This is WAY out there but as i recall the movie trailer was sent out in a digital locked film canister that couldnt be opened until the code was given to the movie theaters. DOES ANYONE KNOW THAT CODE?

We asked if 8's trailer was really sent to theaters in canisters requiring special codes to open. "That is correct," Abrams told us. Certainly such conspicuous security measures only invite the kind of scrutiny that can ruin carefully planned surprises, though, right? "I don’t know if it would matter with you guys," he said, laughing. "I don’t think it matters." Is there a better way to keep secret monster movies under wraps? "I'm working on it," he told us before returning to his meal.

That IT WOULDNT MATTER TO YOU GUYS means hes talking directly to us...We need to find more interviews

I heard that the code was different for each cinema.

Antarctica

the picture behind captain cooper on the printout is of Antarctica and there are two stars on it, he's pointing to one of them i've found a couple possibilities, but not sure if it has anything to do with this

http://www.gdargaud.net/Antarctica/MapSatellite/AntarcticStationsMap.gif

http://www.antarcticconnection.com/antarctic/stations/images/maps/map-image.jpg

can't quite make ou the names of the bases on the first one except for the second star he's not pointing at i think is Aboa Finland's base. And the one he's pointing to it says South African but the name doesn't match up with the South African base which is (Sanae IV)

I think he assumed that whoever was going to come up to him while he ate lunch and berate him with questions about his new movie is probably in the same league as the rest of us: willing to overanalyze and scrutinize and abunchofothershit-inize every single thing we possibly can. He could send it with no security, or send each reel with an armed guard with a license to kill, and we are still going to tear shit up figuring it out.

"You Guys" is a nice way of saying "nerds". Not in a derogatory way or anything, nerds are JJ's bread and butter.

Antarctica continued...

i've searched the locals for the bases and the one actual closet to where he's pointing is Wasa the Swedish station, but who knows. However, i've discovered that the name is Sarie Marais a decommissioned station. here's a little info i found: During the period 1 July 1999 to 30 June 1999, South Africa compiled an
IEE for the decommissioning of the Sarie Marais base at Grunehogna.
Due to time, weather and ships space limitations however, the action was
only partially completed (two of nine containerised structures removed)
and was re-scheduled for completion in the 2001/2002 summer and
2002/2003 season, if required. Fortunately, we were able to complete the
full decommissioning during this past Antarctic summer. Copies of the IEE
are available from this Department on request.

all decommissioned parts:
Complete Sarie Marais
Base
Container insulated
panels,
Steel sub-frame,
Timber floor base,
Power generators and
water smelter equipment

it's probably nothing, just random stuff....

Antartica
Antartica

The bad news is that we have nothing to go on for any lead on Antartica. I dont believe any of our rescearch has even remoatly pointed to it. On the bright side it is a major discovery that we will look into, im sure it wasnt put in their on accident...Nothing else to go on for today...Hopefuly we get some more clues tomrrow...

Im waiting on my Rocket Poppeteers form to come back...its either going to say Return to Sender or go to some old man with a P.O box he only checks once a week...whos going to get a hell of a lot of junk mail...

Why do you think it's Antarctica? Doesn't really look like it.

I work at a theater but to be honest we broke into the film cans using a crow-bar before they gave us the code for the lock lol. I was told by my manager the codes are color code (each lock had different color stickers. A code for each color) and the lock combos were also different from the odd print numbers from the evens. It was complicated but I'll check with my manager about it to see if they still have it.

I know this sounds crazy, but theirs a picture cut off on the second page of the news paper, it looks like one of those obituary ones or an Author pic... Btw the newspaper has lots of stuff. Also, is their a posibility of their being 23 starts, Lost finialy is that day, and they dont know what number 108 is yet...

I would also stick that hidden phrase into a website name and see if anything comes up

108 = 4 + 8 + 15 + 16 + 23 + 42
Lost fans will auto flock to this regardless of what they do or don't know.

If anything I would say it more resembles the Gulf of Mexico.

If so then it may fall in the timeline. The crater found in the gulf of mexico was discovered in 1978. Maybe JJ will put a spin on this and say that we found some alien life form entombed in the ocean floor.

Read the wiki for more info i only skimmed it.

I don't know if it means anything but on the page from the newspaper with the continuation of the "traffic light" story there is mention of a code

Traffic Lights wrote:

it just struck me as odd that there is a mention of a code in a traffic light story and the code for the reels was color-based

Code in that news article more than likely is referring to a traffic code. Meaning a law.
