A large part of it is the google analytics script.

Yh the RP sites code is actually very small, and the whole site only contains one image (temp.gif) and the index.html. I downloaded the entire site just to check there weren't any other files in storage.

Most of what you've posted is your browsers stuff as others have said. If you just click page source you can see that the body of the site only contains:
[body]
[div align="center"][img src="img/temp.gif" width="800" height="650" alt="Rocket Poppeteers" / ]
[/div]
[script type="text/javascript"]
var _gaq = _gaq || [];
_gaq.push(['_setAccount', 'UA-16400964-1']);
_gaq.push(['_setDomainName', 'none']);
_gaq.push(['_setAllowLinker', true]);
_gaq.push(['_trackPageview']);
(function() {
var ga = document.createElement('script'); ga.type = 'text/javascript'; ga.async = true;
ga.src = ('https:' == document.location.protocol ? 'https://ssl' : 'http://www') + '.google-analytics.com/ga.js';
var s = document.getElementsByTagName('script')[0]; s.parentNode.insertBefore(ga, s);
})();
[/script][/body]

And I don't think this really contains any clues, unless you can use the Account Number listed above, but I highly doubt it.

As far as I can tell we are still at a standstill... Sad

58701 details

Check the usps.com site and the zip code 58702 is shown as reserved for a post office box. Then search on the same site for a post office box within 1 miles of that zip code and you get the post office at 117 5TH AVE SW,
MINOT, ND 58701. I surmise that's where the box in question is located.

FWIW, Google turns up several advertising agencies within a few blocks too.

Gordon Cooper
His camera confiscation....

In Gordon Cooper's autobiography Leap of Faith, there's a mention of a UFO incident in Minot (which has been mentioned previously) and a bunch of stuff to do with telepathy.

Here's the link for the Amazon product page. You can Look Inside and keyword search for content. Maybe there's more here...

edit: There's a bunch of info about Valerie Ransone and "Space Kids" with psychic abilities. This gels with some of the theories going around. Maybe it's not a camera but (super) eight gifted Space Kids? Searching Google also comes up with lots of results.

Did a search on the site and couldn't find this, but it has probably been mentioned. Found this article on Cooper's AutoBio and it talks about how Gordon Cooper himself "accidently" filmed area 51 (not on a super 8 I don't think) but could this possibly be a tie in? Or just a coincidence?

Cool find, zumbus. I guess they don't want the regular mail service in the town to explode, haha.

As for the ftp, DO. NOT. SEEK. THE TREASURE.

Wait? I sent that coupon to the address on it and exactly as it was. Whats going to happen to that or is the coupon still good? Should i regret sending the coupon?

It's still good. The different zip just makes sure that our coupons will go to the right place...if I'm understanding that correctly. But I think I am.

Wait, so people are correcting the Zip Code on the coupon to ensure it reaches the destination?

No just put the zip code given & it will get where it needs to go.

Another nice little coincidence: the Minot basketball team are called the SkyRockets.

Also, the guy that Minot was named after, Henry Davis Minot, was a railroad investor.

Quote:
After leaving Harvard he became involved in railroad investments. He traveled extensively and reported on various railroad systems, from Mexico to Minnesota. At one point he was the director of the Great Northern Railway. In 1887, he became the president of a new railroad line which connected Manitoba to Lake Superior. He was also involved in a variety of other commercial enterprises, including steamships and streetcars in Superior, Wisconsin.

The Moon is upside-down!

I'm On To You Abrams wrote:
First of all I would like to say hello. Very Happy I have been a Abrams fan for a while now and I love his viral marketing campaigns. I rediscovered this website recently and felt like I should offer up my findings.

When I saw the two newspaper pages the picture of the flowers stood out as conflicting with the style of the period (it is also the only full actual photograph in the paper) . I immediately cropped the image and tweaked the levels in photoshop. That gave me this:

I then began to look for a way see if this image had been used anywhere else on the net. Eventually I found the site www.tineye.com/

Yeah, I think this is just OOG.

Ha!
Someone on here claimed that PARAMOUNT "would NEVER use random images grabbed from the Internet."
