cooper?

@stevezaragoza Slusho Steve!! Great seeing you too! Can't wait for the Rocket-mobile!

Unfortunately, that's illegal without signed releases for each person's right of publicity.

edit: Xeno took the words out of my mouth. The for profit, non-newsworthy publication of a person's image is proscribed by right of publicity laws. Although in public, we're entitled to protect our own image when used for commercial purposes, thus a signed release is necessary. No film production company, no matter how guerilla, is going to surreptitiously take your photo or video of you and begin even pre-production based on the photo without a release.

Isn't there a posting at Comic-Con that by entering, you give your consent to be photographed?

I know what you're talking about, of course, but just wondering if the media circumstances of the event alter it somehow? Plenty of DVDs featuring fans amid world premiere crowds in bonus features and do not get signed releases from every single individual in the crowd, yet feature them all in the footage.

Anyway, agreed it likely won't pay off for anything in the film — maybe the guy "in the know" was just some creepy candid camera stalker. Laughing

The truck is outside of the convention center, so the general release doesn't apply. Also, a general release wouldn't legally hold water if the image of an individual were used significantly in a film.

Images of crowds are one thing, because the individual is typically not discernable from the crowd. A photograph of an individual that is on screen for even a fleeting moment, however, requires more.

edit: LAWYER'D

Awesome News, people!
I wish I were in San Diego.

And according their tweets they seem to send us letters. I hope, they will do it also to non-US-residents...

I got a printer finally so made a photo copy of the letter and on back answered the space challenge as:

Space Challenge
How many stars are on this page?

Background = 16
Space Challenge = 1
RP Logo = 22
Captain Coop's Flag Patch = 50
Rocket Flag Emblem = 50
Captain Coop himself! = 1
Total = 140

Real Spacemen Love Rocket Poppeteers!!!

name/address

and sent that in the mail.

I really debated whether to go with the actual letter or not. I wanted to since the CC twitter request said for those guys to show the real letter but if I sent that off and it doesn't go anywhere then I handed back my little Super8 swag, so decided on a copy instead since for the space challenge it gave no specifics on how they'd want an answer, let alone whether to answer or not.

We'll see what happens....if anything

My buddy is in line for something, or else he'd head over there. He still doesn't have a letter, just a pic of one, so if someone else can go, GO.

She is cute, and naughty enough to get spanked by Wonder Woman! Bad Girl!

I can't believe there is nobody there from the forum. I am sure we will hear from someone soon. The letter thing is curious, why would they ask for a letter unless they passed some out there. Anyone following the ARG wouldn't have brought the letter unless they knew they would have needed it and we had no indication it was necessary to do so. I'm guessing they were passing the letters out and signing people up to join the fight, hence the smokin babes on the street. They would then take the letter to the truck for a treat.

EDIT: In the pic of the two girls holding the RP T shirt you can see the one on the right is holding some papers, possibly envelopes or letters?
