[techie] in other words, nothing redirects - whatever URL is requested, the same HTML source is sent to the browser, so any IMG tag referring to an image in the relative (current) folder will get messed up if the url itself implies the html is running from a subfolder, where the image itself isn't located (the img tag would need to refer to the physical location for the image from the root folder so it'll show regardless of the subfolders listed in the url) [/techie]
and methinks that may still be *whoosh* for many people =)
but anyway, sorry to digress, heh

So it basically wont show us an image unless it's in the context of the sites parameters, and if someone tries a hack, it goes kablooey?

So, is the 22nd the only reasonable guess we have for the site updating?

I'm liking the idea someone posited about average time our applications will take to get there, and return with our first clue.

Just curious if anyone that sent in the maze and coupon has received anything back yet. mine was sent in Tuesday so obviously i havent had time to get anything back yet. Just wanted to know what was being sent back if anyone had gotten it back yet

Ill give JJ and crew props for learning alot from the Cloverfield experience. theyve definitely upped the security on the web sites to avoid any hacking like what happened the last time. spider stoppers and all LOL

 ‘robot.txt’ doesn’t exist on the rocket poppeteers server.

Sorry to burst your bubble; but 'robot.txt' doesn't actually exist on the rocket poppeteers server.
As you can see, adding any '.txt' file to the end of the main url will show index.htm, not a 404.
Observe...

Hehe..I'm just being patient on this one..

hmm... I can't resist. Maybe examples might help:

With the image to view at website.com/titleimage.gif
and the HTML source:
Code:
<img src="titleimage.gif">

Visit:
website.com/thispagedoesntexist.html
- serves the home page HTML referencing "titleimage.gif"
- image loads because it's actually referencing website.com/titleimage.gif

Visit:
website.com/subfolder/thispagedoesntexist.html
- serves the home page HTML still referencing "titleimage.gif"
- image doesn't load because it's now looking for website.com/subfolder/titleimage.gif

Now if the HTML source reads:
Code:
<img src="/titleimage.gif">
it will always load the image because it's now referencing website.com/titleimage.gif (note the leading "/", root folder)
- even at website.com/subfolder/thispagedoesntexist.html the image will still load because it's requesting the image's physical location on the site, website.com/titleimage.gif

Is that a little clearer?
I know, you don't care. But nothing's happening and I'm bored and waiting for my laundry to finish Razz

ETA: point being, if it was redirecting all URLs to the homepage, images would always work. Because adding a subfolder to the url request which doesn't exist breaks the image display, we know it's the same HTML being served to all the page requests, and that there's an oversight in the HTML code, using all relative references Smile

theory going 'round here, least where i've read, is that it's a psych type puzzle, there's 2 ways to solve the maze, 3 if you go outside and around, and 4, my personal favorite, draw a straight line ignoring the boundaries of walls Very Happy (that's not an actual solve, neither is the going round the outside, but eh, some fun to be had)

cutting along the dotted line and mailing in the maze is another part of the psych, since the dotted line doesn't extend around the maze, just the coupon, but they say to also mail in the maze.

I certainly care...I'd love to learn more about how all of this works....it would certainly help with ARGs and you know I like to be part of those..

So, thanks Brucie...and that last paragraph you put in there actually did sum it up quite well Smile
